- toomuchsun, on 04/17/2009, -0/+46 It seems it's more inspired by the Death Race remake than Mad Max... especially since cars in the Mad Max universe were far more stripped-down - armor cuts down on maneuverability, and fuel economy - remember that the second film was focused on the paucity of gasoline and the one outpost that had a plentiful supply of it?
Also, this Camaro is loaded up with firearms... Although there's a "disarming" scene in Mad Max3 (played for chuckles) in which Mel pulls out a seemingly limitless number of guns from underneath his duster, firearms are rarely used because there aren't any ammo factories still in operation. - disrupter, on 04/17/2009, -0/+260-60: 87 seconds

can you spot the difference? - EricAnderton, on 04/17/2009, -0/+3@all: be warned, the pacing of the original Mad Max is painfully slow by modern action movie standards. But (IMO) the backstory, one of economic collapse and ware due to the end of cheap petroleum, casts a rather timely shadow over the whole thing.
But good stuff all the way around. I'd love me another Mad Max movie. That or a crappy remake starring Jason Statham that brings shame to the original movie (sounds fimilar... Death Race?)
