- stubear, on 06/03/2009, -0/+9The best thing that could happen to baseball today (and this would have a greater impact then cleaning up steroids) would be for Scott Boras to be hit by a big yellow bus, fall into a ravine and eaten by wolves, or possibly (and ironically) struck by a foul ball or flying bat causing a fatal, though lingering head trauma (extra points if it's done by one of his own players).

It's ridiculous, and will continue to get more and more ridiculous. Look at Stafford's huge payday! He hasn't even taken a snap, could totally suck balls, yet he's already a multimillionaire.
My solution: There should be a set salary for rookies depending on their draft position. Maybe even a set 1 or 2 year contract for rookies. Or baseball immortal Chan Ho Park, who made 42 million over three years with the Rangers from 2003-2005 while winning a total of 13 games with an earned run average of 5.82. Over the course of 43 games. So he earned nearly 1 million per game pitched and over 3 million per win. The minor league coaches and managers determine how often and how much you pitch. If some retarded manager constantly keeps you out there longer than he should in tight game situations, and causes your elbow to blow out, is that really your fault?
