Bush Loudly Booed Pitching Nationals Home Opener watch!
thinkprogress.org — VIDEO -- President Bush delivered the first pitch tonight at the new Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. to a resounding chorus of boos. After being announced, Bush was showered by boos as he strode to the mound. Even after delivering the pitch, the jeering did not let up until Bush disappeared from the field.

- urbandistrict, on 03/31/2008, -7/+8Funny? How can you be so naive? At that time, the nation was rallying from the 9/11tragedy and the pitch was in NYC no less. Before 9/11 the nation was already beginning to lose confidence in his ability to lead, but all the sudden after the planes hit everyone got behind him in a showing of support- regardless of politic. Years later, the support seems to have worn off after quite a few failures from the leadership.
I do see the point in posting the video however, very contrasting. Dugg for that. - RepubOperative, on 03/31/2008, -10/+4Thanks for posting the link to the video.
- Memitim, on 03/31/2008, -0/+4Once upon a time, OJ Simpson was a beloved athlete and didn't have to resort to fear in order to get that support. Eliot Spitzer was a rising political superstar. Scumbags can be popular, too, at least until they show their true colors.

OBAMA LAUNDRY LIST OF LIES
1.) Selma Got Me Born - LIAR, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965.
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - LIAR, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - LIAR, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - LIAR, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya. It is the first widespread violence in decades.
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - LIAR, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn’t allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - LIAR, your name is Arabic and ‘Baraka’ (from which Barack came) means ‘blessed’ in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.
7.) I Never Practiced Islam - LIAR, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - LIAR, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).
9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - LIAR, not one teacher says you could speak the language.
10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia, I Have More Foreign Experience - LIAR, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn’t even speak the language. What did you learn, how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.
11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs - LIAR, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.
12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - LIAR, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine.
13.)An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - LIAR, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life - LIAR, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
15.) I Won’t Run On A National Ticket In ‘08 - LIAR, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.
16.) Present Votes Are Common In Illinois - LIAR, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.
17.) Oops, I Misvoted - LIAR, only when caught by church groups and democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.
18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - LIAR, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - LIAR, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - LIAR, you didn’t write it,introduce it, change it, or create it.
21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - LIAR, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - LIAR, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear Donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.
23.) I Have Released My State Records - LIAR, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.
24.) I Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - LIAR, you were part of a large group of people who remedied Altgeld Gardens. You failed to mention anyone else but yourself, in your books.
25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - LIAR, your 111 economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and even YOU voted against your own bill.

- adrianmonk, on 03/31/2008, -9/+8One thing about Bush that's actually worthy of respect is that he is quite the athlete. In 1993, he finished a marathon in under four hours, which is really quite an achievement, especially for a guy who was about 47 years old at the time. According to the article linked below, at the time, he was doing 3-mile runs at a pace of better than 7 minutes/mile. That's the kind of fitness that it takes years of training to build up to. (I've been running for about a year, and I've only ever just barely broken 8 minutes/mile, and that's only over a 1-mile distance.)
Here's the article link:
http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-243- ...- MisterFreeze, on 03/31/2008, -6/+4That actually makes him a mediocre athlete. My Mom was doing the marathon in under 4 hours when she was 47.
- slippiefist, on 03/31/2008, -4/+2He must've hitched a ride.
- toddcat, on 03/31/2008, -5/+4But he wasn't elected to be a good runner. If he were grossly obese and mildly humane and competent, that would be SUCH an improvement over his tenure as our first Fascist President.

- MattFromSeattle, on 03/31/2008, -11/+173Happy to see free speech alive and well. As much as I despise Bush, I have to admit, he's got a better arm than most of the chumps that throw the first pitch.
- dcollins, on 03/31/2008, -2/+13Yea, I think he used to play baseball in college.

