- Renton, on 02/05/2009, -3/+188Alternate title: "Police use fake crash sites to slow traffic to a ***** crawl"
- infamousjr, on 02/04/2009, -1/+152FTA: We asked our resident at-risk-youth, Andrew Didorosi, if such a deterrent would influence him. His response was, "If anything, id be staring at that and probably crash."
To be honest...if I saw what looks like a dismembered body on the side of the road I would probably look too. - inactive, on 02/05/2009, -7/+66They should do the same to deter female drivers
- cheesybanana, on 02/05/2009, -1/+56Unintended consequences:
1. A lot of fake 911 calls
2. Traffic jams
3. Stolen props
4. Distracted drivers - brandonthebuck, on 02/05/2009, -1/+54They've done this at high schools for years.
- Sean23, on 02/05/2009, -0/+46Don't drink and bike.
- GoKings, on 02/05/2009, -1/+47Yes, because what we need is people staring at that instead of paying attention to the road.
- Snoosy, on 02/05/2009, -0/+42No wonder he crashed. He was trying to carry 3 40s while driving a motorcycle.
- maximilen, on 02/05/2009, -0/+30Don't drink and park. Accidents cause people.
- WiretapStudios, on 02/05/2009, -0/+285. Mannequin necrophilia
- willsani, on 02/05/2009, -0/+22***** rubber neckers.
- salter84, on 02/05/2009, -1/+20lol at random pair of shoes $20 says that all the clothes out off this fake wreck will be nabed by homeless people and then people will be like ***** i better not drive naked.....
- Ithy, on 02/05/2009, -1/+19Wait, so was the bicyclist drinking? Why are all the beer bottles beside him?
- specialK16, on 02/05/2009, -3/+19chill out girl
- MaTT2011, on 02/05/2009, -0/+16LoL, my high school drunk driving stunt was apparently run by idiots of immense magnitude;
They do the fake crash thing, everyone's looking and some people do look geniunly scared/reflective. Then they parade out a dude dressed as the GRIM REAPER and everyone either has to restrain their laughing from disrupting the former"seriousness" of the event or they start to wander off thanks to their ADD riddled minds pulling them in the direction of something far more compelling than the A-hole in the rubber costume, like a flying bird or the sky. - SnackNStack, on 02/05/2009, -0/+15It would also seem that the bottles survived the horrific crash perfectly. That's one durable brew... the kind of quality beverage I want when I'm out recklessly driving under the influence. They've essentially created an effective roadside alcohol advertisement. Good job, police.
- asgardshill, on 02/05/2009, -0/+15Yes, every drunk driving crash I've ever seen has the empty 40s standing straight up just like a 4-7-10 split.
- ChronicColonic, on 02/05/2009, -0/+15I made it a point not to look at the crashes I cause.
- U83RMENSCH, on 02/05/2009, -0/+14you guys ***** up then.. using IE I assume.. I didnt get *****.
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -0/+12Attempts by law enforcement types to do these scared straight programs always cracks me up. at best they usually are little more than a publicity stunt. At worst they actually cause additional problems by being huge distractions. I bet the local sheriff is up for election in 2010 and starting to round up votes early.
- mhopgood, on 02/05/2009, -0/+11Yeah, when I was in high school, they had a similar wreck right at the entrance. At first, it slowed everything down to a crawl and people were wondering why the hell there was an unattended accident right outside of a high school. Then everyone got accustomed to it, ignored it, pretty much exposing it for what it is: a waste of tax payer's dollars and a safety hazard. Le sigh.
- Biscuitz, on 02/05/2009, -4/+15He's gay and hates women.
- lelebelle, on 02/05/2009, -2/+13I really doubt that this type of thing will cause drunk driver types to pause and think, "Since I saw those fake people in that fake crash on the side of the road, it seems like a better idea to not drink and drive."
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -0/+11As effective as putting ***** on a billboard.
- bbhill, on 06/16/2009, -0/+10you'd have thought they could have done better on the blood. . .
- WiretapStudios, on 02/05/2009, -0/+10That's where a good backpack comes in. Or a sidecar for a keg.
- WiretapStudios, on 02/05/2009, -0/+10Those were the two empties the other dummies set down after tipping for their dead homey.
- jeffiek, on 02/05/2009, -0/+10What makes you think it would work on women?
- xsecretfiles, on 02/05/2009, -0/+9Damn you bicyclist!
- protogenxl, on 02/05/2009, -0/+9Yeah and now every one is rubber necking on that road tying traffic up.
- lnxfi, on 02/05/2009, -0/+83 beers, random shoes, undamaged bike and a totaled car...
I'm calling foul play on this one. - Beaver1279, on 02/06/2009, -1/+8God you're dumb. 911 happened in New York. Duh.
- entropysteak, on 02/05/2009, -0/+7i make it a point to not look at crashes.
- omgwhataguy, on 02/05/2009, -0/+7I can't wait to see the headline "Drunk Driver Crashes Into Fake Drunk Driving Crash Site"
- jgray1975, on 02/05/2009, -0/+7A warning to you Asian drivers.
- corr1756, on 02/05/2009, -1/+8sometimes bad grammar makes a comment sound like a tangent, and sometimes they are hilarious tangents. this is one of them.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+7i could have made it to about 178 before i got to mannequin necrophilia.
you went there at 5.
you win. i guess. - DscHmi3, on 02/05/2009, -0/+7At least he was able to keep all three of the bottles intact and two of them upright before his ultimate demise.
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -0/+6They shifted the 9 over a bit. It's 191.
- yaazz, on 02/06/2009, -1/+7Asian drivers too
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -0/+6That is one diesel bike, its not bent in any way, while that car got totaled.
- BobFromReboot, on 02/05/2009, -1/+7Could a motorcycle even cause that sort of damage to a car? I don't think so. Also, the blood is clearly just red paint.
- Vannnation, on 02/05/2009, -0/+6My uncle had a wreck that almost killed him, and the state took his vehicle and did something like this. Needless to say he sued the state and won, this is a poor way to waste tax payers money. Just my opinion.
- BCPneumatics, on 02/05/2009, -0/+5Tux protected me.
- xtc46, on 02/05/2009, -0/+5Im not shocked, im interested in what happened, and seeing some idiot wreck is not going to deter me from drinking and driving. The thought of hurting somne, getting my license revoked, sense of responsibility, respect for the law, etc..all that stuff stops me from doing it, not the pile of trash now on the side of the road.
- ChromaVita, on 02/06/2009, -0/+5But how would they fit both cars in the kitchen?
- Wazdinero, on 02/05/2009, -0/+5I like how the bottles are standing straight up, you know, like they would after being flung from a violent car crash.
Also, the shoes are a nice touch, seeing as how the cyclist is still wearing his, they must have come from the car. - AlanFang, on 02/05/2009, -0/+5Seems like having the accident on the side of the road like that could lead to further accidents. Drivers look over to see what's up when they go by, take there eyes of the road and hit someone else. There are better ways to do this.
- Snoosy, on 02/05/2009, -2/+7No, it won't.
- wonkavsn, on 02/05/2009, -0/+5Two of the beers standing upright.
