- Solkre, on 10/11/2008, -3/+294Holy crap! Did you see that cop just ram that poor guy and lift his car up!
- JustinHopewell, on 10/11/2008, -6/+155I saw it coming right before it happened. It was either a psychic moment or the glow of the reverse lights. Either way, it was totally awesome.
- andyhite, on 10/11/2008, -8/+129Did he honestly think that would be the most reasonable way of protesting his ticket?
- mraymond80, on 10/11/2008, -0/+100I thought this scene looked familiar except in video form... this happened in Buffalo Grove. Pictures below.

- juryben, on 10/11/2008, -2/+79Worked last time.
- steve196982, on 10/11/2008, -6/+78"Don't run over my car bro"
- Bromskloss, on 10/11/2008, -2/+65It's refreshing to see how it is not always the guy in the uniform who is the jerk (or worse). This officer didn't seem to lose his temper even after being rammed - a reminder that there are good policemen out there.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -7/+68The clip ended right before the guy got tazed.
- elpresidente408, on 10/11/2008, -0/+36The driver was 72 years old
- iChainsaw, on 10/11/2008, -0/+35I don't want to jump on any "I saw it coming too! lol!" band wagon...but that is exactly what I thought was going to happen from the start. I didn't expect him to drive up onto the car though :D.
- davidklaw, on 10/11/2008, -1/+33For a moment I thought maybe he had made the mistake of putting his car in reverse and was intending to pull out in to traffic... but then he kept his foot on the pedal and was apparently trying to continue over the cop car like a monster truck.
- Aroundtheworls, on 10/11/2008, -0/+32RAMMING SPEED!
- velux, on 10/11/2008, -0/+31Race mode
- aoou4444, on 10/11/2008, -2/+32Sometimes the reasonable thing isn't what makes you feel better at the time.
- bananasluggy, on 10/11/2008, -2/+31I think this driver should take a walk down Sesame Street... Grover has a good lesson on the differences between forwards and backwards.
I actually saw a driver once cut off a cop, do a turn from the far right lane, into the far left, and in the middle of the intersection do a left-hand turn and... ram into another police car.
Rule #1 of driving: If you're going to hit something, it'd better not be a cop car.
... it's all over if you run over the cop, too.
They tend to frown on such things. - fartingbob, on 10/11/2008, -0/+29The fact that you give a ***** who submitted it shows you really are retarded.
- LeviTheSmith, on 10/11/2008, -1/+27Police telekinesis, ***** disgusting.
He should be fired. - acknotSW, on 10/11/2008, -0/+25Only that the cop handled it correctly when the guy was getting pissed. He did it without a tude and explained to the guy that this was not the right place or time to dispute the ticket. The world needs a lot more cops like that and a lot less of the other kind.
- MyKill0310, on 10/11/2008, -0/+25I saw this clip on the news last night. They said that the driver was 72 years old and the even the police officer involved said that the driver accidentally put it in reverse instead of drive.
I think that once you turn 65 you need to have an annual driving test to make sure that you are still capable of doing so. - brandita, on 10/11/2008, -0/+23What does that R mean again?
- pintomp3, on 10/11/2008, -5/+25same age as mccain. he would run the country in the same direction.
- stilesja, on 10/11/2008, -10/+30Obviously not intentional the guy was probably just worked up and flustered so probably no jail time for him but plenty of laughs for us!
- jstearns, on 10/11/2008, -0/+19Haha! It's a squirrel punching a guy!
- rolf, on 10/11/2008, -2/+21I assume he was trying to get into traffic and just punched the gas. Didn't realize the wrong gear and there you have it. He might have been having problems at the end doing anything, since being inclined so much.
- haentz, on 10/11/2008, -9/+26Looks more like an accident to me...
- kstamour, on 10/11/2008, -1/+17When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong.............
- iticu, on 10/11/2008, -0/+15Old people should be allowed to speed with consequence?
What? - camilos007, on 10/11/2008, -0/+15Here is the full story. Shamelessly took this from a previous digg article.
http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=196544 - Rhymenoceros, on 10/11/2008, -0/+15good call
- zombiecarlin, on 10/11/2008, -0/+14There are a lot more cops like that sadly we usually only see the other kind because a cop defusing a situation with common sense a a good attitude just isn't front page news.
- ChileanGoD, on 10/11/2008, -2/+15The thing is that if this video was submitted by some digger with no friends it would have had a thought time reaching the front page.
- michaelrsa, on 10/11/2008, -4/+17Man, not only is that dumbass turning a 100-200 dollar fine (a completely reasonable amount by the way) into prison time, he also damaged his own car, has a record and now his insurance is going to go up. Anyone else got anything else to add?
And I emphasize: What a dumbass - Meocross, on 10/11/2008, -2/+14Best comment of the day.
- acknotSW, on 10/11/2008, -4/+16I'm sure prison sex helps temper the feeling of righteousness.
- tbredofsin, on 10/11/2008, -1/+13I can just imagine the guy closing the door, thinking about it, and then saying "to ***** with it" and slamming into reverse.
"I didn't mean to, officer!" - threemagic, on 10/11/2008, -2/+14it did? So when he hit the cop car AND kept going AND never laid off the gas...that was all accidental?? Really?
- TheFinalDraw, on 10/11/2008, -0/+12I'd say the fact that he kept jamming the accelerator will be pretty damning evidence. The police officer had to ask about 5 times for him to turn the car off, and that's not going to look good in court.
I dunno, I suppose it could just be that the driver was in shock, but I don't like his chances. Plus driving under the influence of rage is a crime in many places. - LeviTheSmith, on 10/11/2008, -0/+11I seen the front page, read the title and clicked it, I liked it, I dugg it.
If it weren't for you I wouldn't have known MBM submitted it - colasrtney, on 10/11/2008, -1/+12He'd just put his body into reverse and slam into their crotch at an alarming speed. He's the reverse bitch.
- onederboy, on 10/11/2008, -0/+11It sucks that they made us sit through that stupid cop video to see it!
- rootsm3, on 10/11/2008, -0/+10"I'll show him" is probably what he was thinking.
- JustinHopewell, on 10/11/2008, -1/+11I take it you're displeased with the situation?
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9I thought I was the only one who saw that.
- defsyfe, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9Ahh. I see I am not the only person who quickly identified this as the same story as soon as I saw it. It's near where I work so I remembered it right away. Even remembered it was a grey 07 camry because I bought an 08 just a few days prior to this... Lol. :)
- miraclemaxim, on 10/11/2008, -1/+10I'm surprised the car actually ran over the cop car rather than just crash into it
- ripple123, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9yeah. i thought that too, i have to admit.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -1/+10He kept revving his engine- even after he crashed into him... now that's a hardcore motherf*#"*!
- PissPaws, on 10/11/2008, -4/+12McCain, you crazy old coot!
- hibachipenguins, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8Rick Roll
