- uptwolait, on 05/11/2009, -3/+256I got this call recently, pressed 2 to get to a live person, then informed them that my VoIP software was trapping their actual call-from number (not the spoofed one), and that I was turning the information over to my attorney since I am on the national do not call registry. I told the person that I would be willing to settle out of court rather than pressing charges if they wanted to send me a $500 check. The person said they didn't have authorization to make a settlement over the phone. I said go ahead and hang up on me, you'll be getting a subpoena shortly, even if you are just a contract agent for the scamming company. The person very nervously apologized for calling me, and said they would add me to their do not call list. We'll see...

Their number to harass (636) 536-4664 - proto, on 05/11/2009, -0/+129Screw the 'investigation', I want these bozos' physical address!
- disgruntled, on 05/11/2009, -1/+95yeah ive talked to their operators too. they say theyll take you off the list but they never do.
one thing i have noticed though -their operators do NOT like it when you cuss. I dropped an Fbomb while asking them to remove me for the 4-5 time and the guy got all offended like hed never heard the word before. thats when i started singing 'Jays rap' from the start of 'jay and silent bob strike back' (***** ***** *****..) untill he hung up on me. it didnt stop the calls but its fun to see how long they last until they hang up on you. - TheMachine1, on 05/11/2009, -3/+96Extended warranties are a scam.
- Nevarius, on 05/11/2009, -1/+76Not to mention the possibility of having 'jays rap' played in court.
- WorldLeader, on 05/11/2009, -11/+84These guys are absolute asshats. I was participating in a forensics event called student congress, where competitors act like legislatures and give short speeches for or against bills, when the classroom phone in the room we were competing in started to ring. This was the supersession (final round) to determine what three competitors would qualify to nationals. All communications in the building were shut off, and all cell phones were strictly prohibited. Basically all major distractions were reported and could be grounds for dismissing our districts results.
Guess why that phone was ringing? Somebody's vehicle warranty was about to expire. Cut a competitor off mid speech and disrupted the session. It took a lot of work for the organizers to keep the facilities in accordance with the official rules, and it was almost ruined by a spammer phone call. ***** those guys. - MysticSeer, on 05/11/2009, -0/+73These clowns were calling me almost daily at work. Sometime multiple times a day. So I changed my tactics. When they call I would press the button and talk to a representative. I tell them that I have a 1997 Expedition and I need to know more. They start explaining the whole deal to me and I just press mute and let them talk. I once went down the hall, got a cup of coffee, and returned to hear them still talking! I like to act interested and then let them waste their time while I get some comic relief. Sometimes after listening for a while I will give them the Bronx Cheer and then hang up on them or I just let them talk and talk and then they finally figure out that I am not going to respond. I did this enough times that they don't call me back any more. Pressing 2 to be taken off the list really means that they add you to more lists since they now know that your phone number is to a real person and that this person pays attention and follows directions. Pressing 2 to be taken off the list is one of the worst things you can do.
- malex, on 05/11/2009, -2/+74There's no point in asking to be removed from their list, they don't have one. The autodialers just do random digits.
Even the emergency phone in my office elevator apparently has an expiring warranty. - jewishmafio, on 05/11/2009, -1/+70These guys are a total ***** sham, its unbelievable what they've gotten away with. 60 minutes had a great thing about the dude who started the company. Apparently they are a faith based company and the guy built himself a 16 million dollar house in Missouri...? do you know how much you have to build in order to spend 16m in missouri?! Not to mention he's a convicted felon and the fact that the company likes to act as though they are your dealer/car manufacturer warning you about your warranty about to expire.
- inbashkir, on 05/11/2009, -0/+68LOL ... From another forum..
"Please note that the home phone # listed below for Darian Atkinson is NOT correct. It is mine and I have nothing to do with this company, nor do I know Mr Atkinson. I was given this # over 1 year ago when I moved into this area...apparently it used to be his #. Though I can't help you, I do understand your frustration in repeated calls."
Im sorry Debbi.
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-801-426-6627/2 - bigp3rm, on 05/11/2009, -1/+58I have asked these people to remove my number 5 times. Eat a dick worms!
