A-Rod on Disabled List for First Time Since 2000
sports.espn.go.com — This is his fifth stint on the DL and first since July 2000 with Seattle, when he had a strained right knee. His last stop on the injured list didn't seem to slow him down too much -- he finished with 41 homers and 132 RBIs in his last season with the Mariners. Thanks for the thumbnail options of 5 ballplayers other than A-Rod for this article!

Maybe the Yankees will win a few now that the "Cooler" has taken a seat.- PolishLogic, on 05/01/2008, -0/+3That comment is only valid in the playoffs.
- AustinHannah, on 05/01/2008, -1/+1This comment is only valid never. ***** small sample sizes.

- ethanpack, on 05/01/2008, -0/+3Steroids do help recovery time and allow the joints and muscle fibers to be lubed up a bit better to aid in injury prevention...

- blankhorizons, on 05/01/2008, -1/+3It's Barry Zito, and probably because he wishes he was on the DL.
- gcsmit6, on 05/01/2008, -3/+2Nice, all part of Steinbrenner's diabolical plan to restore order to the world and put the yanks on top again. Hank can diabolick my @$lls el capitan. Yankees suck.

- TuxTech007, on 05/01/2008, -0/+3I wonder how many people are going to pack a minor league stadium just to see A-rod :)
- blankhorizons, on 05/01/2008, -1/+2Probably not nearly as many as you think.
- AustinHannah, on 05/01/2008, -3/+1Why not? He's the best player in baseball.

- RyeBrye, on 05/01/2008, -0/+2Good thing I picked Hanley Ramirez as my #1 draft pick instead of A-rod for my fantasy baseball team. (funny enough, A-rod actually went #3 in our draft because of some funky pre-arranged first round trade two people had worked out)
- thedogfatherx, on 05/01/2008, -1/+1Darn. Thats just to bad.
- fucksports, on 05/01/2008, -5/+1HURRRRRRR sports on mah digg HURRRRRRR

- badash56, on 05/02/2008, -1/+0He is only on the 15 day DL its not a big deal.....
- SoxSweepAgain, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1A-Rod is hurt. Hughes and Kennedy are done as well as insurance in the 'pen (Bruney).
The field leader (Posada, not Jeter) is side-lined for, possibly, ever.
Wang and Pettitte will carry the torch for awhile, Joba and Mariano will be expended, and the Yankees will finally miss the playoffs while excusing themselves to the "Press".- hmmmok, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1You tell 'em, BandWagon.
