- WordsnCollision, on 12/06/2007, -0/+11Dat's vun vicked vagon!
- scrumpy, on 12/06/2007, -2/+11A station wagon to shut up kids with Mustangs and Flowmasters. I'd love to see my mom do a 30m burnout with my kid brother in his car seat. Frankly I don't care if they crash, that kid won't shut up. Man I'm an asshat.
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -0/+7Those soccer moms will have their kids to practice in a jiffy.
- stevenewing, on 12/06/2007, -1/+8If they bring it to the States, I'll jump for joy.
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -3/+10I'm sorry but as much as I love bmw wagons (old 5 series wagons ftw), I absolutely hate this new design. Ugly as all hell. Headlamps look terrible and the inlets under them look like leaves from the Apple logo.
- pfloraday, on 12/06/2007, -0/+6I'd consider selling my house for one. I could sleep in the back of it, right?
- FidelBlack, on 12/06/2007, -2/+8For those who don't know. Any M badged BMW has never been and will probably never be boosted.
- oneshare325, on 12/06/2007, -2/+8Not the turbo M5.....buried...
These are the Spy Shots..

- Procure, on 12/06/2007, -1/+6Buried as blatantly inaccurate. This is clearly the AC Schnitzer M5 touring, a German tuning company, with the ACS front bumper and AC IV BiColor wheels.

There have been "reports" of turbocharged M5's with photoshopped pics all over the web the past few months, and there is no real sighting of anything of the sort coming up from BMW.
http://www.worldcarfans.com/9070910.004/bmw-m5-twi ...
An M5 was recently turbocharged by a California-based company...
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/sedans/currency ... - sockpuppets, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5I feel like driving through salsa puddles.
- jofffff, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4Believe it or not, the station wagon (estate to those in the UK) is a popular choice and an alternative to bloated SUVs or MPVs. There are only a handful of sports estate models these days, maybe they're more popular on mainland Europe.
- Yndis, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4its not like turbocharging a wagon is a new idea. but its pretty sweet :) you get a practical yet insane car, with insane power.
- tabledesk, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4Don't forget Subaru
- borninda818, on 12/06/2007, -4/+8This is pretty ugly...
- jcaino, on 12/06/2007, -1/+5Volvo's made turbo wagons in the past. nothing cooler than a turbo brick.
- KLowD9x, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4Hatchback ≠ Wagon
The Mazda 5 is more of a wagon than the 3. - hiro, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3PMSL, you obviously haven't driven any of the cars in question then. 4WD does not make for a better driving car!
- rizzo2008, on 12/06/2007, -1/+4I agree but still a marvelous piece of engineering nonetheless. Hopefully the next generation 5-series in 2010 will correct the styling problems.
- rizzo2008, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3Although that has been their philosophy for the past twenty years remember that BMW had huge successes in Formula 1 in the 80s with hugely powerful blown engines. Some thought there would be never be a turbocharged production BMW period until the 335i rolled around.
- LoudMusic, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3It just keeps getting better. Too bad this version won't come to the USA either. But at £67,725.00 (GBP) which is $137,413.08 (USD) I couldn't really afford the "base" M5 Touring even if they did sell it here.
- stolenpass, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3The story even admits to being inaccurate.
- rollerxpig, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2Hell ya, hopefully it gets a better redesign. The current 5 series isn't astonishing. I prefer the E39s.
- BinaryFragger, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2Hell, I'd want one.
After a day at the track, I'd have enough room to pick up some plywood at Home Depot on the way home.
It would help keeps the kids entertained and well-behaved, too.
"Ok, you little bastards... will you behave if I blow the doors off that Porsche ... again?" - BinaryFragger, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2You know when these mega-expensive German luxury cars are getting ridiculously powerful when 383 lb-ft of torque is considered "lacking." (not that I'm complaining... bring on the power!)
That's about triple the output of an econocar. - rizzo2008, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2Giving it a twin turbocharger system similar to the one found in the 335i and 535i would be amazing. Great idea with one low inertia turbo and another that kicks in with more exhaustflow brilliant with no lag! Should give it a crapload more torque too which the current V10 somewhat lacks compared to the old school big displacement 6.2 liter V8 mercedes uses in the E63 AMG.
- twoblink, on 12/06/2007, -1/+2The problem with this car is, all that power is probably only going to the rear, and if you watch Top Gear and their review of all the beefed up Mercedes, the same comment all the time, horsepower doesn't do you any good if you can't get it on the ground.
This is why I'm a big fan of Audi's and Subaru's. AWD really makes a big difference. I'd like to see this car with AWD, THEN we'd have something to smile about. Otherwise, when you floor it, you will just smoke the tires and not much else. - hiro, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1Obviously it will go on both, in fact the "wagon"(?) , estate or touring to the rest of the world, will be last to come out
- rizzo2008, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1They still haven't brought over the M5 touring so don't count on this one even if they do put it into production in Europe.
- badjoke, on 12/06/2007, -1/+2Storage space + power. Think of it as a long hatchback. :)
- rizzo2008, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1can't even compare the two but they would probably be priced very close together in the US at least (assuming the wagon would ever be sold here).
- aeiou, on 12/06/2007, -2/+3Because 500HP just isn't enough....
Ha ha this is pretty cool - rizzo2008, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1the sedan M5 starts at $82000 in the US. The wagon would probably cost around 90k here. It costs so friggin much in GB because of the ridiculous taxes added onto the car.
- rizzo2008, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1There used to be more wagons in the US but then the CAFE laws came around in the 70s and automakers could escape the fuel economy loophole by making them a bit bigger and heavier (SUV) and classifying them as a "light truck"
- commenter01, on 04/15/2009, -0/+1couldn't agree more
- ghee, on 12/06/2007, -1/+2http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw-cars/product/5er ...
- zhlimnick, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1what the hell?? this looks more like a baby of a 5-series and X5
- KLowD9x, on 12/06/2007, -1/+2Made in the past? They still make them. Have been since the early 80s.
- wedgemartin, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1Well they always lag a little bit that way.
- hammadurb, on 12/06/2007, -1/+1why would anyone want to buy an M5 stationwagon or any other stationwagon for that matter? they should put the turbo on a regular M5 and that will blow away any competitor!
- rizzo2008, on 12/06/2007, -1/+1agreed.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+0if you like BMW Babes Girls just Check
http://autosfans.com/bmw-babes-and-bmw-girls/ - porque, on 12/06/2007, -0/+0why do they use station wagons as high performance cars in Europe? I read something about the handling on them but don't really understand why its better
- trev0006, on 03/12/2008, -1/+1If the BMW M5 comes in turbo form it will be the perfect engine for the perfect car. http://www.dpccars.com/
