- blumer, on 07/08/2009, -9/+88Yankees suck!
- meruru, on 07/08/2009, -1/+75How the hell can the Nationals charge $335 for a ticket? I don't care how good the seat is, it can't justify spending that kind of money to see THAT team
- kiiwii, on 07/08/2009, -0/+43That website's header image is pretty sweet.
- bamatime, on 07/08/2009, -7/+43***** the Yankees.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -0/+27The only reason anyone spends $1250 on a baseball ticket is to show off that they can spend $1250 on a baseball ticket.
- joerod, on 07/08/2009, -2/+29what a rip off the Yankees are not only expensive to get in but once your in you'll be paying. I went to a game on Monday, $10 for a bud, $30 for lunch.
and the mets second highest price and they make the most errors..i dont think mets fans are getting what they pay for
surprisingly the phillies after winning a world series, having a fairly new stadium, and having 2 all star players have one of the lowest ticket prices.
NY teams keep making it hard for their fans to want to go to games - dekuscrub, on 07/08/2009, -0/+20Every time I go to a game, I spend more on beer than I do on my actual ticket.
- jonnyboy1544, on 07/08/2009, -0/+17I was out in San Fran a few weeks ago and got amazing behind the plate Giants tickets for like 45 bucks. Not sure why anyone would care but it was pretty freakin' sweet!
- ChaosProfessor, on 07/08/2009, -0/+15the bob euchre seats at miller park are like 3 bucks
- jonnyboy1544, on 07/08/2009, -1/+15Have you been to NYC? Try getting a hotel room; it's not just the baseball teams that gouge you.
- jarjarwang, on 07/08/2009, -0/+13It is a good time to be a Tigers fan.
- jeremec, on 07/08/2009, -0/+13So by "broker" you mean you're a ticket scalper. Funny that you would comment on this as scalpers are part of the problem. They buy up tickets they never intend to use giving the illusion that games are sold out or in early demand when they really probably would have sold out at the door. Furthermore, scalpers drive up the cost of tickets by proving that certain consumers will pay much more and by requiring security funding for anti-scalping measures.
If only I could pay these average prices without scalpers diving in, snagging up handfuls of tickets and pricing me right out of a game. - mlvassallo, on 07/08/2009, -0/+11Thanks for breaking my H-Scroll New York.
- mizatt, on 07/08/2009, -0/+11Frank McCourt has done a great job so far. The range for the Dodgers is so large because they have those luxury seats flanking home plate with tables on them and he changed the right field pavilion into the all-you-can-eat seats.
I don't know how anyone can be dissatisfied with the job McCourt has done. He hasn't been the owner for 21 years. He's shown a willingness to spend big money to bring the right guys in and he's had more success so far in his short stint than Murdoch's group did or than O'Malley did in the period from 89 until they sold the team.
Dodgers tickets are very affordable for a professional sports team in LA. If you'd rather pay several times that to see the Lakers, go ahead. But the Dodgers have consistently improved over the last few years and they're always in the top 3 in attendance. I think their ticket prices are justified. - kmattso, on 07/08/2009, -0/+10$4 Rockpile at Coors field. Best deal in the country.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -7/+17Eh, so what. Supply and demand. If they can't sell tickets at $1,250 a pop, they'll lower the price. If they can, they won't. You didn't expect premium seats at the world's most famous baseball team to be cheap, did you?
I'm not a Yankee fan by any means, but quit your bitching. - jessemoya, on 07/08/2009, -0/+9The Red Sox have sold out every game for the past several seasons. I've never known someone to buy a ticket at face value in two years I've been living in this ***** town.
/hockey fan - adent1066, on 07/08/2009, -0/+8That's why getting new stadiums really sux for the fans. Too damn expensive. I used to go to Shea stadium to see the Mets often as a kid. I remember when I could get in with my friends for $1.50 in the upper deck, and slowly sneak down into the better seats in the later innings. I haven't been to a game in years, and my kids have never been to a major league game. MLB is alienating the next generation, my kids could care less about the game.
- MelvinSchlubman, on 07/08/2009, -1/+9Maybe it's fans of particular visiting teams who are willing to pay for good seats.
- wolfing, on 07/08/2009, -0/+8The $10 allows you to watch the left fielder's ass from 400 yards away, the $350 allows you to kick the umpire in the nuts when he makes a bad call
- gdphishman817, on 07/08/2009, -0/+8You sir are a dirty scalper
- bds369, on 07/08/2009, -1/+9I believe you mean Bob Uecker. Those seats are obstructed view, btw. Go Brew Crew!
