- molamann, on 07/21/2009, -2/+33Where's the Nissan Skyline GT-R34?
People went to jail for smuggling these into the states. i.e Motorex - Duffle, on 07/21/2009, -4/+26What a horribly written article.
- Spytap, on 07/21/2009, -0/+12No *****. The GT isn't even a real car yet, it's just a concept, the RS200 was avail here, and one just came up on Ebay (they're rare worldwide, not just here) the Abarth takes 8 seconds to hit 60, and the Vauxhall they admit is just a rebadged G8, so what's the point there?
I mean, if we're talking grey market, let's at least talk older GT-Rs, the Porsche 959, or some of the FQ Evos they have in Britain. - MJM573, on 07/21/2009, -0/+10That Ford Focus makes me wish I was in Europe sometimes. Come on Ford, kick GM's ass and bring that beaut stateside!!
- buckeyefrank, on 07/21/2009, -0/+10i hope Ford releases a RS version when they update the Focus next year.
- waydee, on 07/21/2009, -0/+10I thought the Vauxhall VXR8 is an HSV Clubsport and the Pontiac G8 is a Holden Commodore VE?
- freq, on 07/21/2009, -3/+13I would buy a ford if i could get a focus RS.
It'll never make it to our shores though because IT WOULD EMBARASS THE ***** OUT OF THE RUST-TANG. - skit4king, on 07/21/2009, -0/+9Watching the Ford Focus RS on Top Gear recently has made me reconsider what is generally knowing in our shores as the "granny car".
- themann, on 07/21/2009, -0/+6basically yeah the G8 is the VE Clubsport and the VXR8 is the VY Clubsport ...
I do love having 2 Holden cars on that list ... and the Ute is awesome :) - Micgee, on 07/21/2009, -0/+5I thought the Pontiac G8 was available in the US.
- KungFuEnglish, on 07/21/2009, -1/+5"In 1990, Volvo introduced the 960 turbo wagon with the slogan, “Until Ferrari makes a wagon, this is it.” When the 960 was discontinued in the late 90’s, nothing stepped up to take its place. To this day there isn’t anything in the U.S. that rivals the turbo brick, and blatant Volvo bias forces us to maintain that there isn’t anything that rivals it overseas either, but if it was possible to replace the 960, the RS6 Avant would be our number one pick."
I'm fairly sure the Subaru STI WAGON would rival this and probably be better. Not to mention the regular WRX wagons that have been out for years. - flashpointbob, on 07/21/2009, -1/+5Those aren't grey market, those are black market. They don't meet any US regulations and would have to be shipped to the US in pieces if you really wanted one. That is why they, and other awesome Japanese cars (like the S-15, or the R-32) aren't on the list.
- mbradbury, on 07/21/2009, -2/+6Cool, Two Aussie cars on the list.
- Infidelcastr0, on 07/21/2009, -0/+4I would be willing to do horrible, disgusting things to get my hands on an RS200.
- BiscuitWorld, on 07/21/2009, -2/+6No US-produced cars that are worth a damn? Buy foreign! USA! USA!
- Super6, on 07/21/2009, -1/+4That's not how the market works. Buying American when the car is superior means you're rewarding bad behavior (making cars that suck). If you insist on buying American get a Tesla.
- Rotzooi, on 07/21/2009, -1/+3It fell apart before it arrived in the US.
- TruthKid, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2It's almost like people don't realize the Dodge Magnum SRT existed. It was a beast of a wagon, perfect for bringing shame to people who laugh at a wagon.
- mightyslick, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2
I wish they had released escort cosworths back in the 90's - steveo72990, on 07/21/2009, -2/+4Why the hell is there no Alfa Romeo 159?!
- NitrateThis, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2I suggest you do some more reading, the Pontiac G8 and Vauxhall VXR8 are based off the Holden Commodore. While Holden is owned by GM the car is more Australian than American.
- Gepetto, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2Actually, I believe, the G8 is a rebadged Vauxhall
- Enlefo, on 07/21/2009, -0/+2Buried for inaccuracy. Vauxell? Holden? These are just rebadged american cars for ***** sake. NO greymarket list is complete without the R32-33-34 Skyline period. And what about the STI RA-R or Evo FQ models?
- adventureindia, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I liked GTbyCITROEN. This car has a good design and color
- cosworth99, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1No bribing needed for the RS200. You can buy them in the USA easily. if you can AFFORD one. Heck I even saw one last week here in Canada.
Where is the RS500? ;) - nitrojunky24, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1this article is article is crap I like some of the cars but seriously that's the best you can do? how about a land rover defender? a new one that looks like like its 40 years old and is better off road then 99% of "suv" in production today.
- MJM573, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1If Ford sold this, then I'd buy American!
- matt.rubin, on 07/21/2009, -2/+3they sell those at like the dealer
- AngelBunny, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Speaking of the ford what version of ford is used in the wrc currently? I've always been curious but since I'm not a car nut I haven't really taken the time to do the research.
- matt.rubin, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1Evo 9 is states side.
http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/default.html?A ... - saisumimen, on 07/21/2009, -1/+1...
- AngelBunny, on 07/21/2009, -2/+2most american cars are made in mexico ffs.
- Enlefo, on 07/21/2009, -2/+2Um, those cars are no different from any of these on the list.
- balthisar, on 07/21/2009, -0/+0You can import anything you want -- legally -- if you federalize it. While Hollywood movies aren't good cites, at least most of you will know what I mean: remember "Rainman"? Tom Cruise's problem was that he didn't completely federalize the cars he was importing.
"Federalize" is our lingo for making other countries' cars legal in the USA. - akatsuki, on 07/21/2009, -2/+1I'd rather have a 5 door BMW 1
- StankBottom, on 07/21/2009, -1/+0I was gonna take issue with this sentence, as volvo DOES OFFER A SPORT WAGON. It's called the v70r and it's totally bad-ass (and it doesn't cost over $100k US like the RS6 Avant). Terrible article.
- CousinPedoPanda, on 07/21/2009, -6/+5Where is the Mitsubishi Evo 5 or 7?
- blankjob, on 07/21/2009, -5/+2wow the cool dude that wrote that video is awesome! not.
article fail you can get at least 3 of those cars in the US now no bribes needed and in at least one case in better form. There actually might be a couple more you can get but I'm tired and not looking. fail to the author and those who digg this. - CousinPedoPanda, on 07/21/2009, -4/+1Yes
- ArthasLK, on 07/21/2009, -5/+2Really? That's the 10 BEST cars to bribe for?? Its missing Civic Type R, Evo 9, Skyline GTR...and a bunch of other exciting cars that are not sold stateside. Lame list.
- WesleyJohnson, on 09/25/2009, -6/+2Okay, maybe it's just me, but that GTbyCITROEN is fugly.
- JoshDelvin, on 07/20/2009, -10/+3Great Title
- ronfez, on 07/21/2009, -12/+1Out Of Job Yet? Keep Buying Foreign! USA! USA!
