- tpv2066, on 10/25/2007, -59/+59Red Sox nation baby, I cant wait to see Beckett Game 1 at Fenway!!
- eatspie, on 10/29/2007, -20/+2Its all 'cos of Bush.
- dcollins, on 10/29/2007, -5/+9I was outside Fenway, and it was electric until the riot police broke things up.
- whiteninja, on 10/24/2007, -1/+3At least they didn't kill anyone this year.
- Snopes1, on 10/22/2007, -1/+0Yeah i was at that riot in 2004 and actually saw that cop that started shooting into the crowd. The cops on horses started freaking out because someone stabbed a bottle or knife into one the horses. Then all hell broke loose, with tear gas, rubber bullets, and charging lines of riot police into huge crowds of people. That was scary as ***** and I was surprised that more people didnt get hurt. Let's hope we stay safe this time!!
- whiteninja, on 10/24/2007, -1/+3At least they didn't kill anyone this year.
- cash0utcurse, on 10/29/2007, -16/+7ROCKIES are going to win it all....
- wtfpwned98, on 10/25/2007, -3/+6They'll probably do ok, but their winning streak is about to end.
- fabianp, on 10/25/2007, -12/+17Red Sox Nation my ass. Whoever coined that phrase is a douche.
- whiteninja, on 10/25/2007, -7/+4I'm a Red Sox fan, and I approve this message.
- soliloquiet, on 10/25/2007, -5/+6and the bandwagon just gets bigger. enjoy it, superfan.
- footodors, on 10/24/2007, -23/+50Man I"m going to be tired at work but it was worth it!
- ahoy, on 10/24/2007, -4/+17you're going to be tired at work for telling us about it an hour after the game.
- datastorageguy, on 10/29/2007, -3/+1I am dragging right now man...no amount of coffee is going to help.
- goldcityguy, on 10/27/2007, -40/+101Wow...Red Sox are truly the Anti-Yankees...they don't choke
- JD52, on 10/30/2007, -26/+87Yankees Suck!
- kjk437, on 10/25/2007, -39/+23If by anti-Yankees you mean wanna-be-Yankees. 2nd highest payroll in baseball? Yeah, I can tell the two teams stand for totally opposite things.
- Bing11, on 10/24/2007, -1/+6I've yet to hear of the Red Sox owners requiring a presidential pardon to avoid jail time. Yes, the Red Sox have a large salary, but the Yankees are over $200 million. Not even a close 2nd.
- kjk437, on 10/31/2007, -7/+2You guys paid $50 million just to talk to Dice-K. Case closed.
- Bing11, on 10/31/2007, -0/+1And "you guys" paid Roger Clemens more than $1 million PER GAME.
Yankee fans have no right to call another team overpriced, so shhhh.
- Bing11, on 10/31/2007, -0/+1And "you guys" paid Roger Clemens more than $1 million PER GAME.
- zioxide, on 10/25/2007, -1/+4And.. the Yankees would have bid even more if they knew the Sox had bid that much.
- kjk437, on 10/31/2007, -7/+2You guys paid $50 million just to talk to Dice-K. Case closed.

