Free My Freeway
pwnthenet.com — The speed limits on the interstate are not for your safety. They exist to make everyone a potential criminal, and to pad the pockets of insurance companies and governments. The real dangers on the road are bad drivers! The interstate speed limit needs to be abolished and officers should target poor driving behavior.

- zaibatsu, on 04/01/2008, -1/+2I guess you haven't seen me driving on I-25 past the Tech Center at around 2 in the morning... :)
- wolfboy2883, on 04/01/2008, -0/+2Damn right! I'm sick of these predatory traffic laws. The Europeans have high speed limits and almost no crashes compared to us!
- americymru, on 04/01/2008, -0/+2Duly Dugg!
- moulin1, on 04/01/2008, -0/+3Absolutely. And start by eliminating the immunity that every petty local beauracrat enjoys. The people who make the laws don't have to obey them.
- angusm, on 04/01/2008, -0/+3While we're at it, let's do away with age limits, license requirements and drink/drive laws. Those are all just pretexts that an oppressive, greedy bureaucracy can use to restrict our freedom and take money out of our pockets. "Live free or die", they say in New Hampshire, but it doesn't have to be an either/or choice: with our freeways full of tanked-up teenagers doing a hundred and ten mph in mom's Escalade, we can do both!
- DeskFlyer, on 04/01/2008, -0/+1I'll only support this once the good drivers are given exclusive rights to their own interstate system.
- scottpigeon, on 04/01/2008, -0/+1I can see it now. You get a car, or a cluster of cars going 65, and other cars going 85 on the shoulder or the oncoming lane to get past them, shouting obscenities or blowing their horn, because 65 is just so inconsiderately slow. I see that almost daily as is. People speeding and making illegal lane changes, just so they can get to the next stop sign or red light faster than you. I am able to see a benefit though, especially at night in areas with a high deer population. They're more than welcome to be in front if it means so much to them.
