- shaqtastic, on 11/15/2009, -0/+31Skipped college and went to play abroad for a year since the NBA adopted the rule of no drafting kids right out of high school. Just turned 20 and scores 55pts only 7 games into his NBA career. This kid has a bright future.
- DanteX, on 11/15/2009, -0/+24Really? You can't believe the Knicks made another bad decision with drafting a player?
- NecroSexy, on 11/15/2009, -0/+22adjusted to inflation, he actually scored 38 pts
- BillyB, on 11/15/2009, -4/+23Right now prep superstars are tearing up their letters of intent to top colleges and instead are ordering Rosetta Stone software.
NCAA, your time has passed. - jwvelez, on 11/15/2009, -0/+17You're aware you just quoted George ***** Lopez, right?
- DanteX, on 11/15/2009, -0/+12Thank god I picked him up on my fantasy teams.
- ZeeZee2k, on 11/15/2009, -0/+12Well, it's his 7th game, pretty damn impressive. I can't believe the Knicks passed on him.
- db0255, on 11/15/2009, -3/+14Ok...that was amazing, and everything was working for him. His shot, his drive, and his finish. But let's be real here...his jump shot delivery is way too slow for him to be the next Kobe. Once people find out about him, and lock him down with a really good defender, I fear he won't be doing this any longer. Go Bucks though!
- JustinLoether, on 11/15/2009, -3/+14GO BUCKS!
- mbching, on 11/15/2009, -0/+11he is 20year and 52days old
- JediCorran, on 11/15/2009, -7/+18none of them will beat pete maravich. he played fewer games and no 3 point rule. and wasn't able to play varsity his freshman year...

and yes i know it's not NBA. - DeskFlyer, on 11/15/2009, -0/+8I was watching the game last night while listening to the call on the radio and it was awesome. Ted Davis sounded like his vocal cords were going to explode. Definitely the most incredible performance I've ever seen during a Bucks game.
- iQAviDiQ, on 11/15/2009, -2/+10Really? One outstanding game to go along with a few solid games, and you're making a 10 year prediction?! Relax.....
- XBebop, on 11/15/2009, -0/+6Usually people can't believe it when the Knicks draft a good player.
- roxgod666, on 11/15/2009, -2/+8Another star is born. Savor this moment, he will probably be talked about for the next 10 years.
- Yargh, on 11/15/2009, -0/+4Also people barely played perimeter defense in those days.
- Yargh, on 11/15/2009, -1/+4Yeah, rookies go for 50 on a regular basis right?
- inefekt, on 11/16/2009, -0/+3So every great player in NBA history has had a super quick release on their jump shot?
- db0255, on 11/15/2009, -1/+4Forgot accurate sports commentary on Digg always gets dugg down. Seriously, watch a youtube of Kobe doing a jump shot. His release is way faster.
- saucy05, on 11/15/2009, -1/+4JJ Reddick averaged 34 pts in college, so yea college stats don't mean much in the NBA.
On the other hand we can take pete's actual stats in his first year in nba. 23 pts a game.
Best rookie of all time IMO is Oscar Robertson. The dude averaged almost triple double his rookie season! 30.5 points, 10.1 rebounds and 9.7 assists. and first team all-star.
Not saying pete wasn't great, let's just give credit where it's due. - ptFoe, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2The second coming of AI
- Diggchick83, on 11/19/2009, -0/+2Dang, i never knew that he was that good!! amazing!
- illspaz, on 11/18/2009, -0/+2and yes, you are blind. it's in the first paragraph.
- ihavetop, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2Yeah he couldn't get a high enough SAT score TWICE.... kinda sad.
- fqwgads, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2sucks for the teams that passed him up, especially the ones that need a good point guard. the grizzlies, kings, knicks, and raptors passed on him - the timberwolves passed on him twice.! then again, those are all fairly dysfunctional organizations...
i know drafting is a huge amount of guesswork, but this kid was the No. 1 prospect coming out of high school. even with his so-so year in europe, there had to be signs.
well, good for the bucks. this might just make up for them taking andrew bogut over chris paul and deron williams. - tomservo51, on 11/15/2009, -0/+2Nice, but once the league learns about him, they will start to double and play him a lot closer. Looks like he will definitely be a great player tho.