- gambit, on 10/29/2007, -20/+12Red Sox don't choke huh? Tell that to Bill Buckner.
- pudgyv, on 10/25/2007, -2/+9Let's pretend. Buckner catches the ball and makes the play at first base. Red Sox win, right? Nope. Game's tied and would have gone another inning. What happens next would be anybodies guess.
Leave that man alone. The choke happened before Buckner. Think Schiraldi, Stanley and to a limited degree Gedman.
- pudgyv, on 10/25/2007, -2/+9Let's pretend. Buckner catches the ball and makes the play at first base. Red Sox win, right? Nope. Game's tied and would have gone another inning. What happens next would be anybodies guess.
- Frei, on 10/29/2007, -3/+4Until a few years ago only the Buffalo Bills were second to them in choking.
- davewashere, on 10/25/2007, -0/+6Hey, wait a second, I'm a Bills fan and I can say that my team has nev... *cough* *gag* goddamnchickenbonecaughtinmythroat... death
- ronaldinho, on 10/29/2007, -3/+7well they don't choke anymore......but they used to be chokers though. It seems once we beat the Yankees in 2004 we have passed the choking symptoms to them too, which is just fine with me
- Pronoun, on 10/29/2007, -5/+10Come on really, 86 years without a World Series win.Are you telling me they never choked? And how many ALCS game have they blown.
Tip the cap to them, they are the best team this year. - orlyfactor, on 10/27/2007, -7/+3It's so funny that you define your team by using the Yankees. Jealous of all their championships? How many do the BoSox have vs. the "choker" Yankees, huh? Tell me about choking after you figure that out, genius.
- pudgyv, on 10/24/2007, -1/+1Cue Janet Jackson, "What Have You Done For Me Lately?"
- echolyean, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1I don't think you can mention choking without bringing up what happened to the Mets this year... oh man, haha. What the hell happened there? Good thing I'm a Sox fan. I was looking forward to a Sox/Mets series though. Would have been a good rematch.
- Query3, on 10/24/2007, -18/+25Nice comeback.
- BrokenVisage, on 10/22/2007, -1/+4The jerk store just called...
- exoendo, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1what's the difference you're their all time best seller!
- cVioletteRun, on 10/24/2007, -6/+92Should be a fun World Series to watch. Who has more momentum going into the series? The Rockies, who haven't lost in the postseason and have won 21 of 22, but won't have played in over a week come Wednesday? Or the Red Sox, who came back from down 3 games to 1 and outscored the Indians 30-5 in the last 3 games? Should be exciting.
- sjbdallas, on 10/24/2007, -5/+23i think both teams are scrappy enough to make it go 7 games.
- dohidied, on 10/29/2007, -3/+7I just want something more exciting than the 2004 sweep. I can't wait to see how this one goes.
- eatspie, on 10/29/2007, -24/+1IT'S ALL 'COS OF BUSH!!
- medic350, on 10/24/2007, -0/+7Shut up! We saw your comment the first time...it wasn't funny then, and it isn't funny now.
- kiiwii, on 10/24/2007, -1/+6As a sox fan, I say the heck with excitement, I'm hoping for another sweep!
- eatspie, on 10/29/2007, -24/+1IT'S ALL 'COS OF BUSH!!
- haleym, on 10/22/2007, -1/+1"...but won't have played in over a week come Wednesday?"
FYI, no team with 5+ days of rest between the pennant win and the Series start has ever lost the Series (though this is the first time a team has had 8 days rest).
- RedS0x, on 10/24/2007, -21/+28Wow I'm so tired...but it was soo worth it. Good job Pap! I'm so excited (and nervous)
- iPood, on 10/24/2007, -39/+13Yeah, good job to Papelbon for holding on to that NINE RUN LEAD! That was a real nail biter at the end. ***** the Red Sox.
- ktchpmn, on 10/24/2007, -4/+20too bad he entered the game BEFORE they had that huge lead. he helped the red sox get out of a bases loaded jam. THEN he held onto the huge lead in the 9th. obviously you missed the top of the 8th, dumbass.
- iPood, on 10/27/2007, -25/+4Oh, sorry, he held on to a 3 run lead for an inning before holding on to the 9 run lead. Yeah, he really deserves a save for that. And no, I didn't miss the top of the 8th.
- pixelate, on 10/22/2007, -1/+11Holding on to a 3 run lead in that situation is defined as a save. It's not something you 'deserve' or not. Wouldn't expect a Yankees fan to know the actual rules though.
- iPood, on 10/22/2007, -9/+2I know the rules of a save, what I mean is the rules for a save suck and don't always indicate how good a closer is, and sometimes what is defined as a save really shouldn't be. Remember back when the Orioles lost to the Rangers 30-3? The Rangers pitcher who finished the game (don't know his name off hand) picked up a save because his team won and he held the lead for the final 3 innings of the game. You're telling me the rules for a save aren't somewhat flawed?
- Bing11, on 10/23/2007, -1/+3Wow, you really DON'T know the rules, do you? The Ranger pitcher did NOT get a save since the Rangers were ahead more than 3 runs when he entered the game. Papelbon came in the 8th with 2 on, no outs, 3 run lead. Not allowing a run to score -- how was that NOT good pitching?
- seandaly, on 10/24/2007, -1/+5Someone is a poor loser :(