- dcollins, on 03/31/2008, -2/+5Bush actually had a better gpa @ yale than john kerry (I remember that tidbit from the '04 election). It just happens that yale doesn't hand out A's and B's like most universities in America these days.
- foofightrs777, on 03/31/2008, -1/+6Somehow I remember the phrase, "You pay the fee, you get the C" being involved with Bush's days at Yale. so this really doesn't tell us much about either man. Ah, legacies.
- GawtMilk, on 03/31/2008, -0/+3Well if a catchy political slogan can't swing you on an issue, what can?!
- foofightrs777, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1It's not a political slogan. It's the reality of life as a legacy. A 6 or seven figure donation to a university results in heads being turned the other way quite conveniently. I've read several books about people's recollections and interviews with Bush's former college professors and the gist of them all is he partied his ass off and sat in the back row of the class chewing his tobacco and spitin' away. In this case the charge fits his actions.
- foofightrs777, on 03/31/2008, -1/+5If by baseball you mean something like the late 80s/early 90s Mets teams then I agree with you. But yeah, decent arm for an older guy.

- fuzzmeister, on 03/31/2008, -2/+4If you're concerned about Bush staging some kind of coup (a somewhat absurd idea to begin with), do you really think that impeachment proceedings would do anything to stop that?
- Yatata, on 04/02/2008, -0/+3maybe, because it would send a message saying that the American people are paying attention. Potential dictators spook easily when threatened. The only reason bush and co. have been able to be so bold and get away with it is because they know that the American people are too busy staring at their own navels to care about foreign policy and basic economics. That's the problem with a me-first society; there is no sense of responsibility for your neighbors’ welfare or the constitutional welfare of your country. Plus the US education system has steadily declined since the cold war to compete miserably with many third world curriculums, which doesn't make for the most inquisitive or critically thinking of populations. The only truly patriotic Americans are the ones getting off their butts and speaking up for the constitution, not the ones clutching their flag pins and waving their dicks in the air.

I disagree that everyone should learn to speak and write English with perfect grammatical ability. I believe that it is through grammatical error that new languages and dialects are born.
Grammatical error adds personality and color to someone's speech, and can convey ideas in new ways that are not always possible through "perfect" grammar.
Nor would I want to live in a society in which only perfect or native English speakers are allowed to voice their ideas or comments.
I don't agree with "Boondocksaint's" comment... but I'm glad he expressed it, despite whatever you may think of his English ability.
You should address his comment rather than his grammar.- GawtMilk, on 03/31/2008, -1/+31,000,000 VISITOR TO THIS COLLEGE! PAY HERE TO RECEIVE YOUR B.A! NO CREDIT CARD NEEDED!

- one1plus1one, on 03/31/2008, -13/+6If the cheering was louder than the boos... then that sucks...
That means that the majority of baseball goers think it's ok to cheer a man who brought America into an illegal war, and brought suffering upon millions of innocent people in Iraq, and is eroding Civil liberties, and put America into such deep debt, that the nation may effectively become bankrupt and collapse within a decade or two.
It means that the majority of people at that stadium don't really care or feel strongly about those things. (If they really cared about those things, they wouldn't be able to cheer that man.)- GJBlizzard, on 03/31/2008, -2/+9No, it means that some Americans still have a little couth and realize that if they want to show their disapproval of a president there are better and more mature ways than booing him at a baseball game.
- munawarali2, on 03/31/2008, -1/+15Typically, you shouldn't be hearing any boo's against a President. It takes a lot to get an audience to boo him live. ANY booing, is a spectacle in itself.

