- FirstCuts, on 04/09/2009, -3/+344This is incredibly sad. RIP.
- kiiwii, on 04/09/2009, -2/+293Drunk drivers SUCK.
I don't understand how people can be so stupid and selfish. It's pretty much always the innocent people that get hurt the most... - inkubusfan, on 04/09/2009, -6/+233To all those who casually drink and drive on a regular basis and you know who you are:
***** YOU! ***** YOU! ***** YOU!!! - pescado555, on 04/09/2009, -1/+144Wow, disgusting. RIP. I was fortunate enough to witness his performance last night at Angels Stadium first hand and was very happy for him as he did great. He had such a future. Please don't drink and drive.
- kclifford17, on 04/09/2009, -8/+145Here is a guy who had the world by the balls... and some drunk dick hole kills him.
- fmaxwell, on 04/09/2009, -10/+113He's with the angels now...
- naner, on 04/09/2009, -0/+87Are you really trying to justify drunk driving with the "everyone does it" argument? And what's up w/ the mormon angle? I'm not religious and I know better than to drink and drive. If I see a friend trying to drive after drinking, I do everything I can to stop them. If I hear about someone have driven while drunk, I confront them. Do I drink? Hell yeah! Will I drive after? No way in hell.
I sincerely hope that your ***** up world view doesn't end up getting you or someone else killed. When you're standing next to your car in handcuffs over the body of some child you just ran over because you had a few too many, I don't think anyone will believe your "oh come on, like you've never done this?" argument. - guinpen, on 04/09/2009, -3/+88If only he had been with the Dodgers...
- KrisStrong, on 04/29/2009, -8/+72Drunk Drivers ***** Suck!
Period. - inactive, on 04/09/2009, -0/+63He was so young, with so much potential. RIP.
I hope the man who took Nick Adenhart's life, along with 2 others, spends the rest of his life in jail. - inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+53Yeah... too bad the ***** ***** in the video couldn't show an ounce of restraint with a TMZ camera pointed in her face.
"That girl's dead... there's another one in the car...." - all while smiling. Hopefully their families don't see this bitch give her account on TV.
Young stupid girls + TMZ camera = dumb irreverent smile, regardless of context. - ervinTE8, on 04/09/2009, -4/+49I bet there's a source out there with a little more dignity than TMZ to report the loss of human life. I can't help but feel like they're treating this as a "juicy" story.
- macfan93, on 04/09/2009, -1/+45"If you drink and drive, you are a dick!" - Dan Trachtenberg.
- cyoder, on 04/09/2009, -0/+42That was arguably the worst argument in favor of drunk driving I've ever heard. Fortunately, it's only the second or third time I've actually seen someone try to justify it, in an instance that didn't involve them.
Buried. - DSizzle, on 04/09/2009, -2/+44You are a bastard because your post was hilarious but you made me feel bad for digging you.
- Jericho6, on 04/09/2009, -1/+40It wasn't his first start ever, he did make three starts at the end of last season. But he was just at the start of his career, and only 22 years old.
- inkubusfan, on 04/09/2009, -0/+30cnn reported that he was in fact drunk.
- Hetman, on 04/09/2009, -1/+26It is called supply and demand. He is not overpaid even if you believe he is. First off his skill is in high demand, there are also a very small supply of people with his skill. Then you take into consideration that amount of fans he would have brought in, the amount of merchindize he would have helped sold, then he was probably under paid. Anyways he was sober and not doing anything wrong. Why would you call him a *****?
- stubear, on 04/09/2009, -1/+22Throw the book at the driver if the minivan.
- IvenomI, on 04/09/2009, -0/+21People like you are the scourge of this world.
Someone lost their life. It doesn't matter that they were an athelete. A drunk driver killed 3 people.
I can bet that I'm not the only one that whishes you and Mr. Adenhart had switched places last night.
Rot in hell.
ktxbye - kiiwii, on 04/09/2009, -2/+22Note that I'm just assuming the driver was drunk. The guy could have just run the red light while sober, but still... even if he wasn't drunk, my statement is still valid ;-)
- apec766, on 04/09/2009, -0/+19And I live in wonder and awe of your life. You are a pompous inconsiderate dick.
- Forsakenmantra, on 04/09/2009, -0/+18Hey Dickface (messystuff) I can honestly say that I have never casually drank and drove. When I drink I plan to be driven home or don't drive. That is because I do a silly thing like take responsibility for my actions and have gone out of my way to ensure people either don't drink and drive or I drive them home myself, so you can STFU. I wonder how you will change your tune when some guy who just drink and driving that one time hits you in your car or someone you know.