- iPood, on 10/31/2007, -5/+2Actually Bing, he really did get the save. Here is the box score from that game. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=2708 ... See that S next to Littleton's name? Yeah, that means he got a save. Regardless of score, if you pitch the last 3 innings of a game with your team winning and keep the lead, you get a save. So much for trying to prove your baseball knowledge...
- davdev, on 10/31/2007, -1/+1IPood is correct. Anytime you finish the last 3 innings of the game you get the save regardless of how far up you were at the time. Of course that assumes your team was winning when you entered and did not relinquish that lead at anytime
- cVioletteRun, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1The rules for determining one stat may be "flawed", but those are the rules. Sure, someone may get an undeserved save from time to time in those circumstances, but most of the time a save is legit. Don't take away from a guy like Papelbon's previous accomplishments simply based on holding a large lead in one game. There have probably been plenty of times that Rivera has come in and held a substantial lead, but those few times don't take away from the fact that he is one of the greatest closers ever to play the game.
- iPood, on 10/23/2007, -19/+6And also, there was no bases loaded jam that Papelbon managed to get out of, so maybe you weren't watching all that closely.
- eatspie, on 10/27/2007, -18/+0IT'S ALL 'COS OF BUSH!!
- Bkaufman, on 10/23/2007, -2/+9Somebody's a bitter yankee fan. The 20th century was the yankees century. The 21st is the sox. Pretty soon we will be up 2-0 on you in WS victories, and your team is falling apart...Torre gone, ARod, Posada, and Mariano are next.
- barandon0D9, on 10/23/2007, -2/+8regardless of what parts of the game you may or may not have seen, you're still a douche bag.
- iPood, on 10/27/2007, -25/+4Oh, sorry, he held on to a 3 run lead for an inning before holding on to the 9 run lead. Yeah, he really deserves a save for that. And no, I didn't miss the top of the 8th.
- dcollins, on 10/26/2007, -3/+13Yea as opposed to Rivera, who is holding his recliner down right now.
- osko2052, on 10/23/2007, -4/+9Obviously a Yankees fan. Guess money won't buy victory. Quote from George Steinbrenner>>>WAAAAAH It's my turn to win the World Series. I paid for it. WAAAHH
- soliloquiet, on 10/26/2007, -3/+3yeah, real fans here, Real Sox fans who have no ***** clue what theyre talking about. Money, Money, Money. Thats what youve got? Were you reading a USA Today from 2000? Might wanna check the Sox payroll numbers too you ***** bandwagin morons.
- ktchpmn, on 10/24/2007, -4/+20too bad he entered the game BEFORE they had that huge lead. he helped the red sox get out of a bases loaded jam. THEN he held onto the huge lead in the 9th. obviously you missed the top of the 8th, dumbass.
- iPood, on 10/24/2007, -39/+13Yeah, good job to Papelbon for holding on to that NINE RUN LEAD! That was a real nail biter at the end. ***** the Red Sox.
- mjl5629, on 10/24/2007, -59/+17When you have the 2nd highest salary in MLB you get calls like Lofton out at second. Congrats to MLB for making a couple more bucks. MLB is just as corrupt as the US Government. Might as well bring Blackwater out of the bullpin for the ninth inning.
- JD52, on 10/27/2007, -9/+25Ooop.... It's a Yankees fan. Go back to your hole.
- Insomniac33, on 10/23/2007, -2/+22The Indians ***** themselves over in that game. They had a chance in the 7th but Lofton, Blake, and the 3rd base coach all collectively blew it.
- Yesplease, on 10/27/2007, -5/+371) it's a bullpen, not bullpin.
2)of the four teams in the LCS only one was in the top half of salary.
3) Umpires get things wrong all the time, going both ways, and lofton being out does not score you 11 runs
4) you must be a truther. Where did the US government have anything to do with a story about the Red Sox?
Buried as: the fissures in my colon have more sense than you.- cheesehead, on 10/22/2007, -2/+2Buried for sullying baseball with truther attacks
- iPood, on 10/24/2007, -7/+8Dude, I hate the Red Sox, but that call didn't exactly ***** the Indians over, they went on to lose by 9 runs. Oh, and they had a 3-1 lead in the series...
- seandaly, on 10/24/2007, -1/+5Yeah, we can tell by your earlier posts that you hate the Red Sox.
- RedS0x, on 10/24/2007, -0/+2I buried you because you're a Yankees fan, even though your comment was completely rational. :-D
- eatspie, on 10/22/2007, -16/+0IT'S ALL 'COS OF BUSH!!
- ThrobbingBrain, on 10/22/2007, -1/+4I officially hate you now. Blocked.
- brufleth, on 10/22/2007, -2/+1Where you watching the series? The Indians' pitchers LOVE to play the corners of the strike zone and half the time I think the umps were just getting bored with calling balls. Bad calls were definitely made both ways. That's part of the game and it isn't like the one out would have made a difference.
- drastik21, on 10/22/2007, -1/+3Boston Red sox's 2nd highest paid team
Cleveland Indians 17th highest paid them
Give it up for the Indians, they did really good for the budget they get.
Common, Boston payed 55 million just to talk to a pitcher from Japan.
- lik3n, on 10/22/2007, -11/+15Grats to them!

