- Frankzulla, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11It's refreshing to see this initiative from Ford.
- hbyrne, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11Probably gets better mileage than the twig prototype, and certainly better than the brick version.
- ohplease, on 11/13/2009, -2/+7It's cool to see that Ford is still into cheap plastic interiors. Tradition.
- MacBookForMe, on 11/13/2009, -2/+6Bravo Ford...keep going green...
- soil, on 11/13/2009, -0/+4No wonder those horses were staring at my car, licking their lips as I drove by.
- frieddonuts, on 11/13/2009, -0/+3Wish that more of the car was using this process than just one component...I guess they have to start small scale and build up to it but hopefully we will eventually be able to phase out petroleum-based plastics completely. They're environmentally unsound and production is dependent on the availability of fossil fuels.
- cr12345, on 11/13/2009, -0/+3I am getting more impressed by Ford as time goes on. My next purchase may just be a Ford or Lincoln. And not because of this article, but because of the build quality i've seen in their newer products, the future cars that are waiting to come to market, and their ability not to ask the government for a bailout.
Keep up the great work, Ford. - iamdan1, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2George Washington Carver worked with Henry Ford to create plastics made from soy. Too bad its only taken 100 years for us to actually use plastics made from plants.
- taibo, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2Ford huffed, and it huffed, and it got its gas mileage up.
- rushover, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2Here I was expecting to see a car made out of straw.
- Krekko, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1How long will it last though.....
- gkiltz, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1This is already established physics. Little is to be learned here
Make it dense enough to survive the real world, and it becomes too heavy for any decent fuel economy. - Junior612, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1Rhino power!