- GawtMilk, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1This isn't copy / pasted, I'm writing this all now. Give me five minutes.
How come we treat modern-day presidents like *****? Mid-20th century presidents were certifiably insane and got off so much easier.
George Washington -- won only 3/9 battles, ran on a campaign of "hardened military experience".
I mean, if the string of ***** presidents in the 1846 - 1862 had YouTube to deal with, they'd just be lambasted today. That area of Taylor / Filmore / Pierce / Buchanan was just abysmal. Then, Lincoln took power. Thank God, ***** Buchanan ripped America in half.
Abraham Lincoln -- first president to suspend Habeus Corpus. Worse than that -- he didn't even alert the ***** public. Southern soldiers were being captured and that was it -- no trial, no protection of civil liberties. Abraham Lincoln was president of the US during a time of war based on slavery. His position on the subject? He didn't care about slave's rights, he only wanted to unite the union so people would stop killing each other. In my opinion, it was definitely the right thing to do [dominate the south with Northern projection of power, and the south will have to use both your economy and ideology to rebuild, furthering the slave issue], but the perception these days is that he was doing for the slaves -- *****.
Same story a century later. FDR, one of Americas "favorite" presidents. Second to suspend Habeus Corpus.
It's funny. If you look at the three presidents who suspended Habeus Corpus --
Lincoln
FDR
Bush
Try to match the three sets of stats with the three presidents.
Modern-day ranking [WSJ, 2005] : 2nd, 3rd, 19th
Wartime Debt [2001 Dollars] : $1,690,000,000,000, $160,000,000,000, $510,000,000,000
American Casualties : 618,000, 416,000, 4,010
Correct Answer :
Lincoln : 2nd
Deaths : 618,000
Cost : $160,000,000,000 [One Hundred and Sixty Billion]
FDR : 3rd
Deaths : 416,000
Cost : $1,700,000,000,000 [One Point Seven Trillion]
Bush : 19th
Deaths : 4,010
Cost : $510,000,000,000 [Five Hundred and Ten Billion]
Funny how Bush gets BLASTED for an unnecessary, wasteful war while THREE of our country's highest-regarded leaders were worse off. Washington's abysmal military record, FDR's crazy spending and Lincoln's presidency seeing the second-worse loss of life [King Philips war being the first].
I don't support Bush. I think it'd be better if he were out of office. I also think that America should use 2-year terms, and that conservatism only means you fail to adapt to new scenarios. However, Bush bashing really doesn't help America go forward.
I wonder if, when I'm in my senior years 50 big ones down the line, Bush will pull his public image around like Jimmy Carter did. Below-average president, good intentions and good effort afterwards.- GawtMilk, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1Oh, and one thing. People are looking at the war saying it's an unjust / illegal war. Only for profit. Bush's cronyism, etc. Justification of war, etc.
The war corporatism mentality was present during the Civil War and World War II. The only difference is that it's now faded after people saw that the war, overall, was actually a benefit.
I think that all three wars were fought for freedom of oppressed peoples, although there probably are ulterior motives at play [Lincoln - reuniting the union, for example]. - ligyron, on 03/31/2008, -0/+0Internet

- hexydes, on 03/31/2008, -8/+10The fact that you think that is due to President Bush, and not just about every person and agency in the government, is exactly why it is able to happen.
You people get so wrapped up in blaming one person or the other, you can't see that it's coming from every single person. The sad part is, it isn't even intentional, not all the time; many of the people that are actively eroding your rights, are doing so because they feel it is in your best interest...and in a microcosm, it very well might be. However, when you step back and look at the big picture, you start to see that we are losing the sense of liberty and personal responsibility that our country was originally founded on.
This isn't Republicans. It isn't Democrats. It's everyone.- Ganja420, on 03/31/2008, -2/+5And that is why congress has an even lower approval rating than bush
- adrianmonk, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3OK, it's true that not everyone else in the government is completely innocent. But Bush is the President. He's supposed to act like a leader and set the tone. And what does he do when it comes to civil liberties? He urges the Congress to give out retroactive immunity to the telcos for warrantless wiretaps. That certainly does set the tone, just not in the way that I, at least, think is best.

- elTito, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3You people aren't the most intuitive lot. Really.