- IpecacNeat, on 10/28/2007, -1/+2*****. I live in Kenmore and work at Fenway. It wasn't as bad as everyone making it out to be. There weren't "riots". There were people in the streets celebrating, but nothing close. The cops had a tight lid on things this year. Brookline ave, Landsowne st. Van ness st. and kenmore square were all closed. There were a lot of people but no riots. Stop sensationalizing it.

- dannyboy3020, on 10/27/2007, -34/+14I really wanted the Indians to win, just to show up those arrogant Red Sox fans. Digg me down, I expect nothing else!
- sjbdallas, on 10/22/2007, -6/+2The indians can blame their loss on Blake and the shortstop (p-something). Those 2 collectively blew so many plays it was ridiculous.
- appetite, on 10/22/2007, -1/+9I am a lifelong Sox fan and I have to say, it's been bittersweet to see so many Sox fans come out of the woodwork. I remember staying up way too late on school nights and not getting homework done just to later cry myself to sleep after another clutch Yank comeback midseason. I remember maintaining a stone cold demeanor in the 9th inning of Game 7 of the ALCS in 2004 because I knew there'd be some sort of power outing or alien spaceship landing to screw the whole thing up. Now everyone in the freakin' world is a Sox fan and tries to soften their R's just a bit to feign some degree of credibility. I love the Sox and I always will. I'm also programmed to hate you for your comment (which I do wholeheartedly), but I have to admit that the 'arrogant' part does resonate with me at least a little bit--and it's something totally new. You are not wrong. However, I hope you slip on a bottle of Sam Adams and hurt your vagina.
- Jeffler, on 10/22/2007, -2/+3Possibly the best thing I've ever read
- dizkriz, on 10/22/2007, -3/+3Agreed, I'm from Portland ME and I am totally annoyed at how many people have all the sudden become sox fans. Where were you guys when the sox choked every year? Probably rooting for the yanks. True New englanders have a strong history of supporting our teams through the good times and the bad, hell I still follow the B's for crying out loud.
- Jeffler, on 10/22/2007, -2/+3Possibly the best thing I've ever read

- badenglishihave, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2So true. I loved the shot of Ortiz hugging Pedroia and hitting Ellsbury on the noggin on their way back to the dugout. Everybody contributed this series, from the veterans to the rookies.
- RogueX, on 10/27/2007, -6/+39"The Drive" "The Shot" "The Fumble" "The Blown Save" "The Sweep" "The Sun" "The Braves" now..... drum roll.... "The Collapse"... I really hope I see a Cleveland championship before I die
- redfan, on 10/27/2007, -5/+24Even though I'm a Sox fan, I really do feel bad for you guys in Cleveland. I hope it happens soon.
- pixelate, on 10/23/2007, -3/+8Other than Boston (Patriots dominating, Sox going to the WS, Celtics about to have the biggest wins-losses turnaround in NBA history), Cleveland's doing pretty well for itself. The Browns are competing when no one expected them to, the Cavs were in the Finals and the Indians just played their asses off.
I'm a Sox fan but I was scared to death this series, you guys will be back. Hey, if Travis Hafner had shown up this might have been a different story... the series couldn't have been any closer.- Sunking278, on 10/22/2007, -1/+4Yeah, hats off to Cleveland. They beat the Yankees, and took our Sox to seven games. Remember, Indians fans, it was 86 years between championships for the Red Sox, so your day will come. Pixelate, you forgot to mention the Boston College Eagles are number two in the country. It's a shame their huge game against Virginia Tech on Thursday night is going to be completely ignored. And even the Bruins are having a good start to their season. So, yes, this is a sweet time to be alive for Boston sports fans!

- wheelzr, on 10/22/2007, -3/+9I am so upset with my life right now. cleveland has come so far to get choked out so many times. and we are not the annoying team that has ***** people playing for them, the indians are a tight knit pack of stand up dudes, maybe if the indians had double the money to spend on big players we could be a dynasty, unfortunatly the red sox 140 million dollar team eventually got our 63 million dollar team. ***** my life.
- Drazzard, on 10/22/2007, -2/+1you guys forgot Red Right 88

