- Darph.Bobo, on 10/10/2007, -5/+90Milton Bradley injured during game...of Twister.
- JoshuaLowe, on 10/10/2007, -3/+42Word is that the Parker Brothers hired Colonel Mustard to hit Milton Bradley on the knee with the lead pipe, on the baseball field.
- BlkGuyAtThePrty, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25I was at this game, the umpire could be heard by anyone sitting close to first base; he was being an ass. Bradley has every right to call timeout and air his ire, without being tossed out of the game. The ump was egging him on and it seemed to me that he was trying to get Bradley to go off.
I see fines and possible vacation time for this umpire. - goeatsmsht, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16That's what he gets for playing a game made by Hasbro..... Next time maybe he should try Candy Land.
- krabat, on 10/10/2007, -12/+26This guy should Go Directly To Jail.
- lukee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Do not pass first base, do not collect $2,000,000?
- Schmapdi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Meh, that's LifeĀ®.
- ummmmm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11That was the worst written article I have ever read. I had to read almost the entire thing just to figure out how the argument started. Everyone I'll save you time and summarize it. It says Milton Bradley struck out in an earlier inning and flipped his bat near the home plate umpire when he was turned around. The other umpires let him know what happen and in the next at bat for Milton he asked if he flipped the bat. Milton replied "No, that's ridiculous". The umpire stated that is what the others told him. When Milton singled and was on first he asked Mike Winters (first base ump.) if he told home plate umpire he threw his bat and he said "Yes". This is where it began and then the two got into it. Bradley ended up tearing his ACL and is out for the season. The End
- SirBotchness, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13The ump was a *****. But Milton's past doesn't make him a saint in the situation.
- atomicpoet, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12Someone sunk his proverbial battleship.
- wpong, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7sounds like a board game.
- plainOldFool, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I'm no fan of Milton Bradley, and I'm no Pods fan (just a ulcer-ridden Met fan). The guy has had a looong history of being a jerk, but the ump maybe in the wrong here. According to Sportsline (http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/10370540), he may have called Milton a "piece of *****" and may have instigated some of the altercation. There maybe fines/suspensions in the future for the Mike Winters.
- gearsofwar05, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6First of all UMPS should be seen and not heard. You know this guy is a hot head, you don't go out of your way to get in this guys head. I play Div. 2 baseball and there are a few UMPS that do this. Shut your mouth and your job. This is when power goes to your head. I hope they give this the guy a year off. Milton though needs to watch himself. All he had to do was get to first base smile at the guy and turn around and not pay any attention to him. That would have pissed of the ump more than anything he could have said.
- hmmmok, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7He's so Baltic Avenue
- irvman21, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Also during this exchange the umpire called him a piece of ***** and continued baiting him, which is completely unprofessional.
- fadetoone, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Damn, I was going to say it was a plot by the Parker Brothers, but someone already beat me to it down below...
- Enfenestrate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yeah. With a history like his, Bradley won't get much support, whether or not the ump was a dick
- krets, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Better than Coco Crisp.
- evilregis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iutmc9zR5x4&mode=re ...
Here's the incident... - datastorageguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Pay $50 for hospital fees.
- ronaldinho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Ump's fault. No reason to add oil to the fire. He should be the one trying to quell the argument and instead he's doing the opposite. Now the Padres will blame Bradley's injury on the ump, but that's BS too. That said, I never heard of someone tearing an ACL like that. Tough luck for him.
- MicheleFloyd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I heard a certain umpire was on the Parker Brothers' payroll.
- mrogi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Milton Bradley's knee is brittle like a plastic toy from China.
- Rikushix, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Snakes and Ladders is a pretty vicious game.
- Fracture98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Shoots and Ladders is the dumbed-down and safetyfied American version of the Snakes and Ladders game the rest of the world plays.
- bookishboy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Maybe they'll be able to fix him up after a quick Operation.... could just be "water on the knee." This could spell Trouble for his team, but this could be a real Yahtzee for their next opponent. Hopefully this won't put Bradley's career in Jeopardy, but it doesn't take a Merlin to figure out that a career in professional level sports is filled with hazards. And attacking a league official, injury or no, is like walking headlong into a Mousetrap; it's not worth the grief. These are chances that anyone takes in the Game of Life, though.
- Shadowhawk22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Woah. My eyes hurt from reading this.
- krahzee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Milton Bradley may have been targeted, sure. The Ump was out of line if what was said is true, and deserves to be disciplined.
Bradley also has a history of losing his *****.
Here's where he wrong: Once he got tossed he should have gone to the showers. If he had issues with the way he was treated he should have said his peace, left and called the commisioner's office to file a complaint. By going back in the direction of the umpire he was wrong. Had he not been hurt he could have been suspended for it.