- inbashkir, on 05/11/2009, -0/+55I just called Darian Atkinson, President, 1-636-561-2754 and I got some woman who answered her cell phone.
i think i woke her up
anyway, i told her that her vehicle warranty was about to expire. she told me "this isnt the vehicle expire number" something or another, then i hung up.
maybe its not the right number lol - censormagnet, on 05/11/2009, -0/+52wow i used to get these calls all the damn time
you know what i did to make them stop? when they call start mashing your phone keys like crazy, and i think the automated system assumes your number is a fax machine and stops calling, cause after doing that a couple of times i stopped getting the calls! - _skin_, on 05/11/2009, -1/+52They called me once. I begged them to reinstate the warranty on my 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. They hung up on me and never called me back. ?
- bigteebo, on 05/11/2009, -0/+47Let's give them a call.
UsFidelis: Hello?
DA: Hello there. please stay on the line while we read you your Miranda rights... - scootinger, on 05/11/2009, -0/+44Why isn't anyone DDoS'ing these low-life scumbags?
- lnlogauge, on 05/11/2009, -1/+45if all communications in the building were shut off, how did the phone ring?
- antoniuk, on 05/11/2009, -5/+47More
Darian Atkinson, President, 1-636-561-2754
Cory Atkinson, Vice-President, 1-636-327-0300 - asgardshill, on 05/11/2009, -1/+42I find my air horn works great on turkeys like these when they call, once you get past the recorded message part and hook up with an operator. (Of course, I have to coax the cats down from the ceiling fan every time I use it, but it's a small price to pay.)
- GrodyChamp, on 05/11/2009, -1/+38I've told them to remove my number at least 3 times. Ugh. Someone stop these *****.
- Canadian0207, on 05/11/2009, -1/+36I've also been getting calls from these ppl after i've repeatedly told them no.
They offered me a policy of $4500 up front plus $100 deductible for each repair.
That is ridiculously over priced. - L0NER, on 05/11/2009, -0/+35I ask to be connected to an operator, when they ask me if I would like to extend my warranty I ask them 'on which vehicle' and they never now what car I own... I ask them how could they know that my warranty is about to expire, if they dont even know what kind of car I own... they hang on me then,
- linagee, on 05/11/2009, -1/+36Speak in a really quiet voice so they can barely hear you and they turn up the volume on their side. :-D
- NJSlacker, on 05/11/2009, -1/+32"Eat dick, worms!" or "Eat dick-worms!"?
I hope it's the second. Dick-worms sound painful. - JDLamb88, on 05/11/2009, -10/+41Oh yeah, I was sneaking up on a woman to rape her and they called my cell phone! We just looked at each other and laughed, and went our separate ways.
- FireSlash, on 05/11/2009, -0/+30Snippit from a conversation I just had with them:
"Sure, what's the make of your vehicle?"
"M1"
"M1? Uhh, ok, what's the model?
"Abrams"
Then he hung up :( - proto, on 05/11/2009, -0/+30They may take you off their contact list, but they'll still sell your information into the telemarketer market -- name, phone number, and time of day you answer the phone.
- norman619, on 05/11/2009, -0/+30Document that. It will help you in your lawsuit if you decide to take them to court and make them pay.
- duggdowncatisad, on 05/11/2009, -0/+30Try pizza deliveries, gay porn subscriptions, AOL CDs, phone calls day and night because their number is posted all over the internets, packages from poopsenders.com, etc......
- scott_m, on 05/11/2009, -2/+31Ugh I hate these calls. I get these calls about five times a week (even though I'm on the do no call registry) and I get them at work too. I just hang up now if there's more than a second pause between me saying hello and the person on the other end. Real people call back...usually.
- myFriendDerrik, on 05/11/2009, -0/+29Whoever is responsible for these calls better hope the police catch them. If the internets finds out who they are first, who knows what some might do...
- kcapxis, on 05/11/2009, -2/+30What you do to end this is waste their time. It's only a lucrative business if they make sales. So when a robo-call comes in press 1 and get someone on the phone. Give them a fake name, tell them you drive a 2005 Yukon with 50,000 miles or something, and ask questions along the way. It's easy to get them interested, just play dumb and naive and they'll talk all day. At some point they'll ask for some documentation, at which point you say, "Sure, give me one minute to dig that out of the filing cabinet." Place your phone down, listen to a couple of songs, come back and apologize, ask another couple of questions, give them some fake info, and repeat until they get wise.
