- ElAmo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+24By "playing back-up" you mean "backed off his pursuit of the team"?
Way to sensationalize your story to unfairly promote it. - theg3neral, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5The Chicago Cubs: 100 Years of Tears
- ScottMitchell, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3Meh. Professional sports need more Mark Cuban types (interesting and engaged owners who know the game and want to win, are willing to spend to win, and correctly view professional sports as an entertainment venue and strive to make the in-game experience as enjoyable as possible) versus owners like Clippers owner David Sterling, who is happy to pay as little as possible for his players, field a crappy team, and make his profit from the revenue sharing.
- Jeffler, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3Dear Mark,
Location aside, buy the Toronto Maple Leafs.
We need owners who give a *****.
Thanks,

DOUCHE - ScottMitchell, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Why link to the Chicago Tribune article? You can get the story straight from the horse's mouth, and with much more detail, no annoying ads, etc.:
http://blogmaverick.com/2009/01/06/the-cubs/ - ElAmo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Now that they have both Baron AND Zach Randolph, they're really not that bad...
- ConcernedCanuck, on 01/07/2009, -1/+3Mark Cuban - Making a mockery of professional sports since 2000
- mike23w, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Buried for lame title.
- FreddieD, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2I think that's the first time I saw someone pissed that they linked to the mainstream article and preferred that they link to a blog, instead of the other way around.
- ScottMitchell, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2@EIAmo: Um, yeah, they still suck, or is that 8 game losing streak they're sitting on an aberration?
And while they definitely have some pieces, they have a terrible coach and GM in Dunleavy. The organization is just putrid. They should have never left San Diego. - rubychild, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1wtf
- Ericimo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1Did you even read the article? I doubt it, but if so--check it again. Because that's the actual title of the Tribune article.
The poster didn't change a single word.
Way to be a real deuche for no reason at all. - FreddieD, on 01/07/2009, -1/+2I'm getting a little tired of all of these.. if he ends up buying them, then make it front page news, otherwise I am tired of hearing about it as much as I was tired of hearing about Brett Favre maybe or maybe not retiring over and over.
Then again 102 people apparently disagree with me (at the time of this writing) so I'm going to have to comfortable being the minority opinion... - syntaxgs, on 01/07/2009, -1/+2IMO sports is kinda boring and the Chicao Tribune Is a Bunch of yellow journalism
- birdman98, on 01/07/2009, -2/+2God I hope there's still a chance for him to get the team. We need it.
- iggy2012, on 01/07/2009, -3/+2Cuban would be a good addition to the cubs. A perpetual disappointment in anything they do.
- blausow623, on 01/07/2009, -4/+1Cuban spelled backwards is Nabuc. Harry Carey rules.