- biotch, on 03/31/2008, -4/+1Really, do you have a source that specifically shows Pelosi and Reid with a lower rating? Or are you singling them out for the low congress approval rating?... I have news for all you that are so quick to blame that rating on Pelosi and Reid. People are ***** that congress didnt remove Bush, but its been consistently shown that the dems are favored to lead congress over the repubs.
http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politic ...
It has also been shown that there are more dems over repubs in the nation than ever
http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politic ...
Given those two facts, it is reasonable to assume the dismal approval rating for congress is because of republicans continual willingness to side with Bush on vetoes and their thwarting of a vote on an Iraq withdrawal.- mmmmmbiscuits, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3As the top Democrats of a Democrat-controlled Congress, I think it's a pretty reasonable assumption that Pelosi and Reid's individual approval ratings are hovering near the polled numbers.
And personally as a former survey researcher, I try not to rely on a single pollster for data. A site like RealClearPolitics.com averages out all of the major pollster results which does a decent job of helping smooth out some bias and sampling problems. With that in mind:
Bush job approval: 31.3%
Congress job approval: 21.0%- biotch, on 03/31/2008, -1/+1Yes it is a democratic controlled congress but it has been just as influenced by republicans who uphold Bush's wishes. You can assume their poll numbers are as low because of an overall congress rating but wheres the poll to prove it? I showed you evidence the democrats are not at fault for the low ratings. As a former pollster you should be willing to take that into account.
- mmmmmbiscuits, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3As the top Democrats of a Democrat-controlled Congress, I think it's a pretty reasonable assumption that Pelosi and Reid's individual approval ratings are hovering near the polled numbers.

this'll probably be gone soon, ***** MLB. - JaybeasCorpus, on 03/31/2008, -19/+105I was there...it was beautiful. Or, should I say, boo-tiful.
The best part is, near the end of the game, they were doing a highlight reel. They showed the Bush pitch again, and we all started booing once more.- vanguardanon, on 03/31/2008, -7/+16It sounded like a mix of booing and cheering. Was is really that one sided in person?
- JaybeasCorpus, on 03/31/2008, -7/+25There was definitely a mix, but quite a few more boos than cheers.
- KingWilson, on 03/31/2008, -5/+11didn't sound like it... at all
- dienaked, on 03/31/2008, -1/+2The boos may have appeared to have more weight than cheers, but cheering is a high frequency sound which gets attenuated by things like atmosphere, grass, clothing, popcorn, hotdog buns, etc easier than a low frequency sound like booing would.
The cheering may have equaled the booing in intensity, but the cheering would have sounded less intense.
You've all heard those thumping cars from blocks away. You don't hear the treble, all you hear is the bass. Same effect.- DocCochran, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1Just like Michael Moore's speech at the Academy Awards, right?

- segrev, on 03/31/2008, -16/+10The fact you could even hear booing suggests there was a lot of booing.

- beezneez, on 03/31/2008, -1/+1For a sitting president to receive clearly audible booing is not a big deal. It's actually commonplace at public events, regardless of who the president is (Clinton was often booed in public).

- jseres, on 03/31/2008, -39/+11He isn't doing a good job, but the disrespect is uncalled for. I know some idiot is going to respond to me by saying, "he disrespects us by doing such a crappy job" or something to that effect, however if you really think about it your booing the office for which he stands for, not just him.
- dcollins, on 03/31/2008, -6/+11Indeed. If you research photos of presidents before they go into office, with photos of them as they leave office, it looks like they've aged 20 years do to the huge amount of stress the job brings.
- JedicodeWarrior, on 03/31/2008, -8/+4It's much less stressful if he wasn't ***** us over!
- 15thPD, on 03/31/2008, -6/+7I don't know about you, but I haven't been ***** over at all. My life is the same as it was 7 years ago, I just spend a little more on gas, and see more kids on the internet bitching about anything and everything.