- seandaly, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2I'm going to kick your mother in the Vagina! STOP!
- freakk123, on 10/22/2007, -0/+5The rest of the playoffs have sucked. This series, however, was pretty damn good (and this is coming from a completely heartbroken Indians fan). Though, it was pretty predictable, the Indians (and Cleveland teams in general) are pretty averse to winning when it counts.
- Rustbelt, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2It's true. I'm a die hard Browns and Indians fan but no one snatches defeat from the jaws of victory like a team from Cleveland. On the plus side when it it finally does happen the victory will be sweet.
- JD52, on 10/22/2007, -0/+5What planet are you from anyways?
- brufleth, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2Yeah last nights game really let Pedroia and Youkilis shine. Cleveland pitchers really knew how to work the edges of the strike zone and I think Pedroia's height really gave him an edge by making his strike zone that much smaller. Still it is a little disconcerting to see Papi go 0 for 5.
- skinjob1, on 10/22/2007, -17/+1Worst playoffs in recent memory. Complete sleeper. I guess others agree because the rating are in the worst on record.
- brad995, on 10/28/2007, -30/+53What is up with all the Redsox haters digging everybody down who likes the Redsox?
Go Redsox- Niallgriff, on 10/27/2007, -6/+27LETS GO SOOOOOOOOX!
- redfan, on 10/23/2007, -10/+22Yankee fans with nothing better to do. They're also bitter about the Knicks and Jets.
- Drazzard, on 10/26/2007, -14/+9No. It's not yanks fans that are doing it. When is boston going to realize that the Red Sox ARE the new yanks. a 140 mill budget. If you DONT win the world series, its a colossal failure. Congratulations on buying your wins fellas. You've made yourselves just as bad as your arch rivals.
- Bing11, on 10/26/2007, -1/+8Last I checked, no Red Sox owner needed a presidential pardon to escape jail. Don't compare the Red Sox to the evil empire until you know your history.
- Sunking278, on 10/23/2007, -1/+4Hey, at least the Giants are winning, so they got that going for them. GO SOX!!!
- dizkriz, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2Im digging down supposed "SOX" fans who i can tell are band wagoners like the above person who claims that the sox are the anti Yankees because they never choke... ARE YOU NUTS!? where have you been the last 85 years. I was born and raised in NE and as such have gone through the great times and the crap times, obviously more of the latter. So excuse me for getting a little annoyed at people who just happen to start being "Lifelong sox fans" because they are doing well for a change. Leave my team alone!
- Rileyper, on 10/23/2007, -1/+1There are 30 MLB teams and the red sox only take up 1 team socket. therefore i think that 29/30 HATE TEH RED SOX its not rocket science. and if your for (ex. white sox) and say your rooting for the red sox, then your just a stupid SELL-OUT!!!
(god thats like a cardinal rooting for the cubs in the world series)- drachemorder, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1Uh... I'm a Braves fan first and foremost. But I also like the Red Sox. It's possible to not hate all the other teams besides your own, ya know.
I do, however, hate the Yankees.
- drachemorder, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1Uh... I'm a Braves fan first and foremost. But I also like the Red Sox. It's possible to not hate all the other teams besides your own, ya know.
- doubleblack, on 10/22/2007, -10/+23Despite being in Cleveland, the Indians really truly should of won...but our entire team didn't show up at all for games 5, 6, and 7; Starters, Sizemore, Hafner (really sucked ass), Lofton, just to name a few. Sometimes the best team doesn't win, but in this series Boston was the better team.
- Bossman1086, on 10/23/2007, -1/+5While I see where you're coming from, I disagree that you should have won. You didn't deserve to win...you said it yourself - your team didn't show up for the last 3 games. Not trying to be a jerk of a Sox fan...it was a great series.
- likeyehokwhatev, on 10/23/2007, -7/+18Oh man this is going to be a fun October.
- sjbdallas, on 10/22/2007, -0/+13Actober. you must have missed the commercials Fox plays every break.
- redfan, on 10/22/2007, -1/+22I can't remember, how many Octobers are there?
- alittleroy101, on 10/22/2007, -0/+10I hear there is only one.
- freakk123, on 10/22/2007, -1/+15If Dane Cook could just drop off the face of the earth, I'd be pretty content with life.
- Rustbelt, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2There's only one October. until, you know, next year.
- CharlesSaint007, on 10/27/2007, -9/+25Well, Kenny Lofton is going to be pissed when he watches the tape and sees the poor call made against him at second, and the fact that he was held up at third to score the tying run when he clearly should have gotten the go ahead. That might have changed the whole outcome. But I guess that's baseball...
- sjbdallas, on 10/22/2007, -6/+72 runs in an 11 to 2 ballgame? unlikely.
- Wingman007, on 10/22/2007, -1/+14I'm a Sox fan who is really pumped, but 2 runs that early would have really shifted the momentum, and that's huge in baseball. Adding lost runs to the score doesn't work that simply.
- Giggy, on 10/23/2007, -2/+9Say what you will - I won't disagree that it was a bad call - but Cleavland collapsed in the bottom 8th. Defensively they had enough chances in that inning to keep it a close game. The Red Sox stuck with it and they are going to the World Series because of it.
- brufleth, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3They bumped into each other in left field on an easy pop fly out... It was like the three stooges were fielding. That was a bad call but Cleveland didn't bring their A-game last night.
- davewashere, on 10/22/2007, -0/+6One strange thing about that play at second that the broadcasters didn't even mention was that Lofton appeared to come off the bag as he slid over it while the tag was still on him. The out call was a quick one and clearly the ump was calling him out on the initial tag and not for coming off the base, but from the views I saw it looked like the end result should have been an out call anyway.
Joel Skinner did screw him over by holding him up in the 8th inning. Skinner has to have played and coached in Fenway enough times to know what happens to those balls down the 3rd base line. He should have been looking over to where Lugo was going on that ball. Lugo did not charge hard into left field after it, so it was pretty clear that Manny was going to have to get it, in which case you send the runner because Manny would not be in a position to make a strong throw to the plate.- davdev, on 10/22/2007, -0/+2I noticed the same thing. Even if he beat the throw he would have been out because he came off the base while Pedroia was holding the tag.
- seandaly, on 10/23/2007, -2/+3Wow, I agree... That one call and the potential 2 runs cost them the whole series! /Sarcasm
Look, games 2-3-4, Cleveland stepped up their game and Boston choked up. Games 5-6-7, Cleveland fell asleep and Boston picked up the bats. Also, I think Boston's bullpen was just a bit deeper than Cleveland, which made the difference.
What it really came down to was Matsuzaka, who got his ass handed to him throughout the post season but finally found a groove last night. If he had bombed again, it'd be Cleveland in the WS.
- sjbdallas, on 10/22/2007, -6/+72 runs in an 11 to 2 ballgame? unlikely.
- jayrck81, on 10/23/2007, -17/+23Yeah Sox!!

