- Tetec, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3Finally, a fully electric, affordable and beautiful car. More info on the wiki page : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pininfarina_B0
- MikeChino, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Never thought I'd see this technology hit the mainstream so soon! We're still going to need better charging infrastructure...
- rocketman42, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Where do you get "affordable"? There is no mention of price on that page, or on the company's page. The pre-order page, http://www.bluecar.fr/en/pages-reservation/pre-res ... , seems to indicate it will be lease-only, but no mention of how much:
"Should I decide to commit to this pre-ordering contract, I pledge to sign it and send it back together with a down-payment of €330 which will be deducted from the rental cost or will be reimbursed to me in full should I not be allocated a car."
Still good to see cars like this come out, but I'll temper my enthusiasm until I know the pricing. - personalspace, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2That's a white car.
- GlassAgate, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3Well, it looks like "Big Oil" is going to do what they can
to encourage cloudy whether.
/s - Tetec, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1They talk about a price between 15000 € and 25000 € in the french press, but that's true, wait and see, nothing's official.
- GlassAgate, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1I bet they're plotting to destroy the Sun!
/s - fooljoe, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1Looks cool, but really solar panels on top of an EV are just a gimmick. There's no way such a small surface could provide enough power to drive more than a few miles a day. Just tell me some details about the battery, how much it costs, and when I can buy it.
- b9gh47q, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1Yes.
- fooljoe, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1this is still far from hitting the mainstream, and this is not soon. automakers made great, affordable EVs like the Toyota RAV4-EV 10 years ago, but then they just stopped. and no, we won't need any better charging infrastructure for a long time.
there's enough excess off-peak production to charge a million EVs overnight with no strain whatsoever on the grid. also, many EV owners opt to install PV on their homes and so add to production. lastly, the gasoline displaced will also save electricity, as an EV can drive farther on the energy used to produce 1 gallon of gasoline than the average gas car can drive on that gallon. - b9gh47q, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1Dugg for Pininfarina
- fooljoe, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1LMP battery matched with a supercapacitor sounds really cool, but also sounds like $$$$$.
- stwmsj, on 06/10/2009, -0/+0"The solar panels on the vehicle’s roof provides some power to the vehicle’s systems."
Ring any bells? *puts on running shoes* - inactive, on 06/10/2009, -0/+0No, no "/s". Those cold hearted suckers of Satan's ***** will do anything to get their greedy paws on your money.
LOL! - inactive, on 06/09/2009, -2/+1The French and Italians making one car? Haha, should be interesting.
