- thestrongrope, on 06/10/2008, -1/+20We've seen so many of these things get touted, but very few on the streets, at least here in the US. (I know too small, blah blah blah... Spare me.) I want to see these things in action!
- robotirl, on 06/11/2008, -2/+18most americans couldn't even fit in that thing
- d3lta, on 06/10/2008, -2/+1420-30K Euros, isn't that like $34-51k... For a vehicle with a range of 93 miles, top speed of 80mph that looks like a squashed Prius... No Thanks!
- sockpuppets, on 06/10/2008, -0/+10It doubles as a coffin too!
- MikeChino, on 06/10/2008, -2/+9This reminds me of a sunfish *shudder*
- haroonie, on 06/10/2008, -1/+7stay out of my blindspot with that thing!
- dreicher, on 06/10/2008, -3/+9Seats 2. Handles like a motorcycle. About as useful in a collision as a motorcycle. Why not just buy a motorcycle for 1/20th the price?
- Brian48216, on 06/11/2008, -0/+6I'm totally for electric cars, and I don't particularly mind the look of the prius since it's designed to reduce the drag coefficient.
But I'm gonna have to agree that 20-30k in euros is excessive. Aptera is marketing their car for under 30k USD and that thing is a hell of a lot better then this thing. - inactive, on 06/10/2008, -2/+8it looks like it from a futuristic movie, like irobot.
- Designliving, on 06/10/2008, -3/+7This is cute - smart design! I'd drive one. Looks like it would be easy to find a parking space.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4No, not finally. This is another ***** "concept" vehicle, which we'll never see. And if we do, look at the stated price: $50,000. At that price, WHO GIVES A *****?
Stop posting stories about overpriced FICTION. - positron, on 06/10/2008, -2/+6Please lookup the definition of awesome. I think you need a refresher.
- HappyScrappy, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4That doesn't look stable, the whole body is too high off the ground.
The Tango uses a similar idea, but having the batteries right on the ground is very stable. Also it's wider.

I've driven one. - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4It has an interior.
- clockdist, on 06/11/2008, -0/+3I'm finding that it costs a lot of money to be green.
- thentro, on 06/11/2008, -0/+3Not as cool as the Carver 1

- thestrongrope, on 06/11/2008, -0/+3lol. besides the smugness how did they look?
- TheRealToma, on 06/11/2008, -0/+3*You're
Heres a fun fact.
1:32 Scalextric set = $40.
32 x $40 = $1280
In theory, I could get a life sized scalextrix set for $1280.
Sure I'd be stuck on my own track and be ridding around in a plastic electric car with no safety, but at least ill be able to loop the loop. (BTW, I'm not entirely sure where I was going with that.) - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -0/+3they are pretty cool. the one i saw was parked... but still cool
- 2h3px, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2Kinda looks like someone cut the Smart car in half vertically. Hmm, I wonder what their design insperation was on this one...
- garnetrook, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2For the man with nothing to prove.
- clockdist, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2protection from the rain.
- l800LEMMINGS, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2this looks likes a luxury atv... i like it but i don't know where i would drive it
- MorphicMusic, on 06/10/2008, -4/+6Finally.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -1/+3i saw one! i was in the united states.. but it was San Francisco, and they are super smug about them there.
- MorphicMusic, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Kudos.
- antonio97b, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2Death trap*
- outlaw686, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2That would be scary as hell to take on the highway.
Am I wrong or was that in an Austin powers movie? - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2Oddly enough, it's the same people who claim to be all pro-environment who often keep these sort of things illegal. NY is supposed to be so liberal but you can't get a diesel-powered car or a motorized scooter/bicycle.
- glych002, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2I agree. Give me a four door sedan that I can fit my kids car seats in and then we'll talk.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2So do you have to lean into turns, or does it deal with that by itself? It would be neat if there was some sort of gimbal mount for the driver's seat so it always stayed level even when the vehicle tilted.
- cleverhandle, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2honestly, i think these companies would have a much bigger market if they didn't make their cars look so futuristic and other-worldly. i mean, i think these models mostly look really cool, but it's scaring away the average customer.
although, of course, these are all still incredibly expensive vehicles so they're not exactly targeting joe schmoe, but i still think the principle applies. - Mahoney07, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2"The expected cost will be between 20-30,000 Euros."
Stopped reading there. Wait that's the end of the article. Oh well. - PsyQ, on 06/11/2008, -0/+2The Think City seems much more realistic: 200 km range, 100 kph top speed, side impact protection and air bags. And it looks somewhat like a cross between a Smart, a Mini and some insect. Price isn't that bad either (roughly the same as a Smart, at least here in Switzerland).
http://think.no - MsAntiSunshine, on 06/11/2008, -1/+2I don't know how practical this car is, and I'm a little curious about how it "tilts" on four wheels,
But damn, for a vehicle, it's adorable. - secrity, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1It looks like a Japanese designed golf cart.
- ZombieFrog, on 06/11/2008, -1/+2Seriously wacked. Someone make a Mustang into a hybrid or all electric. That's the day I'll rejoice.
- apeweek, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1Some normal looking EVs:

At 65mph? - macabaret, on 06/10/2008, -3/+4A Smera: what you'll leave on the road after you get hit by a real car.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -1/+2Ugh! Why can't these cars look normal?
- SerifTheRobot, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1For that much money, you should just get a motorcycle.
- krc1, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1I think you have that backwards...
- Jareth86, on 06/11/2008, -1/+2I saw little cars like that all the time in Europe. We'll NEVER see one here though.
Americans are allergic to cars that can't kill pedestrians on impact. - Barackalypse, on 06/11/2008, -1/+2Once again a stupid physical form for an electric vehicle. The first person to stick the electric guts into a 4 door sedan that doesn't look it was designed by retards wins.
- apeweek, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1http://www.milesev.com/
What do I win? - apeweek, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1It seems to be Digg's taste in electric vehicles. There are normal looking, and reasonably priced EVs out there. See this page: http://www.squidoo.com/cheap-electric-car
