- jfdolier, on 11/20/2008, -0/+8Fantasy Baseball Goal #1: Get drunk friends to draft Mike Mussina.
- blackbelt88, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5Sad to see him go, but I'm glad he ended on a high note. I would have liked to have seen Moose pick up a ring before he left. He did his time in Baltimore but they could never get past the Yankees, and then when he went to New York they couldn't win one either.
- jfdolier, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Maybe he's going undercover as AJ Burnett...
- AustinHannah, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4I had a poster of him on the Orioles in my bedroom.
GODSPEED, MIKE MUSSINA! - GLSmyth, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3The Orioles should have paid him a zillion dollars to stay.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -1/+4It's such a shame he never got to get a World Series ring. Such a great pitcher over his career. The big question now with him is, if he gets into the HOF, does he go in as an Oriole, where he spent 10 seasons, or a Yankee, where he spent the last 8 seasons of his career?
- jarretf, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3I know people aren't going to like this, but he was a real jerk to my sister. We saw him EARLY in his career with the Orioles in a bar in Towson, MD. Of course, she had a crush on him and it was her 21st birthday. She was too shy to say hi to him, so I did it for her. I asked if he minded if she came over to say hi and I explained it would mean a lot to her, it was her birthday, blah, blah, blah. He actually said "whatever". I overheard their conversation and he really was an a$$ to her. He was by himself, so it wasn't like she was interrupting him and she's not unattractive, so there was really no reason for him to act that way. Maybe he had a huge ego even early on.
Cal on the other hand, every time I've seen/talked to him, always a gentleman... - inactive, on 11/20/2008, -3/+6NO HES AN ORIOLE FOREVER
- doobiebrother, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3is it just me or are the Red Sox the new Yankees? As in all their fans are pricks.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -1/+3If it wasn't for Rivera's breakdown and the great performances from Schilling and Johnson in the 2001 World Series not only would Mussina have one that time around but The Boss wouldn't have gone nuts again and destroyed the character of the team (again!) by buying up as many stars as he could. The Yankees probably would've won several with Mussina.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -0/+2The town I grew up in used to have a Yankees AA team (now they have the Giants, unfortunately) and when I was a kid the big league guys would come up for rehab. There were lots of jerks, some who would actually go out a different door just to avoid signing autographs for kids. Some just signed a few and then bailed. Some walked right all the kids ignoring us all. Two bigger stars who weren't jerks were David Cone and Tim Raines. Both stayed until every kid got an autograph.
- PhilliesBlunt, on 11/20/2008, -0/+2Cal Ripken ftw!
- lupka, on 11/20/2008, -0/+2He'd get my Hall of Fame vote if I had one. One of the best pitchers of last 20 years that didn't use steroids.

- KibblesnBitts, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Say it isn't so!
- blueandgreen24, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1And Ricky Williams
- Enderplayer1, on 11/20/2008, -1/+2As a Padres fan I look forward to seeing Mike playing for us soon.
- Rethcir, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1Maybe he was just really busy or tired?
- misxn, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1knuckle curb FTW!
- NeoCortex, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1I can still get someone to draft Roger Clemens or Shilling in the last round most of the time
- sholter, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Actually up until he retired he was the active leader in wins against the Sox, so I'm glad to see him go. He was a class act though.
- Tegurit34, on 11/20/2008, -1/+1He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame but I have a feeling he's going to get Blyleven'd. I really think he has one more season in him, but I have great respect for a man who wants to retire on top instead.
- xpose, on 11/20/2008, -2/+1As a Yankee fan, we are still amazed that he won 20 games.
- cweber40, on 11/20/2008, -3/+2@jfdolier great idea!
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -4/+4great career, liked him way better in pinstripes than with the orioles
- mfed3, on 11/20/2008, -2/+1Hopefully this doesnt affect my oneseason.com account. Making mad loot.
- ripple01, on 11/20/2008, -7/+2Dear Moose,
Thanks for letting us kick the crap out of you for the last 8 years. We're sorry to see you go.