- mebesurfer, on 04/09/2009, -2/+20Dugg not because I like this, but because I think the seriousness of drunk driving needs to reach the front page of Digg.
- Trifold, on 04/09/2009, -0/+18Oh really, just go ***** yourself. You're not clever or funny.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -0/+17"Fullerton police Lt. Kevin Hamilton said Gallo, who also was injured and was being treated at Irvine Medical Center, will be charged with felony drunken driving, felony hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter."
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+18sad for all 3 killed
- IvenomI, on 04/09/2009, -0/+14The guy in question is my cousin, and as I just found out they've got him on drunken driving, felony hit-and-run, and 3 counts of vehicular manslaughter.
He is going away for a LONG time. - TigerStar337, on 04/09/2009, -1/+14The difference between Nick Adenhart and johnomaz is that Nick is a WINNER!
- PacoLugi, on 04/09/2009, -1/+14What is the name of the driver? Every major league pitcher should be allow to throw fast ball at this guys nuts.
- Tryptomine, on 04/09/2009, -2/+15You magnificent bastard, I salute you.

- kochjoel, on 04/09/2009, -0/+12Such a sad way to open up the season my prayers are with his friends, family, and fans. RIP
- MicahT0078, on 04/09/2009, -0/+12What the hell does being mormon have to do with anything?? (I am not one but the logic is absurd.) It's called planning ahead and responsibility. If you can't figure out how to have a DD, cab, or whatever then don't go out and drink. Stay home. Those are just the prices of drinking in public and you should deal with it. As we say in business about healthcare and other benefits, it is simply the cost of doing business. While you are at it get a decent sense of logic because yours is clearly warped and in need of replacement.
- gimmeslack12, on 04/09/2009, -0/+12This is truly terrible. I'm a big Angels fan and this is just so sad to hear about.
- SnuKs, on 04/09/2009, -0/+11He just calls anyone doing better than him a *****.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -5/+16I like when Digg gets all moral, quite funny.
Now go back to enjoying your pedobear loving. - JCEEZ, on 04/09/2009, -0/+11Incredibly sad. I was at the game and he did a great job. He was just at the very beginning of his career.....
- MMusick, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10Horrible news...
- ReeferChiefer42, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10No, you're just supposed to not comment if you're that daft.
- Networktwenty3, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10How tragic, you work so hard, your good at what you do, you show potential, sign a contract to make an assload of money, play a big league game, and then get hit and killed by an *****. Shows you how unfair life can be.
- KrisStrong, on 04/29/2009, -3/+12May all our wishes be with his friends and family during this time.
Nicholas James Adenhart (August 24, 1986 - April 9, 2009) - apec766, on 04/09/2009, -0/+9Sometimes, it doesn't take intellectualism to explain the truth.
***** drunk drivers. - Thiscouldbeben, on 04/09/2009, -1/+10he better hope he as an A's fan as a cell mate, if he gets stuck with an Angels fan, he's *****, literally and figuratively .
- CreedFeed, on 04/09/2009, -0/+9Self responsibility? Call a taxi? Don't drink if you don't have any other means to get home?
- ngmcs8203, on 04/09/2009, -1/+10Actually, he got the no-decision last night after the Angels blew their lead late in the game.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -3/+11True, but where does it say it was a drunk driver?
- cyoder, on 04/09/2009, -0/+8Not to belittle the significance of drunk driving, but I doubt it stays in the light any longer than other incidents.
Josh Hancock (Cardinals pitcher at the time) died in a drunk driving accident (where he was DWI) a couple of years ago.
Leonard Little, while he himself didn't die, was convicted of vehicular manslaughter in 1998 when he killed someone in a drunk driving accident; then several years ago, he's again picked up for drunk driving, and somehow the DUI charges were dropped and he was only ticketed for speeding.
Unfortunately, as serious as DUI is, it's only in the spotlight (as you suggested) because a pro athlete was involved; as you said, it is sad. Oh, and go Hawks. - iskin, on 04/09/2009, -0/+8Studies have shown that severity of punishments do not come into consideration when someone breaks the law after a certain point. In my opinion, this "increase sentence" mentality is part of the problem with the United States. Drunk driving already carries some of the strictest punishments in California, and nothing has changed.
Yeah, it sucks that people die because of drunk driving, but it's not like drunk drivers have the same mentality as rapists, murderers, and other violent criminals. It's not like the 22 year old driver is going to not be punished severely for killing these people in this accident. -