Then you can get creative. I usually hit them with the "you're either so ridiculously stupid that you don't even know you're pitching a scam to make a horrible person rich, or you're scum enough to knowingly do it for even less money than he gets, which makes you an even more pitiful kind of scum." Every fourth or fifth call you'll get someone who's willing to argue either their intelligence or their morality, which only wastes even more of their time and gives you a better opportunity to prove them wrong on one or more points. For good measure I like to record these calls (and happen to live in a state where it's legal to do so). Sometimes after I've been putting it to one of these jerks for a while I'll tell them I've recorded the whole thing so I can laugh at them later. When I'm feeling REALLY cruel I'll play them back a conversation I had with one of their coworkers from a previous call, laughing maniacally in the background. The point is just to have fun with them. It's amazing how long some of them will let you mentally pound them until they hang up. - ihate2regist, on 05/11/2009, -0/+28Oh yeah i have a car. It is a 1976 AMC Pacer with 305k miles. Can you cover me?
- inobla, on 05/11/2009, -0/+27From their website
"In the middle of 2008, we chose to eliminate unsolicited, outgoing marketing phone calls. Frankly, we’ve identified more effective ways of connecting with our customers. In addition, we are continuing to adjust other marketing efforts to avoid even the possibility of any confusion among prospective customers. "
As if we didn't already know they're scamming liars. I had a friendly unsolicited message from them waiting on my phone yesterday. - PacketScan, on 05/11/2009, -0/+27I press 1 to connect to rep every time.. some times it works..
I give them various models of cars, most not made in the us..
Oh, you can warranty my fiat - bentrinh, on 05/11/2009, -0/+26It doesn't work.
- tgc1, on 05/11/2009, -0/+25Something tells me they will be soon.
- inactive, on 05/11/2009, -0/+24I hate to post a link to Reddit but they did a pretty good job digging up info on the people behind this scam they even got access to their internal voice mail.
http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/8i1u7/ ... - TheRascalKing, on 05/11/2009, -1/+25I've been getting these calls since before they were cool.
- AmusedToDeath, on 05/11/2009, -3/+26Let me guess ... complain bitterly? Type with furious vitriol?
- hackiavelli, on 05/11/2009, -0/+22That's hilarious. I think next time I get one of the damned calls I'll tell them I need my Bugatti Veyron covered.
- TnTBass, on 05/11/2009, -1/+22The spammer reconnected it so they could call.
- SMichaelG2, on 05/11/2009, -0/+20These asshats actually endanger your lives... How, you might ask? I work at a fire department where our 911 line rings with these ***** calls at least once a week. I hope the people responsible die in a fire.
- t1n0m3n, on 05/11/2009, -0/+20"I don't see how this is getting around the do not call list. It's an unsolicited call to sell you something. It seems like it would quite clearly fall into that category."
It is simple. They are breaking the law.
By being on this list, you are painting a target on your phone. There will always be someone willing to break the law by exploiting the wonderful database of valid numbers created by the do not call list. Sure, they will probably get these companies to stop calling you, but there will always be others to take their place. - MyNameIsJoe, on 05/11/2009, -2/+22They live at 742 Evergreen Terrace.
- Neuski, on 05/11/2009, -1/+20My time is worth more than that.
- FireSlash, on 05/11/2009, -0/+19"uhh, a 67 beetle? Ok.. umm.. how many miles?"
"Oh, I don't know, it's rolled over two or three times now, I've lost track" - weaksnyc, on 08/14/2009, -0/+19I think if you have the time to go through all that, it's much more fun to waste their time and energy on a "fake sell." Just give them all fake information, take your time, be very excited and thankful for their call... then right at the end when they're all excited for the big sale... tell them to go ***** themselves and hang up. Or, if you're a Boiler Room fan, say "Actually, sorry, I already get the Times."
Also... using an Arnold soundboard to answer the call is pretty damn fun... - roctimo, on 05/11/2009, -0/+18After hearing what you did to that iMac, I feel sorry for your girlfriend.
