A big one in loss column for Cooperstown

timesunion.com — Today's final Hall of Fame Game important beyond the diamond. When the San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs play at Doubleday this afternoon, an annual tradition that dates back to 1940 comes to an end. Major League Baseball said over the winter that it has decided to discontinue the game. Today's is the last.
