- Blinker1315, on 06/23/2009, -1/+13Donald Fehr (no Marvin Miller) and Bud Selig will be paired together in baseball history for two things: the crippling '94-'95 strike and looking the other way at steroid and PED abuse. I wish Selig would follow Fehr into retirement.
- AJO21, on 06/24/2009, -5/+15Dugg for Ayn Rand reference.
- ileftfark, on 06/24/2009, -0/+8That's a bit of a seventh inning stretch to make such a lame pun. But the more I bat it around, the more it seems to touch home.
- lordmike, on 06/24/2009, -0/+5Donald Fehr has always been a vile piece of scum.... a boil on the face of baseball... I'm glad we'll be finally rid of that turd who did everything in his power over the years to try and ruin baseball...
- hillbillyboy07, on 06/24/2009, -0/+2Seconded
- openingsound, on 06/24/2009, -5/+7Who is John Galt?
- calvinit21, on 06/24/2009, -0/+2Donald, nobody is questioning your skills as a lawyer and negotiator, who managed to get untold fortunes for the players you represented. But I believe your stance on PED's will hurt the sport, the players, and the union in the long term. I hope your successor shows a little more foresight than you did.
- wlmafia, on 06/24/2009, -1/+2Make the drug tests public. Positive or negative.
- JoeHague, on 06/24/2009, -1/+2Fehr's only job was to get the most he could for his players, his duty was to them and their interests and not the game of baseball. He was outstanding at what he did, but in doing so the game was tarnished. In the end you should not blame him for the strike or the PED scandals but applaud him for representing his players so dutifully even when they made bad decisions/
- drunkirish, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Just Donnie being Donnie.
- david630, on 06/24/2009, -1/+2give me a break his job was to look after the good of the players and he did an amazing job.
- wlmafia, on 06/30/2009, -0/+1Past drug test, bill jim bob. Past drug test. There are over 100 more names from 2003 that have yet to be released.
- richirwin, on 06/24/2009, -1/+2I believe there are 2 kinds of people in the world.
Type 1 witnesses a problem and says "Man, that's a problem." And moves on. Not bothering to consider that they might have had something to do with the problem.
Type 2 witnesses a problem and says "Man, that's a problem. I wonder if there is anything I could have done to have prevented that." This person is introspective and wonders if they can look at this and prevent it from re-occurring.
Donald Fehr sounds like type 2.
Give me type 2 people any day. They're the ones who are committed to making things better. - AmidTheSnow, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Buried for lame pun.
- hillbillyboy07, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Yes
- dafragsta, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Is not a man entitled to the performance enhancing drugs and the homeruns they beget?
No, says the man in Washington; you're defiling our national heritage.
No, says the man in the Vatican; your body belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow; we have a monopoly an secret armies of medically enhanced superhuman mutants.
I built my staggering statistics with the sweat of my brow, some cream, and some clear. With the roar of your crowd, Cooperstown can be your city as well... as long as you let me in.
Sorry, all free associations dealing with Ayn Rand inevitably lead to BioShock. ;) - neonoodle, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Since when did Digg become such hardcore Objectivists? I thought everyone here was a commie.
- billjimbob, on 06/24/2009, -1/+1They are public you ***** tool. This is why sports shouldn't be on Digg.
- neonoodle, on 06/24/2009, -10/+9Buried for Ayn Rand reference.