- kirualeorio, on 11/15/2009, -0/+2Come on, Jennings was playing against the warriors. lol
- db0255, on 11/16/2009, -1/+2Not at all. I realize that's a great generalization, but people are just raving about it him without realizing we've only seen him for 7 days; i.e. any defense has only seen him for 7 days. If you watch youtube of Kobe going for 50+, you'll see he's guarded much more closely, and he already has the ball up before they can react. Perhaps I haven't seen enough of his jump shot, but I would think from what I saw he needs to be quicker than that to have continued success.
Jennings' speed and ability to finish is another thing though. He looked real good in that department. - audrina22, on 11/16/2009, -0/+1I remember this 7th pick kid during draft day, That's not what he only broke for a rookie record..He's the first rookie to came out late in the draft stage to take pictures with David Stern while shaking hands as he enters the NBA officially. I believe he came out a couple of picks later when a late first round player was drafted and not present on the draft room at NY(a first on history that this happen). Why? his agent suggested him and his family not to come in NY stadium(as we all know where the draft event takes place) and stay at a hotel near the draft venue, since his agent was not sure if he would be taken that high on 7th, he was even thought off to be a second round draft pick(afraid of "rashard lewis draft day scenario": young lewis came at the televised draft event venue,) No only he came out the stage during another player's selection. He came out from the back stage along with stern. Usually selected players does that after taking pictures. So you see, just before he even signed his rookie contract, he's already breaking rookie records, amazing kid..Lol!
- robopuppy, on 11/16/2009, -0/+1arrrrghhh why couldn't he have just come to Arizona for even a season?
- shayben, on 11/15/2009, -0/+1Uhhh, not only did they included it.. they over elaborated.
- DRT23, on 11/15/2009, -5/+6Like George Lopez said...
"It doesn't count cause they didn't have to jump over black guys!" - m0n0kr0m3, on 11/20/2009, -0/+1It actually should have read: I usually don't care about grown men playing with their balls, but I have to admit that this kids athleticism is pretty impressive.
- RusskiGuy, on 11/18/2009, -0/+1I'm more impressed by his shooting percentage. That night he made 21/34, missing only one three pointer out of eight, which was actually better than his free throw shooting, where he missed two out of eight. So far, for the year he's shooting 53.8% and I'll be keeping an eye on this kid.
- m0n0kr0m3, on 11/16/2009, -0/+1I usually care about grown men playing with their balls, but I have to admit that this kids athleticism is pretty impressive.
- wallitron, on 11/16/2009, -1/+2He's 7 games into his NBA career. Nobody is saying he's the league MVP, he's a rookie. If he's showing this potential now and he improves, sky is the limit.
Being critical of a rookie that just dropped 55 makes you look like douche, regardless of his limitations. - brentjholmes, on 11/15/2009, -1/+1would be great if they included his age in an article that revolves completely around it.
- Swootz91785, on 11/22/2009, -0/+0Brandon Jennings is a future NBA All Star. Also, other 2009/2010 rookies that are doing good are Tyreke Evans and Darren Collison.
Digg Tyreke

SuperFan.com - jon31rm, on 11/15/2009, -11/+10LeBron scored 56 when he was 20 years and 80 days old. Jennings is 20 and 52 days old. So technically correct.
But please don't compare this kid's performance to Reggie or Kobe's legendary performances in the playoffs. As amazing as it was, it was the Bucks 7th game of the regular season. Against the Warriors. - diceau, on 11/16/2009, -2/+1They did. Learn to read.
- silentflight18, on 11/16/2009, -1/+0Everyone knew Lebron was gonna be great. Jennings came out of nowhere and he isn't a freak athlete like Lebron or Kobe. The way he attacks the basket reminds me Tony Parker, only Jennings has a better jumper. Pretty amazing performance from the little guy.
- Sewermutt, on 11/15/2009, -5/+3Maybe I'm just blind, but nowhere in this article did it mention his age...
- banksey, on 11/15/2009, -8/+5Technically he didn't skip college. He tried to get into UA and they were glad to have him because as you can see he is legit. The problem was that he couldn't score well enough on his SAT to get in.
- imbobbyus, on 11/15/2009, -6/+2Congratulations, Brandon!
- jryder, on 11/15/2009, -9/+2When you put up 34 shots, you're bound to sink a few of them if you're playing Golden State. This wasn't nearly as awesome as Nowitzki's 4th quarter rampage with the Mavs earlier this season, he was just unstoppable.
