- ubernoggin, on 11/12/2009, -2/+44I would like a Bugatti for $1.6 please. Oh, wait, $1.6 _million_???
- diggit83, on 11/12/2009, -1/+43Lets observe a moment of silence for one of the greatest automotive engineering examples in history.
- Lucas123, on 11/12/2009, -0/+23I'm sure PETA would approve.
- gnews, on 11/12/2009, -0/+17Bugatti = Million
... that's how I read it - Surferess, on 11/12/2009, -0/+16Ah crap, you're right! Apologies!
- boothash, on 11/13/2009, -1/+16More like "Douchebag driver to blame for Bugatti in Lake"
- chrismwood, on 11/12/2009, -0/+13Can't....watch...hurts...too...much...
- WordsnCollision, on 11/12/2009, -0/+13Why did he swerve? We've got a deal with the pelicans, same as with the pigeons.
- zbeast, on 11/13/2009, -0/+11I was eating a cheese burger, while taking on the phone, changing the radio, while looking for a map
when suddenly a pelican just walked out in front of the car.
I love pelican's so I had to drive a 1.6 million dollar car off the the road to save that bird.
They have such lovely plumage. - cuervoman914, on 11/13/2009, -0/+10ok, how did this idiot get this rich?
- TWillz, on 11/13/2009, -0/+8Is "pelican" slang for sniffing coke off a hooker's ass?
- yacks, on 11/13/2009, -0/+8a buck sixty for a Bugatti.. must have been a nice Hot Wheels car.
- Vindicoth, on 11/13/2009, -1/+8$1.6 bucks? Shiiiiiit.. Thats cheaper than Taco Bell!
- FChicken, on 11/13/2009, -0/+6Mirror.. ish, see how long it lasts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3goPs_EANU - xXSheepyXx, on 11/13/2009, -2/+7For $1.6m you'd expect it to swim
- sh0em0nkey, on 11/13/2009, -0/+5"local news affiliate KHOU reported the 1,000+ hp engine "gurgled like an outboard motor for about 15 minutes before it died." "
You would think that if you payed $1.6m for one of the most bad ass pieces of engineering and technology that you would know something pretty basic about compression, and gases vs. liquids.
Cause then you would know that liquids don't compress. Therefore, you shouldn't run something that uses compression to power itself after it's been submerged in a friggin` lake.
You could have at least had the possibility of salvaging the motor. - aOenEz, on 11/13/2009, -0/+4Chances are that's precisely why he left it running. Let the motor hydrolock and you've got a much better chance of totalling it. Would you want back a "slight flood damage" Veyron?
- HeDiggMe, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4Maybe the driver was Tony Montana. He likes watching pelicans.
- Spanamana, on 11/13/2009, -1/+4Bugatti - $1.6 million
Handsfree kit - priceless!! - sentry21, on 11/13/2009, -0/+3Wow they let it idle in the water? And why did he swerve? The pelican might have cracked the window. Sounds like this rich ***** got what he deserved.
- Boofster, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Veyron-gate is the new Enzo-gate...let's count them down together
- CanIGetAWitness, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1The only problem with a $1.6M car is putting on the road, subject to any idiots mood or faults, including the idiot behind the wheel.
- ZeoFateX, on 11/13/2009, -1/+2We're probably gonna see it on Craigslist for 1k with slight water damage. I'd buy it.
- yaygrr, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1video of the crash:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32yyvmlGOdo - nosecohn, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1Wait... this baby's got all-wheel drive and traction control, right? And it was running for 15 minutes in the bog. Why couldn't he drive it out?
- marticus21, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Firstly, this is great because the story is good, however someone managed to catch it on live cellphone camera. and somewhat quality as well. I predict viral in about another 36 hours.
- uptwolait, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1I like how they dragged it still in gear, and how the tow truck guy rinses his hands off in muddy water before reaching in to turn the wheel.
- Glenners, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1***** PETA IN THE ASSSSSSS
- droppolo, on 11/13/2009, -1/+1This guys insurance is going to go up exponentially after he files this claim LOL
- Praystation, on 11/13/2009, -1/+1Trust Funds.
- duggtodeath, on 11/13/2009, -4/+4So? He can afford another one.
- ileftfark, on 11/13/2009, -1/+1Word on the street is that there's been some in-squawking between the the Pelican and Pigeon Unions respectively, stemming from "The Incident".

- nepidae, on 11/13/2009, -3/+1*That only rich douchebags buy.
- Wade, on 11/13/2009, -3/+1Actually, it was the phone and idiot driver at fault.
- thefox84, on 11/13/2009, -3/+1F*** people that disrespect such amazing cars.