- JaybeasCorpus, on 03/31/2008, -6/+13I dunno about everyone else, but I was most definitely booing him. And really, it's not just that he's doing a crappy job - it's the way he goes about doing a crappy job.
Oh, and he disrespects the citizens of DC for opposing any sort of voting representation for the District. So yeah, he's disrespecting me by more than just doing a crappy job. - Drogoganor, on 03/31/2008, -6/+3Such priggish authoritarian crap.
- conjuror1972, on 03/31/2008, -6/+11What?? He's ruined your economy, caused thousands of deaths of american soldiers and innocent people, is guilty as sin in the lies he tells constantly, is an embarrassment to religious people of all faiths and non alike, and is generally not the brightest duck on the pond. But in your logic you can't boo the man because you might disrespect the office he stands for?
I think he's done a good enough job at disrespecting that office, that 40000 people booing could never touch...
and because you pre-called me an idiot, let me end by saying, dumbass.- jseres, on 03/31/2008, -8/+5So your telling me that the title of "President of the United States of America" is worthless to you? There are people who die every day to defend the fact that we actually have a president instead of a dictator and the only thing you can come up with is a bunch of facts about why this ONE single president has done a ***** job? I would never boo Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, or and other president, so why start with this one? If you guys want to dissent then do it so in a civilized manner, picket, protest do whatever, but don't act like children about it.
- hexydes, on 03/31/2008, -5/+5Well-said. The way certain citizens of the United States are beginning to act is very disturbing to me. You have the right to free speech, which you are born with, and which every citizen of our country should stand to represent and protect. However, you do not have the right (or at best, should not use your free speech right) to insult other people, whether by making derogatory remarks to their face, or booing them en mass.
We're beginning to turn into a country of whiny little children who know very little about the fundamental principles our country was founded on...and that is a real tragedy. - conjuror1972, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3I'll boo who i want when i want, because, yes it is my right en masse or otherwise. Your thinking is so illogical I can't even comprehend it. As for your presidents, I would boo Reagan, Bush SR, Nixon, Clinton and Jesus if he did as incompetent a job a W is doing and has done. The title "President of the United States of America" is just that a title. As for the dictator part you are correct. You have what.. two options for presidency. Doing the math that's one more than a dictatorship.
- jroyale, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3>>So your telling me that the title of "President of the United States of America" is worthless to you?
Well, no, but face it, title of "President of the United States of America" was worth a lot more before Bush got selected to the job.
- hexydes, on 03/31/2008, -5/+5Well-said. The way certain citizens of the United States are beginning to act is very disturbing to me. - dienaked, on 03/31/2008, -2/+2News flash, other than morons who bought more house than they could afford, the economy is fine.
Take a walk around your town and notice the restaurant parking lots are full, the grocery stores parking lots are full, Lowe's and Home Depot are still $2000 refrigerators and $3000 washer/dryer sets like there is no tomorrow, etc, etc.
For a down and out economy, it seems like it's just as money spending mad as it ever was.

- foofoobee, on 03/31/2008, -2/+6Respect has to be earned. No one buys the "disrespect for the office he stands for" argument. Do you think Clinton (Bill) would have been booed the same way? Not a chance.
- alpha88, on 03/31/2008, -1/+6Why should anyone respect someone doing a bad job? I'm sorry but where I work, if someone was doing a bad job, I'd tell them, and I'd get them to fix what they were doing wrong, or have them removed. Why should the president get away with everything and still have people's respect? That's the last thing a war criminal deserves.
- jseres, on 03/31/2008, -2/+1I swear you guys just make it a point to let things go over your heads. Respect him for the office he holds, not the decisions he makes. I figure this lack of respect stems from the current problems with your parents. Learn to give some respect to your authority figures when its due, that doesn't mean agree with then 100% of the time, it just means treat them like a human being. President Bush surely didn't go to your soccer, hockey, football (or w/e the hell else hobby you might have had as a child) games and boo you when you touched the ball, so why the ***** would you do it to him?
- idreamwideyed, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1My father taught me that if i wanted to be respected in this world, i need to earn that respect. just because you land yourself the presidency, doesn't automatically mean that that the country that you run must drop to their knees and "respect" you for the sheer fact that your the president. i really, *really* hate to say this (because i hate bringing the man into any conversation for comparison), but Hilter was elected too. i'm sorry. but that man has proven, over and over again, that he doesn't even deserve the dirt between my barefooted toes.
also, it's so stupid to assume that people who don't respect a man like Bush have mommydaddy problems. i actually think my parents did a damn fine job raising me if i don't blindly follow whoever is in power. - alpha88, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2Why would I respect him for the office he holds? Anyone could hold that office if they rigged elections like he did. Should I respect ANY authority figure no matter what they say or do? That's a retarded concept, and would be considered a dictatorship. Where I live, I'm allowed to dislike the president and think he's doing a bad job. I refuse to respect someone like him. I respect my university professors, I respect my parents (no, I don't have any problems with my parents, but thanks for the wild guess), and I respect my elders, but if they do anything that I disagree with, I'll let my opinion be known. I won't blindly agree with anything they say. And I'll admit you're right, Bush didn't come to my baseball games and boo me, because he didn't know me, and I hadn't done anything wrong. I do know him however, and he has committed war crimes, so I'll boo him if I damn well please.

