- Kryptus, on 04/18/2009, -4/+45Great looking modern Camaro! Too bad its a couple years to late... This car should have came out right after its debut in Transformers. People were still buying cars back then... oh wellz, at least gas prices are cheaper now.
- Trekhawk, on 04/18/2009, -6/+33"...29 m.p.g. That’s better highway mileage than you will get from a slew of less powerful V-6 models, including not just the Mustang and the Challenger but the Toyota Camry sedan and the Honda Accord coupe"
But, but GM only makes gas-swilling trucks and SUVs. - Scrooged, on 04/19/2009, -1/+28I want. It would probably make me look like a douche, but I still want it. If I buy it I'll probably start acting like a douche anyways so it'll be a good fit.
- IndigoMoss, on 04/18/2009, -3/+26I'm really liking the look of this car. Too bad I can't afford it. On a side note, the gas mileage for car such as this is pretty amazing.
- WhiskeyWrites, on 04/18/2009, -5/+21After the horrendous mistake GM made when they brought back the GTO (in name only really) I'm glad to see they are bringing back an old favorite and making sure it didn't completely suck.
- Trekhawk, on 04/18/2009, -2/+17In all fairness, this only debuted as a concept in January 2006. 3 years from concept to production is pretty average. I would have preferred the car never be discontinued in 2002 myself.
- inactive, on 04/19/2009, -1/+14It's coming in 2010 and it's gonna be around 40K
- Vodd9, on 04/19/2009, -2/+14It doesn't matter. It beats the Challenger and the Mustang in a landslide, wether we're comparing the v6 or the v8 models.
GM has done everything 100% right with this car. I could start making a list but it would be too long. - AbsurdParadox, on 04/19/2009, -5/+16Those fake brake vents are TERRIBLE. Why do manufacturers do that crap?
- GregFD3S, on 04/19/2009, -4/+14Fast, good looks, reasonably priced V6 version, good gas mileage... I think they did an overall good job. Granted I've never driven one, but the quality doesn't appear to be the lower tier stuff GM has been putting out for the last... 50 years.
But, does it perform on a track? - Protoman, on 04/19/2009, -2/+11Nytimes is *****. No I don't want to make an account to read your articles.
http://www.bclocalnews.com/greater_vancouver/north ... <-- Camaro Article. - DagYo, on 04/19/2009, -2/+11The GTO may not have been the best name for the car (Its actually a Holden Monaro from Australia branded by Vauxhall in the UK). But the GTO is everything a muscle car should be. Good handling and the cheapest 400hp you're going to find.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A5F5uUO2oU its a bad son-of-a-bitch - Leezus, on 04/19/2009, -7/+15First the new Corvette and now this. Chevy is looking good lately.
- Vodd9, on 04/19/2009, -1/+8Better than the 3.3l v6 180hp from my parents' dodge intrepid.
- chill613, on 04/19/2009, -0/+7The Vett I've heard amazing things about, they've really brought that model together recently.. that thing is no joke
- S4MF1SHER, on 04/19/2009, -0/+6I sat in one of these at the Chicago Auto Show, I'm not much of a car guy or old car purist, but the new Camaro is so sexy.
- GregFD3S, on 04/19/2009, -4/+10By the way, I'm a German Engineering/Quality/BMW whore.
I usually never give GM an acclaim, but in this case I did. - inactive, on 04/19/2009, -1/+7Too bad you didn't read the article and are talking out of your ass. I won't bother to mention the cars know for being eco-friendly that don't get the gas mileage this car gets.
- Mudcrutch, on 04/19/2009, -1/+7Check out the Nürburgring lap times. It was in the low 8 minutes. Very good time.
- craiger316, on 04/19/2009, -3/+8It looks like a Mustang and Charger did the nasty... seeing a lot of borrowing in this design.
- Axeman2063, on 04/19/2009, -2/+7Tight. Pricing/fuel economy is fairly respectable...its no prius, but its a hell of a lot better than some of the options out there. May get one myself when my '06 Monte Carlo conks out.
- URnotheonly1, on 04/19/2009, -1/+6buying one or the vett
- inactive, on 04/19/2009, -1/+6maybe you should read the damn article
- knowitman, on 04/19/2009, -1/+6"I guess the good news is that GM will be bankrupt before it gets the chance to release this hideous caricature of the classic Camaro."
Full scale production started over a month ago, and there are already some on the streets. - inactive, on 04/19/2009, -1/+5chp 11 != chp 7
- swordedge, on 04/19/2009, -0/+4Like with many high end sports cars, they are putting in a very tall 6th gear... on the auto trans. It may be slow to pass till the down shift happens. Oh, and you don't get to use that very tall gear in the city. Basically, The Corvette, for example, can do 65-70 mph at only 1000 rpm or so. However, there is no power till it downsifts. Didn't look up what the rpm for 65 on this car is.
