- sheeplescareme, on 01/09/2009, -0/+284if that were my mom, she would have simply thrown it out.
- jordanlgta, on 01/09/2009, -4/+245Do the people writing these articles realize that they are talking about something in detail...but DO NOT HAVE A PICTURE OF IT? We want to see it. We don't want to read.

- ostracize, on 01/09/2009, -1/+117My Great grandmother flew on an airplane with The Beatles once. The four signed photos and handed them out to the other passengers on the plane.
She didn't know who these "nobodys" were or why they were giving out photos so she just threw them away. - blackrage, on 01/09/2009, -2/+78Meh...she'll just end up sending it to a Nigerian prince anyway.
- frmatc, on 01/09/2009, -2/+71$11
- DrVic, on 01/09/2009, -1/+70ugh, that hurts.
- EmitStop, on 01/09/2009, -5/+61Who sells something for 10 dollars anyway? Seems like more of a hassle than what you get out of it.
- DrVic, on 01/09/2009, -5/+49I get more action when I only charge $10 for handjobs under the highway overpass.
- Whorebane, on 01/09/2009, -0/+41I can't wait until people of the future start selling our useless crap for exorbitant amounts of cash.
- robEstyles, on 01/09/2009, -2/+41An entire collection of 80's Star Wars toys is in a Jersey landfill somewhere because of my mother
- Spade914, on 01/09/2009, -2/+41I love how it stipulates that this is a woman's doing.
- mikbunn, on 01/09/2009, -6/+43A proposed value would be nice, too.
- MrAsparagus, on 01/09/2009, -2/+39Wait... Whoa... Whoa.... Whoa.. Whoa.. Isn't that shortly after the dinosaurs went extinct?
- inactive, on 01/09/2009, -1/+351. eBay realizes sales are down because no one expects to find bargains there anymore
2. eBay plants news story about old lady auctioning rare artifact for a fraction of its actual worth
3. Masses go trolling eBay for bargains
4. Masses still don't find any great deals, but do pick up a couple of decent widgets
5. eBay gets to tell stockholders sales and traffic are up
6. ...
7. Profit - trdrstv, on 01/09/2009, -3/+36Mom?

- brstilson, on 01/09/2009, -6/+35Wait...baseball cards existed in 1869?
Baseball existed in 1869?
Wow. - EvilJon, on 01/09/2009, -1/+28Thousands of collections of 80's Star Wars toys are in Jersey landfills. The ones that aren't cost as much as they do because of the scarcity that overzealous mothers have created.
- tidu, on 01/09/2009, -1/+22First Edition Charizard! Start the bidding at $67,000!
- forceuser, on 01/09/2009, -4/+23So this is an article about someone almost doing something but in the end they didn't? Cool article there..
- ScottMitchell, on 01/09/2009, -1/+20Well, the article did say she considered starting the auction @ $15, but balked on the idea b/c eBay would have charged her an extra $0.20.
- veriix, on 01/09/2009, -1/+19"It could fetch up to low six figures at auction, according to collectors interviewed by The Fresno Bee."
- Zarokima, on 01/09/2009, -0/+18Except your mom.
- rgon, on 01/09/2009, -1/+19My heart is broken.
- DorkyMore, on 01/09/2009, -1/+18The fact that she owns an antique shop and didn't think to mark it higher is really puzzling.
- lanzemurdok, on 01/09/2009, -0/+16you win at the internet
- inactive, on 01/09/2009, -3/+19Yeah, the 6 other versions of this story already submitted over the last two days weren't enough. Lucky for us, a Digg "power user" doesn't know how to share one of those, and duped it yet again!
Buried for ruining Digg. - Darkangel754, on 01/09/2009, -2/+17...Dad?....
- FreddieD, on 01/09/2009, -0/+15Boy I'll say. This article was *way* more relevant back on January 7!

- dirtyfrog, on 01/09/2009, -0/+14@dragon76
Return of the Jedi was originally titled "Revenge of the Jedi." They changed it just before the release because the Jedi would not seek revenge so it didn't really fit. It was close enough to the release where they had already made posters for theaters. - ness0013, on 01/09/2009, -0/+14Anything that old is generally worth more than $10.
- hilo4321, on 01/09/2009, -0/+14uhh.. actually 'we' are never first... that's pretty much how digg works
- no2gates, on 01/09/2009, -1/+14
I wonder if she's looking to adopt a 46 year old who is already toilet trained. - andrewlotta, on 01/09/2009, -1/+14to an old woman, 10 dollars is not a lot of money today.
- immatellyouwhat, on 01/09/2009, -4/+16Old lady after eBay Auction , " I'm Rich Bitch! "
- gmiley, on 01/09/2009, -0/+11My mom pretty much knew better than to throw out my stuff, a lesson learned when my grandmother threw out my uncles and grandfathers baseball collectibles.
- lunachique, on 01/09/2009, -0/+11Yeah, my husband's grandma did that. She also pitched a box of unopened Revenge of the Jedi posters. *shudder*
- DulcetTone, on 01/09/2009, -0/+11A friend's parents were on their honeymoon and stayed in the same hotel in NYC as the Beatles on their first American tour. The newlyweds drove up in their limousine and were MOBBED. I think they drove off in a panic, and had to try approaching on foot as they gingerly tried to figure out what was going on.
- Vindexus, on 01/09/2009, -0/+11Well yeah, but think of how much money she'll have when his bank accounts are unfrozen.
- idavidtang, on 01/09/2009, -3/+13Saint Ferdinand of Vatican?
- ryelli, on 01/09/2009, -0/+10Agreed. I almost read it.

"The game is thought to have originated in England some time before 1755.."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball - cawpin, on 01/09/2009, -2/+11From the cincinnati.com article...
"Turns out the card isn't worth the $100,000 that was speculated upon in news outlets, but it could be worth as much as $20,000, according to Cincinnati collector Steve Wolter."
Oh damn, only $20k. - inactive, on 01/09/2009, -5/+14to an old woman, 10 dollars was a lot of money 70 years ago.