- kjk437, on 10/22/2007, -3/+2Oh, it's not just Yankees fans, although it would be typical of Yankees/Red Sox fans to think they're the only two teams in baseball.
- ronaldinho, on 10/22/2007, -0/+6Yankees fan? I'm sorry, at least we beat this good Indians team that you didn't beat

- freakk123, on 10/22/2007, -1/+5Yeah, like that "Yeah Sox!!" comment two above this one that has been is at +5 Diggs? Totally dugg down, I see what you mean.
- tacotruck08, on 10/22/2007, -16/+22If the rockies can hold their momentum of 21 won of 22 games, they will be unbeatable in the world series...
- zioxide, on 10/22/2007, -4/+16Their problem is they haven't played in a week and a half, and they have to face Beckett in Game 1.
- alittleroy101, on 10/22/2007, -6/+7We crushed Beckett at Fenway earlier this year.
- Touchyourself, on 10/23/2007, -0/+0Regular season means nothing now. The Yankees swept the Indians in the regular season 6-0, how did that work out for them in October.
- yourmightyruler, on 10/22/2007, -7/+3Beckett has nothing on Francis.
Best fielding percentage in baseball. Fewest errors in baseball. Enough said.- pixelate, on 10/22/2007, -3/+7Really? That's what you're going to go with? Rockies fielding percentage at .989 and Red Sox at .986 (third in the majors) is what decides the World Series?
- Sunking278, on 10/22/2007, -1/+2Yeah, IF being the keyword there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking the Rockies lightly at all. They are not going to lay down like the St. Louis Cardinals did three years ago. Sox in seven.
- Shiner6, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1I sure hope so. I'd love to see them win it at Fenway.
- haleym, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1The Rockies averaged more runs per game against Beckett than any other team in baseball this year (also, as I mentioned above, every team that's had 5 days or more off before the Series has won it, so historically that's not been much of an issue).
- davdev, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1They played one game against him so using an average score is sort of meaningless.
And while I admire what the Rockies are doing, the Philies and D-Dacks are not exactly worldbeaters. - gopher043, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1So playing Beckett once is enough to solidify an opinion? Nope. Now the Rockies get to meet Mr. Postseason. Beckett always kicks it up a notch in these games.
- davdev, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1They played one game against him so using an average score is sort of meaningless.

- AdverseEntropy, on 10/22/2007, -16/+26Rocktober. Bitches.
- onwardknave, on 10/22/2007, -3/+5You do realize that the Colorado Rockies applied for a trademark on the word "Rocktober," aren't you? As a Red Sox fan, however, I'm still annoyed that Larry Lucchino is corporatizing the entire Red Sox fan base by making an "official" version of "Red Sox Nation," complete with discount card, tickets, and the works. I love the Red Sox, but I have really begun to open my eyes to Cape League baseball as a result of this massive marketing engine. Rocktober, please.

