- Revovisionary, on 11/10/2008, -6/+34Our eyes on you Boston!
- ems8, on 11/10/2008, -6/+20Yea! Go Lakers!
They're a team made of wise veterans and young go-getters (amazing that Kobe is probably considered an 'elder' on that squad), they're exciting because they work well together, and they're taking the rings this year! - llama5492, on 11/10/2008, -5/+17GO LAKERS!
- varunb007, on 11/10/2008, -2/+12After 5 games, their average margin of victory is 22.4 points... That's pretty impressive.
- mrgrubbage, on 11/10/2008, -3/+12Trevor Ariza, 'nuff said.
- ghee, on 11/10/2008, -3/+11Hopefully they can keep this level of performance throughout the season.
- varunb007, on 11/10/2008, -0/+8Mother TAriza
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -2/+9Oh man. It's good to be a Lakers fan right now. The team's 10 deep, and barring injury should be champions. The Rockets are still taking time to gel, but I think they'll be okay if Shane Battier gets back and if TMac is healthy. Very interesting team with a lot of talent.
- canewediggit, on 11/10/2008, -4/+11if every rockets loss if going to wind up on the front page, i demand equal time for our wins!
hey t-mac, feel free to join the 08-09 season already. i guess nobody informed you these games count. - Namakemono, on 11/10/2008, -1/+7The Lakers are practically an all-star team. I don't see how they can be stopped.
- threemagic, on 11/10/2008, -1/+7The Lakers were down by nearly 20 early in that game too...
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -1/+6In related news, the Clippers finally won a game when they beat Dallas last night.
- SnuKs, on 11/10/2008, -1/+6***** the Mets. Nevemind.. they ***** themselves!
- varunb007, on 11/10/2008, -1/+5first ginobli was injured and now tony parker got hurt... they're usually make their push in the second half the season though so maybe there's still hope, as long as they don't dig themselves into too deep of a hole.
- bobajoba, on 11/10/2008, -1/+5They're a bunch of old farts. That's the problem. NBA analysts even talked about this last season. Their roster is loaded with guys over 30. Duncan alone cannot carry the team anymore. Even with Parker, they had to go the distance to beat Minnesota... and only by a few points.
- psevium, on 11/10/2008, -0/+4I would heh. I'm a Hawks fan but they're HIGHLY unlikely to make the finals.
- EnP24, on 11/10/2008, -2/+5Digg love Kobe.
- nomadofthewaves, on 11/10/2008, -1/+4Actually the biggest GM/Owner failure would goto the man who broke the championship bulls up to begin with. Had he not been a douche we could have probably seen Jordan stick around and win 2 more championships as a bull.
Lakers are winning the championship this year. Bynum is a beast. - aflaks, on 11/10/2008, -0/+3The spurs on the other hand, god damn! what the hell happened to them!
- spicytempura, on 11/10/2008, -0/+3Unlike last year, the Lakers are focusing on defense early in the season, and their defense allows them to force their wills upon their opponents; they have a greater defensive efficiency, winning each of the last 5 games by an average of 22.4 points. They seem relatively healthy, and they also have two 7-foot bigmen on the floor who can block shots. Phil has fallen away from his usual stiff man-on-man defensive plan from past years and has tried a new defensive scheme (a strong side zone) that traps the offense and forces turnovers, and it's working pretty well. They're off to a great start, they better go all the way. Phil Jackson said they might have too much talent because he's finding it hard to spread the minutes around, but that's a good problem to have.
- janoo1989, on 11/10/2008, -0/+2what about him?
- bobajoba, on 11/10/2008, -2/+3Only the Hawks and Lakers still undefeated. Wouldn't be surprised if they met in this season's finals.
- dancindrudge, on 11/10/2008, -4/+55-0 baby! Let's keep it up and pwn the Mavericks who are 2-4... Bleh, I just typed Maverick.
GO LAKERS! ON THE ROAD TO THE CELTIC B E A T D O W N! - idsfa, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1That's what they said about the 1976-77 Philadelphia 76ers.
- Zedian, on 11/10/2008, -6/+7So much for Houston actually contending with the Lakers in the west.
Next up, the Hornets. - derekmas10, on 11/10/2008, -1/+2If only they could perform like this in the Finals.
Go stand around offense! - flashthom, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1There's 82 games in the regular season, buddy.
- IRAcarbombs, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1OOOOoohhhhh Wow theyve beat the Clippers twice and Portland once, thats stellar *sarcasm*
- bballbackus, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1Meanwhile wizards are the only team in the league to have not won a game yet...
- scoottie, on 11/10/2008, -1/+183-0 then 16-0 and we have a parade in LA in june
- writer0213, on 11/10/2008, -1/+1I hate to see, but it looks like Lakers are going to be tough to beat this season.
- Miroshnykov, on 11/11/2008, -0/+0Los Angeles Lakers the champion this week, I think and in a season
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -1/+1the chicago bulls has a very real oppertunity to acquire kobe in a trade last year. they decided luol deng and ben gordon were worth more then kobe. its was the biggest GM failure in the history of the nba. any other gm would have given the keys to the city for kobe.
so, that said, go lakers. - Dota, on 11/11/2008, -2/+1just like how the 03-04 lakers with malone, payton, kobe, and shaq could not be stopped...
- trer, on 11/10/2008, -4/+2Lakers are overrated. They haven't played anyone notable except for Houston and Houston is overrated as well. Wait until they get the beat down from real teams like New Orleans and Detroit coming up.
- wake2wake, on 11/10/2008, -2/+0That's Awesome, I can't wait for the next 77 games!
- merdiesel, on 11/10/2008, -4/+1When you have the best player in the NBA on your team getting triple teamed night in and night out, it's not hard to score.
Along with the majority of the Lakers squad, he's nothing special. Kobe is. - Nlewis4, on 11/10/2008, -8/+4looking forward to them choking in the finals again (if they make it)
- macfanboi, on 11/10/2008, -7/+2I guess your eyes weren't on Boston last year during the NBA Championship games.
- llama5492, on 11/10/2008, -10/+4***** you, two of my friends died keeping the Lakers undefeated.
- stellarceltic, on 11/10/2008, -21/+7***** the Lakers