- blinktude, on 03/31/2008, -14/+2why not?
- foofoobee, on 03/31/2008, -1/+7Because it was essentially a form of peaceful and legal free speech/protest that reaches the highest office in the nation directly. Not exercising a rare opportunity like that is inherently un-American, especially when this particular chief executive shuts out as much feedback as he can.
- blinktude, on 03/31/2008, -14/+2why not?
- JedicodeWarrior, on 03/31/2008, -5/+16Really! Why does he garner such respect. Respect is earned and he has done nothing to earn ours.

- pinguwin, on 03/31/2008, -1/+10I might actually respect the office if he respected it. He's done nothing but crap all over the dignity of the position so don't expect anyone else to have "respect"
- foofightrs777, on 03/31/2008, -0/+7Because unlike in other systems which draw a distinction between the real and ceremonial power (such as the brittish prime minister vs the royal family) we here in America roll it all together in the presidency.
- jroyale, on 03/31/2008, -0/+4It would be a lot easier to respect Bush if Bush actually respected the office of the President. Just sayin'
- Delphium226, on 03/31/2008, -0/+3No.
- toddcat, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2So not booing is "respecting the office"? I thought Americans prided themselves on their independence and free-thinking. Surely this would be a prime example of those attributes.

Study the circumstances and histories of previous assassinations and attempts and see how incestuous the entire affair is. Mics! I also wanted to say, that a wide coverage mic covering an arena/field is going to give far more accurate results than individuals hearing what is with in 50 feet of them only. As far as spectrum manipulation, it would be audible, and sounded weird, it doesn't. They maybe had the ability to remix it to be more or less favorable, depending on how many mics were used, and who may have been in front of them, but that seems unlikely also, and possible audible.
- alpha88, on 03/31/2008, -1/+6Well it IS in washington after all. If it were in new york he'd be deaf from all the booing.
- defectDS, on 03/31/2008, -12/+4Just wondering, does anyone know why videos are always muted on youtube for me? I cleared my cookies and cache and yet every time i visit on my computer, they have no sound. Has this happened to anyone? I'm so desperate for an answer, I am even commenting it because I need to hear this video.

- quokkapox, on 03/31/2008, -15/+82My local 11 o'clock news edited out the booing sounds and added a voice-over "what an arm he has". Damn "liberal" media...

- AceKicker, on 04/05/2008, -0/+0um, actually if it was "liberal" media, they would have edited out the cheering. Liibeerrraal. They would be the Opposite of Right Wing Republican.