- koheed, on 10/27/2007, -35/+16***** the Red Sox Nation and their band wagon. I'm sick of hearing about it. I hope the Colorado beats the snot out of them.
- Wingman007, on 10/22/2007, -5/+12It's not a bandwagon if you've been there all along. Trust me, as a Sox fan, almost everyone you hear cheering is a true fan. Yeah, there's a few pink-hats, but you get that with any team. The number of people cheering now is pretty much the same number that were crying in '03. We're born into this.
- onwardknave, on 10/23/2007, -0/+6Many of my female friends had pink hats years before the phrase "pink hat" became derrogatory, and have been fans even longer (years, decades). But also -- why even disrespect the alleged bandwagon fans? They are simply newly exposed to the rich history of the team. Inclusion, FTW!
- Bing11, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4As a Red Sox fan since my birth in '86, I'm with you. Bandwagoners do get a little annoying, but one of the things that makes Red Sox fans so great is how we cheered for Lugo to end his slump, instead of attempting to boo him off the team. I think the same "open arms" policy should be included to Red Sox Nation. Welcome newcomers!
- d0nkeyBOB, on 10/23/2007, -0/+4I'll have to admit. I just moved to Boston a year ago. I never followed baseball before that much. Watching a game here and there . . . .When i moved here, I started watching the Sox day one of the season. I even went to Fenway five times waiting in line five hours at a time to get tickets.. So maybe i did kinda jump on the "band wagon", but I don't care . . .I love the Sox! GO SOX!!!
- onwardknave, on 10/23/2007, -0/+6Many of my female friends had pink hats years before the phrase "pink hat" became derrogatory, and have been fans even longer (years, decades). - stubear, on 10/22/2007, -5/+10Pedro-yah the Destro-yah baby!!! Unbelievable being there at the game tonight and witnessing the Sox clench teh ALCS. I missed that in 2004 since we had to win on the road. Here's hoping they can win the World Series too (just don't spot thr Rockies 3 games like you did in 2004 with the Yankees and 2007 with the Indians - my heart can't take it)
- redfan, on 10/22/2007, -1/+3VOTE FOR PEDROIA

I need a hug.- onwardknave, on 10/22/2007, -2/+18Your 2007 Indians were indeed worthy adversaries. I commend you for sticking with them, and your team for playing with the inner fire deserving of a champion.

- Wendigo6x3, on 10/23/2007, -0/+5as a native clevelander and osu student, im right there with you. im sick of my team being number 2 (2nd in AL at least...)
.- orlyfactor, on 10/26/2007, -1/+1Dude you live in Ohio, I'd think you'd be more depressed about THAT (and yes, I went to OSU for a year, and got the hell out while I still could...that place is a culture vacuum.)

- cr4wl3r, on 10/22/2007, -15/+17***** YEA SOX!!!
- Billiam627, on 10/25/2007, -15/+23To iPood and any other Yankee QQ-ers out there, you can digg us down all you want, the fact remains that our guys are playing in October, and yours are watching on TV. So yeah, cry more...
- Ar5eNiC, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1It's ok, "your guys" were watching on TV for quite a few years...
- ike6116, on 10/23/2007, -11/+13If we win the series I might forgive Manny for his September vacation.
What a great crowd at Fenway tonight too, "Na na na, na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" in the 8th inning, classic.- moosenut754, on 10/22/2007, -1/+1I was there. Best night ever :)
- gopher043, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1Having Manny take a short "leave of abscence" was to the best of the club. They got to bring up Jacoby "the Kid" Ellsbury and we got to watch him play. Seeing him when he was with the Dog Sox in Portland and then seeing him finally get a start in place of Manny then in games 5 and 6 were priceless.
- soliloquiet, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1classically classy.
douchebags
- m4ttjirM, on 10/22/2007, -2/+12Good job holding lofton at 3rd !!! He could've easily made it.. That could of tied it and let them have a few more chances to come back before the red sox unleashed the ultimate ass beating... I thought that ball YOOK hit was going out of the park !
- stubear, on 10/22/2007, -0/+5It would have if there wasn't a HUGE FRICKING COKE BOTTLE hanging off the left field light posts.
- delgotit99, on 10/22/2007, -8/+26CHOKE!!!!
- bills534, on 10/23/2007, -4/+2Are you asking for someone to choke you? Id be happy to help you with that jackass.
- Rustbelt, on 10/23/2007, -2/+3The two best teams in the AL just went seven games to decide who was going to the series. You call that choking? I call that damn good baseball, and I'm an Indians fan.
- Rileyper, on 10/23/2007, -1/+2Sell out!!!
- charlesazn, on 10/23/2007, -8/+15looks like its only a 3-year curse this time
- Rileyper, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1too bad you just jinxed the team...better have a chunk of wood to knock on
- echolyean, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1The curse to have been transfered back to the Yankees. Probably when Damon went over. Johnny Damon, the Trojan Horse. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make the post season at all next year, with all the chaos that's going on with them now.
- frobozz0, on 10/23/2007, -15/+7GO SAWX!!!!!! This is is best collapse in post season history second only to the great Yankees Ass Handing of '04. What a decade to be a BoSox fan. I wonder if we'll get a repeat of the early 20th century in the 21st?! Hard to believe it's been that long.
I really feel bad for the Rockies. I give them 5, maybe 6 games at most. Granted the Cardinals in '04 didn't have a prayer but you can never truly predict a sweep.- freakk123, on 10/22/2007, -1/+5Best collapse in post season history? Please. You seem to be blind to the fact that teams have collapsed, just as badly, when playing a team that's not the Sox. Still, as an Indians fan it was ***** brutal.
Not gonna argue with you about '04 though, great time to be a Yankee hater in NY. - ronaldinho, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3Feel bad for the Rockies? I'm a Sox fan and I'm leery of them. But from a purely baseball point of view it will be a GREAT series
- jpaolini, on 10/23/2007, -0/+4Agreed, AND we won't have to hear Tim McCarver ramble on about how the Yankees are doing.
- freakk123, on 10/22/2007, -1/+5Best collapse in post season history? Please. You seem to be blind to the fact that teams have collapsed, just as badly, when playing a team that's not the Sox. Still, as an Indians fan it was ***** brutal.