I drive a stick and I have trouble thinking of a pony car in terms of an automatic. - rhedrick, on 04/19/2009, -0/+4So, you've driven it? Really? STFU
- Konrad9, on 04/19/2009, -2/+6If you replaced every single Prius with a V8 Camaro you would probably hurt the environment less in the long run.
- ScotchInBox, on 04/19/2009, -1/+5If I can drive it and it's decent - I'll buy one - need a daily driver and I certainly wouldn't mind driving this around. 29MPG on the highway and the V8 426HP gets 24/25 - that's pretty sweet.
- knowitman, on 04/19/2009, -1/+5I guess you never read the article or have done any research when it comes to the handling of the Camaro before making an assumption and passing it as fact.
- GuitarHeroDenn, on 04/19/2009, -3/+6Funny you should ask, I've got a car now.
Oh wow, how'd you get a car?
Oh my parents drove it up here from the Bahamas.
You're kidding!
I must be, the Bahamas are islands, okay, the important thing now, is that you ask me what kind of car I have.
Uh, what kinda car do ya' got?
I've got a BITCHIN CAMARO! - catxors, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3I don't think IRS is that big a deal on smooth pavement. I think almost everything affects cornering somewhat, so you just have to try it out. But the review said the SS was a lot better than the LT so I would take that into account. And anything that can tie with any M3 is a nice car in my book.
- Anand999, on 04/19/2009, -2/+5The '10 Camaro SS turned in a 8:20 lap time around the Nürburgring. This puts it in some pretty good company, most of which cost significantly more.
- MeNorski, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Actually the car is built for cornering. It has an IRS ( or Independent Rear Suspension for those who are not mechanically inclined). This offers much better and more precise handling. Muscle cars traditionally came with a Solid Rear Axle which is better for straight, off the line acceleration. The 2010 Mustang still comes with a solid rear axle I might add. The 8:20 time on the Nürburgring speaks for itself. As mentioned above, it was put in company with a BMW M3, and an Audi RS6.
According to the http://www.fastestlaps.com/track2.html
113. Audi RS6 (C5) 8:20 148 ´02 450 / 1840

117. Mercedes C 55 AMG 8:22 148 ´04 367 / 1680 Sport Auto - Chupacabraz, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3I own one of those "horrendous mistakes", and it's a damn fine car. It's not retro styled obviously, but it's definitely a modern muscle car. 6-speeds, 400HP, dual exhaust - it's a kick-butt car to drive. It's also 3.5 years old and I haven't had a single problem with it. I'm very pleased with the new GTO.
I love the new Camaro from the outside, but that hideous dashboard will keep me from buying one. - MeNorski, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3To all those who think the Camaro cant go around a corner:
According to http://www.fastestlaps.com/track2.html at Nurburgring:

- etx313, on 04/19/2009, -4/+7Definitely a nice car all the way around. Kudos to GM!
- Spoomeister, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Bitchin'.
- therealjedipunk, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2I wish I could digg you 10 times.
- FrankFutter, on 04/19/2009, -0/+2I don't really get it. but i'll dig you up anyways for "BITCHIN CAMARO"
- brad3378, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2And nearly twice the horsepower. (305 for the V6)
- chill613, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Apparently anyone who comments negatively on this car gets digged down, I guess we'll be seeing more of these on the roads with all these dedicated GM buyers
I'm more impressed with the ZR1, they've really taken the Vett to where it needs to be - chill613, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Well I didn't drive the SS, this was the LT model and the cornering felt numb at best, wasn't all that impressed with it. I know all the models are equipped with the IRS but I guess it just has to be a 6speed manual to enjoy it properly.. we went from trying the new Nissan GTR over to a LT Camaro @ Laguna Seca in California
I guess thats what happens when you go from 90k japanese import to a 30k american muscle car
I'll have to have a go at the SS when I'm back in Norcal
In any case, this was based on personal opinion, not facts - I appreciate the link on the Nürburgring, I'd much rather be responded to with numbers rather than emotional "STFU"s. - cornelje, on 04/19/2009, -0/+2I saw a black SS driving through my town yesterday. It looks even better in person.
- Demos27, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2The older ones hardly look cheap at all. And if your giving praise to the Europeans; Don't forget the Bangled horrors that some BMWs are, and the C-Class looks pretty chinsy (IMO). But it is a cultural thing...most Americans (and Australians) love muscle cars. Screw handling and refinement, a muscle car is raw, cheap, and fun.
- potatolicious, on 04/19/2009, -0/+2Probably cost. A concept is a no-expense-spared dream vehicle, the real thing is not.
- Konrad9, on 04/19/2009, -0/+2No, it's just that you've never paid attention the car manufacturing business so you think it has.
It was revealed about 3 years ago and is just hitting the streets now. That is the average time. - etx313, on 04/19/2009, -1/+3Yeah my v6 nissan is only 3 years old and it gets terrible mileage. Average around 23mpg and only 260 hp. wtf
- TheTommyD, on 04/19/2009, -3/+5"I'm really, honestly shocked to see people liking the design. I think it's hideous."
Me too. My first thought was it looks like a Mustang. -