- arma, on 03/31/2008, -8/+1YE! You boo that !
- Condemned, on 03/31/2008, -14/+21I don't know, from the video it seemed like there were more cheers than boos.
- bowens44, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1the fact that there were enough people booing for it to be obvious is very telling.
- DarkReign16, on 03/31/2008, -13/+17Unearned automatic respect is the only reason more people didn't boo. They have this idea in their head that they are somehow a part of this nation, and they have to respect the "authority" of the office of president. As if it was some holy ***** thing. It's a guy, in a office, who controls people. Like a giant ***** corporation, except that you have no choices in the matter. Other than who the next CEO will be.
- hexydes, on 03/31/2008, -5/+3Uhm, being able to "pick the next CEO" seems pretty important to me. Before our system of governance, not only could the CEO kill you at a whim, the CEO picked his or her processor.
That's why you respect the office, because it is an office that deserves respect.- DarkReign16, on 03/31/2008, -2/+4No, that's *****. We have no rights, we have, as George Carlin so aptly put, "Temporary Privileges". Guess what, the CEO in the current system can actually tell you, at gun point, that you are not allowed to put certain plants and chemicals into your own body. They can control every aspect of your life. They can go around killing people, so long as they wear suits, and it's perfectly okay. Kill a few hundred thousands innocent civillians, eh, no problem, ***** happens! Nuke two cities full of civillians? Oh well, ***** happens. Oh well, that was years ago, who cares how many millions have died because of the government, all under the guise of safety, and necessity. It's a ***** joke. It's a monopoly on our lives, it's one big ***** corporation that gives you very little say in what they tell you to do. It's the equivalent of Wal-Mart forcing you to buy their products, or they throw you in jail, and call you a traitor.
It's ***** sick.
How about I govern MYSELF? How about YOU govern YOU, and I govern MY ***** SELF. What is so hard to understand about that?- MrWhite7, on 03/31/2008, -5/+2Well... based on your broad, overdramatic mischaracterizations and flat out untruths, I'd say your ill-equipped to govern your own ***** speech, let alone your own life. Bluntly, your gibberish-based emotional tirade makes the rest of our jobs harder.
- DarkReign16, on 03/31/2008, -1/+5Name an untruth.
- MrWhite7, on 03/31/2008, -3/+1... the soldiers cannot just kill people because they wear suits...If you want to rant about violations of the Military code of justice or the geneva convention, do so, but the flippancy with which you deride government sanctioned violence hurts your argument.
- DarkReign16, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2MrWhite, I guess you misunderstood me. When I said that the government can kill people just because they wear suits, I meant that the military has a free pass to murder whoever the government tells them to murder. Penalty free! They can even bomb an entire city of civilians, ON PURPOSE (hiroshima, nagasaki) and no charges are brought. No one even says a THING. Just because they wear a government issued suit, called a uniform. They can kill whomever they please. And by they, I mean the government.
- MrWhite7, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2Force is the only natural law in the Universe. The use of force against innocent civillians is deplorable, but par for the course for every civillization in history. The innocent civillians, in their own right, prop up the government that would harm another country's civillians. You seem to deplore the notion of government violence against innocents. I'd tell you to do something about it, but those whom you would actually harm would be innocent of the acts against which you rail. Death and destruction are sad facts of life and perpetuated by everyone. Most everything in your home is the product of some industry which came to power on the backs of the downtrodden and abused. We all propogate it, we all contribute to it. Some of us apparently, choose not to recognize it.
- hellotyler, on 03/31/2008, -2/+2That was a good rant.

- almj, on 03/31/2008, -5/+6I guess I'm one of those people. How can you boo your national leader? That's like booing the National Anthem or the American flag. Completely disgraceful, in my opinion.
- llamapalooza87, on 03/31/2008, -2/+9The American Flag and the National Anthem are primarily symbolic of the values for which America stands (stood?). Bush chooses not to respect those values. In my opinion cheering for him would be the disgraceful option, as it would be to encourage the slow demise of our most precious value, Liberty.
- mmmmmbiscuits, on 03/31/2008, -4/+1Can you and your drama queen-itude get a room or something?
- Chunken, on 03/31/2008, -1/+2In my mind cheering him is saying "I support the murder of over a million people to help make oil companies richer, and I don't mind that you lied to me to make it happen." But in my opinion those companies are rich enough. Cheering him would be completely disgraceful. I would have been booing louder than anyone there.

- vonskippy, on 03/31/2008, -14/+10Like anyone cares - it is after all baseball, the lamest "sport" on earth (ranking right down there with badminton, miniature golf, and shuffle board).
- alpha88, on 03/31/2008, -3/+4At least it's not gay like football.
C'mon, admit it, you know it's gay. A bunch of guys running around in extremely tight pants, chasing after balls and tackling each other, and slapping each others asses when they do well? Then once they're finished they take showers together? Gaaay.- pnmoore, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1Well, what about a bunch of men running around playing with balls AND wood, slapping each other on the butt and showering together? Maybe baseball should come out of the closet...
- 1timeuser, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1I'm pretty sure you can make any sport sound gay. Just do what you love and quit knocking other peoples pass times.

- 74YLOR3k, on 03/31/2008, -0/+3Yah dude, Badminton and mini-golf are quite possibly the most excellent, if facilities permit, drunk activities.( ranking just below wisest wizard of course) Honestly though, I have never seen you, but I am fairly certain that any random pro baseball player could kick your ass. ........*sighs in preparation for steroid comments*