- endustry, on 10/22/2007, -1/+12No *****. If I have to hear him say Awk-Toe-Burr one more time I'm gonna set his gelled-up head on fire.

- brufleth, on 10/22/2007, -0/+14TRANSFORMERS
- badenglishihave, on 10/22/2007, -0/+3No no, don't you get it? They TRANSFORMED the screen to transition between live play and replays.
- datastorageguy, on 10/23/2007, -1/+9At least Fox stopped playing "Cleveland Rocks" during each commercial break.
- Shiner6, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Apparently they don't.
- echolyean, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1I know, what the hell was up with that? They were playing that song even @ Fenway when Cleveland was losing bad. Denial much?
- jpaolini, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4I hate Fox broadcasts. Between playing Cleveland Rocks every inning even when they're getting destroyed, that idiotic Dane Cook commerical, and Tim McCarver just being retarded, it's very tempting to turn on the AM radio and listen to it while the TV is on mute.
- zioxide, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4THERE IS ONLY ONE OCTOBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG
- orlyfactor, on 10/22/2007, -0/+3Dane Cook is the worst actor/comedian ever.
- rhombusleech, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1Those TBS commercials for that show Frank making fun of it were great. "You mean there are people out there that think there is more than one October?!"
- Namakemono, on 10/23/2007, -13/+23Go Rockies!
- freakk123, on 10/22/2007, -0/+38Well, depressing time to be an Indians fan. We ***** it up hardcore, couldn't put it away when it was there for us.
That being said, at least we lost to the Sox and not the Yankees. Hopefully it'll be a good series.- ST0N3, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4the indians are young... they're going to be contenders in the AL central for years to come, and at the current pace (white sox = rebuilding, tigers = overconfident, twins = ?) you guys are going to be back in it next year.
- echolyean, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I'm a Sox fan, but I was cheering on Cleveland as if I was a fan of theirs when they played the Yankees. I'm glad they took care of them and got them out of it early. Nice going. It was also nice to see Trot Nixon play again. I don't mind that he got some good hits off the Sox now that the Sox have won the series.
- HandsomeRuss, on 10/22/2007, -21/+19The RSN bandwagon is probably the worst in all sports.
- seandaly, on 10/22/2007, -2/+3No... It's the millions of fans that have to wear the hats / jersey of the "winning team". They're not real fans... Those same worthless humans wore Yankees ***** and cheered for NY during their reign.
I was born 3 miles from Downtown Boston and have been a Sox fan since I knew what baseball was... There are many more like me! Most Sox fans have been here for years and will continue to be when we finish in last place a few years from now. - wilkinnh, on 10/22/2007, -1/+3I'm with seandaly, i've been a sox fan all my life. that includes every single heart-breaking year up until they won the world series. i'm not a big fan of bandwagon fans either, but you can't say that red sox nation is just a bandwagon collection. it's much more than that, my friend.
- soliloquiet, on 10/22/2007, -2/+1please...get realistic. I lve in Charleston, SC and all of a sudden, the Sox fans have magically sprouted in the past three years. Coincidence? Fear of reprisal before 04? *****. This is hordes of douchebags who longingly want to join the "Nation" of scruffy assholes who apparently gave scumbaggery a cool image. Its the same in every city.
- seandaly, on 10/22/2007, -2/+3No... It's the millions of fans that have to wear the hats / jersey of the "winning team". They're not real fans... Those same worthless humans wore Yankees ***** and cheered for NY during their reign.
