- reynolds3g, on 05/09/2008, -0/+11Kobe had a great season(obviously with the MVP) and should be a unanimous selection, but how is Lebron not? He put up 30/8/7 this year, statistically ridiculous. Who got a first place vote over Lebron at his position?
- Timmaay, on 05/09/2008, -4/+3I hate Lebron but I agree with you. Seeing the celtics shut him down makes me happy though.
- bloggerjul, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1the nba gives priority to players longer in the league before their chances of winning decrease in the years...

- MRintheKeys, on 05/09/2008, -2/+1Yeah isn't that funny given the age restrictions they have put in place. 4 out of the 5 guys on this list came straight out of high school.
- cizzymac, on 05/09/2008, -9/+1I'd take Amare over LeBron for 1st team this season. A glaring error on their part, especially considering his performance since the Suns acquired Shaq. Swap those two and I give it a big thumbs up.
- phyx726, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Amare is a power forward, Lebron is a small forward. So if he were to be in the 1st team he would have to be better than KG which he probably isn't. Amare has Steve Nash and plays a fast pace offense which results in a lot of points. Lebron runs the offense with no help and plays a relatively slow offense but still manages nearly a triple double per game.
- ronaldinho, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Well, what forward position they play in don't matter. The truth is that LeBron IS the Cavaliers, while the Suns has gone to the conference finals WITHOUT Amare. Put Amare on that Cavs team and they will be a lottery team, and I don't see Amare putting a 30-8-8 in a season. That is just absurd. LeBron is as superhuman a player as I have ever seen. Amare is NOT EVEN CLOSE.
- xtinamo, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1I'd take they guy whose team actually made it past the 1st round and didn't get nearly swept.

- cadmiumpaint, on 05/09/2008, -0/+5Lebron's a great player, but ONLY if he has someone else around him to help out. The Celtics have been writing the manual on how to shut him down (with the Spurs from last season) Jordan had Pippen. Lebron can't and won't do it alone.
- Timmaay, on 05/09/2008, -1/+3I do agree with you that the celtics are doing a great job keeping Lebron off track, but Jordan was ***** on people from the time he started playing with the Tar Heels, he didn't "need" anyone.
- H0mez, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1If Lebron went to college he'd be ***** all over people there too. Jordan wasn't doing this stuff when he was 21.....
And you always need someone, the Bulls had great role players. The cavs have Big Z, aka the Big slow - badave, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3He needed many someones to help him win a title. He was in the league for 6 years before he won, you know.

- SnuKs, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I'm sure they'll make a move for another big name in the offseason. I think Lebron is gonna pull a Kobe Summer of 07 and scare everyone in the front office along with his team to step it up in training.

Charles Barkley of the Phoenix Suns via trade from the Philadelphia 76ers
Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics

Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls
Christian Laettner of Duke University
Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz
Chris Mullin of the Golden State Warriors
Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls
David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs
John Stockton of the Utah Jazz- badave, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2Well, the 08 Dream Team is turning out to be something. It will likely be: Paul, Bryant, James, Howard, Anthony, Bosh, Stoudemire, Kidd, Williams, Redd, Chandler, and Billups.
- radiopayola, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2There are only 5 names on the '08 list that belong in the same company as even the lowest names on the list '92 list, and one of them (kidd) is a downwardly productive slide in the twilight of his career. That '92 list is full of superstars for all-time in their prime or in highly productive twilights of their respective careers.
- BetterOffEd, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Shoulda been Shaq instead of Laettner. Possibly the biggest miscast ever.
Could you imagine if that team had Shaquille as well?
.

- threemagic, on 05/09/2008, -4/+1All 3 levels or teams and no Pistons!??!! I hope that fires them up.
- badave, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2It's the top 5 players of the entire league. Really hard list to get onto and the Pistons players play as a team, so they are less likely to be recognized as individuals like those on this list.
- threemagic, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I realize my sentence wasn't verbose.. when I said 3 levels, I mean all-nba squad 1, 2, 3... it's not in the title but the do list 2nd team and 3rd team in the article... .so it's 15 players.
- webshowpro, on 05/09/2008, -0/+159 wins, and not a top 15 player seems a little strange....

- ronaldinho, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2The only gripe I have with that list is Paul Pierce on the Third instead of the Second team. He played better defense and gave up offense for the team even though he's the C's best offensive player and helped them to 66 wins. I like Dirk but the Mavs just weren't that good this year
I also had Chris Paul as MVP instead of Kobe (Hornets were even more of a surprise than the Lakers), but Kobe deserved it too. He's the one guy who can control the game anytime he wants to - Muligan21, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3Kobe just make sure you send a big thank you to Pau Gasol. Kobe's put up better numbers in his career than this season and the Lakers winning has very little to do with Kobe. He's been doing this statistically for years, not winning, whining, threatening to leave, and poof they get Gasol. They start winning. Gasol has 30 and 19 the other night and they talked about Kobe's performance. Get with it NBA... he's good, heck he's great but give credit where credit is properly due.
- mozzep, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1By that same token, if the lakers had gasol and not kobe, they would be in an even worse position than if they only had kobe and not gasol... look at Memphis over the past few years, they sucked.
It takes (at least) two great players on a team. The lakers are surprisingly lucky to have Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Bynum and a good bench. They are set for the next couple years while Kobe is in his prime. - kingvik, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Except the Laker's were winning this year before they got Gasol.
- vulgarrr, on 05/10/2008, -0/+0Muligan21, make sure you know what you're talking about before you go making statements like that. The Lakers were in first for a period of time without Gasol, before Bynum got injured. If Kobe should be thanking anyone, he should be thanking Mitch Kupchak for acquiring Pau Gasol and not trading Andrew Bynum.
- mozzep, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1By that same token, if the lakers had gasol and not kobe, they would be in an even worse position than if they only had kobe and not gasol... look at Memphis over the past few years, they sucked.
