- patricks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I've met Scooter many times at the local deli on the Jersey Shore. He was a great Yankee, a great broadcaster, but most importantly just a wonderful guy.
We'll miss you Scooter. - ewick1964, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I had the good fortune to meet Phil while on vacation in Florida some years back. My father and I were on the elevator going from the parking garage up to the lobby. It was the funniest thing, I stared and it dawned on me that Phil was on the elevator with us. I blurted out, "Hey aren't you Phil Rizzuto?!" He was so nice and answered with a smile and a yes.
During our stay at the hotel, he always took time to say hello and chat with us. My dad was a big fan of his, and they talked about Phil and his playing with the Yankees. What a gentleman, and it was a pleasure to have known him.
RIP Scooter - slimdizzy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3RIP to a great baseball personality and George Costanza's Key chain.

- mal1964, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"I heard the doctors revived a man after being dead for four-and-a-half minutes. When they asked what it was like being dead, he said it was like listening to New York Yankees announcer Phil Rizzuto during a rain delay."

RIP Phil Rizutto - magnusdopus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2One of the top 10 personalities of all time related to baseball. Others - Babe Ruth, Jon Kruk, Billy Martin, Reggie Jackson. Love ya Phil.
- Chizz44, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I invite anyone that lives in New York City to pick up a copy of the Daily News today. The editorials written by the staff are simply wonderful and had me a little misty on the train ride in this morning. If you are a Yankee fan and grew up listening to Rizzuto during broadcasts, you'll appreciate them. Holy Cow!

- esrom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0You don't have to live in New York City to react to the Daily News edition that Chizz44 referred to in the above comment. I have lived in New Jersey all my life and I had the same reaction. I lived about two miles from Rizutto's home.
