thestar.com — Boston will pick up $4.2 million of Hinske's $7 million salary. In addition to the salary relief, the Blue Jays will receive a minor league player to be named later. Hinske was the 2002 American League Rookie of the Year.

    Giving up now would be ridiculous... we're 1.5 games back from the Yanks and have the 6th best winning percentage in baseball.

I know this is defeatist, but i'd rather we be unbeleivable next year than make the playoffs and lose in the first round this year.
