- nearlyfond, on 10/01/2009, -2/+9finally! hurting the environment was the only thing keeping me from getting a Phantom.
- scarlettletter, on 09/30/2009, -1/+6I'm guessing it doesn't make it any more affordable...
- MonkeyNews, on 10/01/2009, -1/+6The only reason I like the Phantom is because it has a hidden umbrella in the door.
- AdeleMor, on 09/30/2009, -0/+3....or you run out of gas?
- krazyjoker, on 09/30/2009, -0/+3I hate it when that happens.
- rabidbob, on 10/01/2009, -1/+3Just as lame. They're ***** car companies not the Marines.
- Porbeagle, on 10/01/2009, -0/+2It's not about being "green", it's about having the latest technology. Having something that other people don't.
- notadiggtard, on 10/01/2009, -0/+2Please tell me you are not trying to say electrics are just as useful as gas.If so I'll race you from L.A. to N.Y.I'll refuel in a few minutes and you'll refuel in....well...overnight.
Pure electrics will always be toys or used by people who also have a gas car.
I'll take a plug in hybrid over such a limited machine every time. - Swivelstick, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1"the BMW or VW mission" hows that?
- dchurchill, on 10/01/2009, -2/+3This will solve the world's fossil fuel problems
- maximilen, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2Electric cars are known to have very poor range when driven hard, e.g. like when you're involved in, say, a car chase. That's what I was alluding to.
- maximilen, on 09/30/2009, -4/+5Except when the mob you owe money to starts chasing you through L.A and you make a mad dash for Mexico but run out of batteries somewhere near San Diego and get your throat slit on the shoulder of Interstate 5.
- CressCrowbits, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1My god you are right. I'll never buy an electric car now.
- tugger, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2the rolls is hardly an 'achievement' in engineering.. what with the engine bay full of zip-ties, lots of visible plastic and screw heads in the cabin, uneven doorline gaps and a paint-job put to shame by even the baby bentley (painted by skoda).
In quietness it's way behind the arnage, and barely beats the merc 's' class. Roughly equal to the lexus which is really no compliment. The whole ***** vehicle is really just an under-performing lump that says hey I'm a rich dick.
Reminds me of the I'm rich iphone app. Crap and expensive. - enantiodromia, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1"Is there juice in the car?"
"Yes, there's juice in the car... I think the people down the hall, know who you are." - UCDPike, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1The fact the author associates the engineering buzzword "noise, vibration and harshness" with a Phantom strikes me as odd.
- tugger, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1so does a skoda octavia, and the corresponding Seat, oh yeah and the lancia, and the focus max and lots of others, most long before the BMW (sorry, rolls)
- Angostura, on 10/01/2009, -3/+1Those wacky Germans.
- notadiggtard, on 10/01/2009, -3/+1picking nits
Lame - rabidbob, on 10/01/2009, -4/+1"the R-R mission"
Lame.