Right now, Lastings Miledge from the Mets is serving a three game sit for the same thing. He got tossed, went to the dugout only to come back on the field and argue more. It cost him 3 games while his team is in a pennant race.
To make matters worse, the Padress already had lost Cameron to a hand injury for the rest of the season an inning or two before after Bradley accidentally stepped on it in the outfield trying to field a ball. - BrokenVisage, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3..going after umpire Duh? WTF kind of name is that for an umpire?
- irvin666, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I never even knew there was a guy named Milton Bradley, Roll in the puns!
- awtripp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Coco is his nickname. His real name is Covelli. His grandma called him "Co" for short, and then his siblings started in with CoCo. Look it up.
- BigKopp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is kind of surprising to me, even with his history. I don't remember him having any problems with the A's though, so it is odd that he would revert to his older ways.
- awtripp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1formatting, please, and be concise... damn.. wow...
- Darph.Bobo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Actually, Twister was released in 1966. Hasbro didn't take over the company until 1984. So Twister is/was a Milton Bradley game.

- shadowspawn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It's today's baseball. calm down, reporters... they are all cheaters and crooks. Definitely not the players I grew up with and admired.
That's why the baseball cards of today won't be worth the paper they are printed on, except as memorabilia of true, physical definitions of irony.
Surprised that they haven't turned to wrestlmania's tactics to drum up audiences they jerked over. - iflyskyhigh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I was there, they wouldn't make any announcement and everyone in the stands was anxious to what was going on.
- Thuktun, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1"Chutes and Ladders" FFS
- stonesthrow, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1"It's terrible. And now, because of him, my knee's hurt," said Bradley
First of all, YOU ARE WRONG MILTON BRADLEY. YOU, MILTON, and YOU ALONE are the reason why your knee is hurt. You acted like an immature adolescent and when you admit your injury is your own fault, you'll be a bigger man and quite possibly onto better things. That being said, it's time to take responsibility for your own actions and stop pawning them off on other people. You have a history, as you even acknowledge, of a behavior that is amature and lacking class. YOU created your own fortunes and misfortunes, just like me and the rest of the people on this planet. The same wind blows on us all, the wind of adversity and prosperity. The difference in each individuals destination is the set of our sails. You continue to set your sail and travel through the rough waters of your emotion and anyone with sense knows that when you make emotional decisions, they'll ALWAYS be wrong. Everyone else seems to be the blame with you but notice the common denominator in the drama is YOU. Google your name and count how many negatives stories outnumber the positives. This should speak volumes to you but I'm sure it doesn't because it would take a mature adult to see this point to be valid. It would be too painful to view your own self under that kind of microscope but it's something you need to do. Grow up and get your temper under control! You're too old to be throwing tantrums and now look at what it cost you and your teammates. The problem is that you've been allowed to display this behavior for too long without being corrected and it has crippled you, not just physically now but even moreso, mentally. You should be ashamed for your parents who have to continuously see their son at the center of controversy in a supposedly fun game. You should be proud of the fact that you get to go to a ballpark to work everyday but you instead prefer to play the victim. Your vision is skewed! The fact that you allow someone to get under your skin so much with having done so little towards you just proves that you don't belong where you are. Who cares if an umpire directed some profanity towards you? Was it worth your season, the playoffs and possibly your career? Are you telling me that if I were to call you a name, that you couldn't control your actions? Are you that much of a loose cannon that you are a threat to your own self and possibly humanity? With that big of a target on your back, you are going to continue to have a whirlwind of problems. You are a tightly wound coil that is starting to unravel and your mind is in need of a major league overhaul. That being said, IF you even contest a word of this, you haven't learned a thing and I will continue to view the path to your own destruction from headlines until you are a faded dot in history. When we pass from this earth, all we have to leave behind is our legacy. What would yours say right now if you were to not exist from this day forward? How would people talk about you? What is that dash in between your birth and death date on your tombstone going to represent, a man of greatness or a fool? I promise you it won't matter to anyone breathing except your own bloodline so what example are you leaving behind? - Fracture98, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Oops; true. Chot myself in the foot there.
- mrogi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Milton Bradley needs a knee transplant from TONKA
- 99Casimir, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4This is the same guy who broke a bat over his knee and obviously has anger issues.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ3XpY4iGCI - Rethcir, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Oh milton, definitely a member of the angry baseball player all-stars (along with david wells, carlos zambrano, and most of the tampa bay devil rays lineup)
- youMISERABLEpos, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1That's just it. He didn't just shut up and play ball. He's got issues and acting like a child is one of them.
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2Oh ya, good catch. thanks