- tmaiden, on 07/08/2009, -1/+9This should be calcualed as a weighted average. Just because 1 seat OR standing room sells for $10 and the hall of fame club sells for $490 doesn't mean the ticket average is $250.
- misterparry, on 07/08/2009, -0/+7And they are over-payed
- teamquentin, on 07/08/2009, -1/+7Here's the teams ranked by payroll: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/salaries?team= ...
Looks to be some correlation. - bds369, on 07/08/2009, -6/+12also, Cubs Suck!
- pathouston22, on 07/08/2009, -2/+8You really don't want to come to Houston. It sucks.
/Houstonian - soupdawg30, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6Wow Arod makes about the same as Florida's entire team.
- sharkoman, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6Dodgers' $25 all you can eat pavilion FTW.
- Contradictions, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6It's an expensive drug habit.
- SMELLtheGluv, on 07/08/2009, -1/+7The problem is that the tickets at the new Yankee Stadium cost alot more than tickets at old Yankee Stadium. Also, the Yankees are having a really rough time filling seats right now, and its mainly due to the insane ticket prices.
- KurtangleTN, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6Wow, what are "infographics" the new digg top 10 lists?
- Hetman, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6The cubs ticket pricing is misleading. This is because they literally scalp there own tickets. They allow certian vendors to scalp tickets near wrigley. So basically the majority of tickets bweing sold are going through a middle man and he is charging you above face value for the ticket. That my friend is some major BS.
- Ersh777, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5Got $6 seats at the Bobby Cox section at last week's Braves game against the Phillies. These were not nosebleed seats, but seats in the club level. Much nicer part of the stadium than the $28 upper level seats.
- danielrh9, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5This is a little misleading, a lot of parks have deals for a dollar or two seats that you can buy the day of the game.
I don't know how many other ballparks have them, but I know that I've been to a lot of Atlanta Braves games for just a buck. Yeah, the seats are pretty lousy. But if it's not a crowded game, the ushers don't mind if you move down to an unoccupied seat. - drifter, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5I just went to a game last night, found free meter parking after 6pm, 2 blocks away. It's the lazy people who pay that much to park.
- kronix, on 07/08/2009, -1/+6Buried...the cheapest seats at Yankee stadium are the $5 obstructed view bleacher seats. The great thing is since the whole stadium is so open you can stand anywhere and watch the game. Sunday afternoon I had $30 grandstand seats but spent the last 2 innings behind home plate.
Standing room at Fenway is $30, standing room doesn't exist at Yankee stadium. Besides it's absolutely retarded to judge a stadium based on it's highest/lowest prices, what really matters is what the average Joe pays. - Perk, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5The Cardinals have "Party Suites" where the tickets are between $50 and $100 but you get a free buffet and beer (not to mention air conditioning)... it basically pays for itself considering normal seats are at least $20 and the beer is 7 bucks.
- Number23, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5Minor League FTW. You can sit in the front row and dodge fouls for $10. The beer is cheaper too.
- FormerBabby, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5A $5 level 500 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto (read stratosphere level) is about $12 after fees and taxes.
- lex0429, on 07/08/2009, -2/+7Is that the same reason anyone buys anything that is better quality and more expensive?
I expect you get all your clothes from good will, rent a 300 sq ft apt and take the bus every day.
If someone has millions of dollars you think they should sit in the bleachers? - dmoney51, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5You can get A's tickets for 2 dollars actually, but only on Wednesday's which is also $1 hot dog day, I usually can't go because the games always seem to be at 12:45.
- Cerebron, on 07/08/2009, -1/+6It's in Washington, DC. A good place to wine and dine, and grab baseball tickets for 'gifts', so price doesn't really matter.
- Long189, on 07/07/2009, -4/+9Sometimes it hurts to be a Dodgers fan...
/move to Houston - Tom151, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5ill always call it the sky dome
- had3l, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5All their graphics have beautiful designs too.
- cyoder, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4I thought the Fenway prices were substantially higher than the graph indicates. I know I'd be willing to drop some good money to see a game there. Of course, I also don't live near Boston and thus wouldn't be expecting to pay those prices to see games normally, but I digress. Not terrible to see a good team at a historic ballpark.
- mlvassallo, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4Not all seats are created equal. Not a sports fan, are you?
- robEstyles, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4Wait until the New Giants Stadium opens up tickets are almost doubling in price on top of the PSL
- robEstyles, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4Don't forget this is AFTER the Yankees LOWERED prices on those most expensive tickets.
