- alapoet, on 11/02/2008, -1/+48Oh, great. Now another way for the spoiled rich to drive like *****.
- sockpuppets, on 11/03/2008, -0/+35Moller's been promising a flying car for almost 30 years now. Every year a new article comes out about him even though he has made very little progress.
- Seph7, on 11/03/2008, -0/+33Buried for the Daily Mail
- Devilboy666, on 11/03/2008, -0/+22It's made by Moller Vaporware - better known for the Moller Skycar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moller_Skycar - bxblox, on 11/03/2008, -0/+19lmao @ moller. It's an venture capital money pit. Every couple of years it will be on the cover of popular mechanics or some other magazine and they'll promise that everyone will be flying one within the next few years. Who are the idiots that keep giving these guys money?
- noknockers, on 11/03/2008, -3/+20Idiots. It should have been a DeLorean
- Rooker156, on 11/03/2008, -0/+17Dug for most preposterous title ever.
- oblique63, on 11/02/2008, -0/+13cool, sounds like you should move to Dubai then, yes? ;)
- PeterBassett, on 11/03/2008, -0/+11Mollar Skycar!
"Not building flying cars for 40 years!" - inactive, on 11/03/2008, -1/+11Maybe a car that runs on water should be released first.
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -0/+9Moller is nothing but vapourware!
- doiveo, on 11/03/2008, -0/+9150 mile range on 16 gallons of fuel. that's on the ground.
- aenegeling, on 11/03/2008, -0/+9so tired of the amount of Daily Mail articles on digg the last year or so. =|
- nichesiteexpert, on 11/03/2008, -0/+8I second that - slickwilly2, I think you should get on the first plane to Dubai, then. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out!
- Sabretou, on 11/03/2008, -0/+8I'll drive this car to a store to buy Duke Nukem Forever.
- urorin, on 11/03/2008, -0/+8Mini 9/11s everyday.
- OverthrowTheNWO, on 11/03/2008, -0/+7Well atleast they didn't take the design from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
- Murdats, on 11/03/2008, -1/+8because if we used magnets that powerful people would be yanked into the air by their watches.
- Egoist, on 11/03/2008, -1/+8If you're driving around a Ferrari and all you can think about is the gas mileage, you have some serious problems.
- notoneofus, on 11/03/2008, -1/+8That's SUVs, but hopefully their time has passed.
- farfromsubtl, on 11/03/2008, -0/+7This is the perfect article for Digg. It is as though it were crafted by a Digg algorithm for sensationalism.
- gospe1337, on 11/03/2008, -0/+6lol dailymail
- Farmer77, on 11/03/2008, -1/+7The car with all the ***** bumper stickers on it. It must be yours.
- talkingwires, on 11/03/2008, -1/+7They're not building the hover conversion into a DeLorean? Philistines!
- solidus636, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5*****. That's like 9 to the gallon...
- KingGorilla, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5when is it the common man's turn?
- jacquesm, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5there will come a day when Moller will have to defend themselves against a suit brought by defrauded investors. They have been persistently misrepresenting their achievements, the 'breakthrough' is always just another year away. Please never ever by stock in this company and see it for what it is, the longest running vapourware scheme in history.
- ChileanGoD, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4The problem I see with these cars is that it becomes quite a lot more tragic when you run out of gas.
- JDub800, on 11/03/2008, -1/+5This is total BS. Moller has always wanted flying vehicles accessible to all. Building it around the Ferrari goes against this. Get the Skycar operational first before anything else.
The Daily Mail comes out with rubbish again - IMO, the worst paper in the UK. - xErath, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4And producing anti-gravitons would be cheaper than spinning an electric fan ?
- Akilah88, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4Dugg down for lack of flux capacitor.
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4Moller = buried
- wreckosaurus, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4In 2003, the Securities and Exchange Commission sued Moller for civil fraud (Securities And Exchange Commission v. Moller International, Inc., and Paul S. Moller, Defendants) in connection with the sale of unregistered stock, and for making unsubstantiated claims about the performance of the Skycar. Moller settled this lawsuit by agreeing to a permanent injunction and paying $50,000.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Moller - toejamz, on 11/03/2008, -1/+5Here's somebody knocking one together that isn't the "Mohler Money Pit". Yes, there's one being built. You can buy one today, and though it won't be delivered until 2010, they actually have an anticipated delivery date.
Originally a project from MIT, this one will probably actually WORK:

This is good for a laugh, at Moller that is. What a lying sack of *****.
http://www.quailoaksranch.com/faq.htm#Why_is_your_ ...
He also sells "almond butter" now. I remember the first time I stumbled across this he proclaimed it to be "life extending" super nutrient almond butter, but apparently he's toned it down a little. Still ***** though.
Edit: I did find this though "The great healer Edgar Cayce said "Eat three almonds per day and you will never get cancer."" - doiveo, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3if you don't, we all do.
- rolf, on 11/03/2008, -1/+4I hope flying cars come, but it will not be by Moller's method with fans. Just takes too much energy and the current electrical motors are not strong enough for the purpose.
I suppose if they ever find the anti-gravitron or whatever, it will be plausible. - Recoil, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3Well, we have 6 years left before the prophecy of Back To The Future 2 officially becomes bogus. Keep up the work, scientists - there's still time!
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3I've seen the prototype, it flys, but it needs a lot of work.
- LAMinator, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3Well, by the time anti-gravitons are discovered, all cars will be nuclear powered.
- Utility, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3It's my experience that most ***** drivers are in beaters... Especially old Grand Am's and Maximas. The high performance cars are usually tucked away in the right hand lane.
- sepelester, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3Stuck in power lines is no better than stuck in traffic
- DeanO1589, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3At least the moller "skycar" was a full scale mock up. It looks like his newest "prototype" is based on a diecast car and poor use of photoshop. This is progress?
- meean, on 11/03/2008, -1/+4Screw MPG, we're talkin' GPM here!
- Myrth, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3AND it's a hybrid lol.. (joking, i know it's not a hybrid in usual sense)
What i don't understand is the meaning of 'On the ground these fans push the vehicle around with a firm but not-too-powerful thrust of deflected air.' - hthth, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3We already have a flying car. It's called a helicopter.
- Ndiggnation, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2That's what we need, with as many people out there now with more money than sense that are obliterating their McLarens and Lambos on the streets. Let's put them in the air!!
- Princeamor, on 11/04/2008, -0/+2But it would only activate when the car is directly on top of the sensors...
- miatafan, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2That thing is ULGY.
- brettgian, on 11/04/2008, -0/+2The flying car prices has so high - $500,000 however the car can go higher about 5000. About the car here is also a news : http://mymotorcar.blogspot.com/2008/11/flying-car- ... according to it the car has some difficulties to launch that are political.
