Go Rockies! - Carsonauto, on 07/02/2009, -0/+10The Pacific League is an absolutely BRUTAL league for pitchers.
Brett Cecil had an era somewhere around 9.00, and when the Jays called him up he was lights out for every start except one.
Throwing a perfect game in that league is quite an achievement. - TruEKuma, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7Tons of people won't care about this just because its in the minors, Triple A ball is tough stuff don't think otherwise.
Guy looks to have a bright future, and the way the rockies are playing he couldn't be luckier to be affiliated with them. - made2k, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5being from Colorado and an avid Rockies fan, this is really good to hear. they may think of bringing him up soon depending on his past performances. maybe replace de la rosa or fill in as a relief until he settles in. depending on how corpas comes off the dl he may see some action.
- HouD, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3This could very well be the most retarded sports-related comment I've ever read in my life.
- bedake, on 07/02/2009, -1/+2Even more people wont care about this just because its baseball.
- badgerfight, on 07/05/2009, -0/+1that must have been a heavy game
- TruEKuma, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1A perfect game would imply that something about the game is perfect.
Why would it be perfect for 50-75% of the lineup to hit? - brownsound00, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Did not know that. I was looking at the Vegas lineup and their ERA is BRUTAL! I didn't even know how they could call any of those guys up! I think it actually works out great for the Jays, if what you say is true. If they are still really challenged down there, they are good to go when they come up. Good news for our young guys coming up.
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -3/+0he should pitch for the bears
- clickwir, on 07/03/2009, -4/+1I know I'm in the minority on this... but a "perfect" game (ie. with no hits) is one damn boring game.
To me, a "perfect" game, 50-75% of everyone at bat, makes some kind of contact that's IN PLAY (ie. not foul).
There's some excitement. Some action. Some randomness to an otherwise boring one sided fight.
