- austang, on 07/10/2008, -3/+53How many nautical miles per gallon does it get?
- dpcdomino, on 07/10/2008, -4/+46That's going to short circuit the cars AA batteries
- smackert, on 07/11/2008, -0/+38I think we need a clearer definition of carpooling.
- rwert, on 07/10/2008, -6/+37Hey! You sunk my Miata-ship!
- mixsense, on 07/10/2008, -11/+41***** WOMEN!
- iSinned, on 07/11/2008, -0/+19Well I, for one, would be ecstatic if I found a Mazda Miata in my pool after coming home from work.
- phillyshabazz, on 07/11/2008, -1/+19FOR SALE: 2001 red 2 dr coupe, non-smoker, CD player, NEW UPHOLSTERY!!
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -0/+16I wish
- Rikkochet, on 07/11/2008, -2/+14So thaaaaaat's why Miatas are so small. They shrunk in the pool!
- llama5492, on 07/11/2008, -3/+12It Was a Woman.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -0/+9I'd settle for finding a pool around my Miata.
- Alex2, on 07/11/2008, -0/+9You'd be surprised how easy it is to fix a soaked car.
The CD player would have to be replaced, but most other components can withstand a bit of water.
At least it wasn't floodwater. - ry4nsm1th, on 07/11/2008, -2/+10*NEW UPHOLSTERY!
- Walcherina, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6Impressively, they managed to get it into the pool with only breaking one and a half pieces of fence.
- MarkMech, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6So you're saying this was photoshopped? I don't understand your comment.
- LordoftheLoo, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6Isnt it CarFax?
- roadtripper, on 07/11/2008, -2/+7Also For Sale: Husband's SUV. Well Taken Care of . . . Just Like Our Miata
http://tinyurl.com/watervan - B08ama, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5You fool of a Took! Why don't you throw the whole car in and save us the trouble?
- wohho, on 07/09/2008, -6/+11She just wanted to make sure it didn't overheat in the sun.
- Plower, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5I can't believe I just dugg that comment....
- twiztidsinz, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4Yeah I love how they even busted out that crane for the added realism.
Look at the first picture.. car most likely came in from the upper left where the gap is, knocking the middle post off, but the plastic fence had give to it so only one section was destroyed. You'll notice the post (to the right of the missing section) is missing the top and is also angling lower. Second pic shows the damage to the drivers side front. The missing sections on the 2nd pic I'm guessing were removed for the crane.
I do think it's odd, probably a one-in-a-million chance that it didnt break both sections, but as the saying goes 'stranger things have happened'. - richw, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3for some reason this image looks fake to me. Look at where the fence is broken, it looks just wide enough for the car to fit through, almost as if the car should be on the far left end of the pool and rotate 90 degrees. So did whoever was driving it after crashing through the fence take a hard left and then just drift into the water?
- AlexanderZero, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3LOL wow I feel dumb. There are multiple pictures! Note to self: scroll down.
- kotn2012, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4!!!!!!!
- fruscianteisgod, on 07/11/2008, -3/+6the pic with the car underwater almost looks fake
- allaboutdatiki, on 07/09/2008, -4/+7Seems like inspiration for a tropical drink to me ... take one matchbox miata, drop in clear tiki mug, douse in blue curaco and rum, garnish with a lemon slice and pool float ... we'll call it "honey, I sunk the miata" ...
- thechris353, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I was in the pool! I was in the pool!
- AdamFromMyspace, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2To get all the water out of the motor it would take a lot more than "leaving it out in the sun for a while". You'd basically have to pull the motor apart to get water out of the intake plenum/head.
- panteradactyl, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I love you
- uglymike, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3I suppose the other photos were shopped too?
- dualboy24, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3Yeah the first few seconds of looking at it gives too many hints that its not real. A nice photoshop job but thats about it. After looking a second time its definitely fake, look at the lift angles.
- Khast, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3Well, they wanted the engine compartment, and undercarriage cleaned. I just wanted to do the best job he had ever seen. I even waxed the paint before giving the car a thorough wash, so the water would bead nicely.
ungrateful prick. - Tyrghast, on 07/11/2008, -4/+6Worst shop ever. My cat can do better, and all it does is nap on the keyboard.
- tempurasama, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I would buy it, that's one clean Miata.
- AdamFromMyspace, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Um, no. I've seen cars with cold air intakes hydrolock from hitting a puddle. Submerging an entire four stroke motor in water is a little worse.
- Rammy912, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3How old are you, seriously?
He should of gotten? - LeRenard, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2The car wasn't running so it shouldn't be hydrolocked if you pull the plugs and turn it over a few times. Replace the battery, fluids and filters, leave it out in the sun for awhile, and it should be fine.
- LavaWarrior, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Dude, where's my car?
- windandstorm, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2"And it also runs on water!"
- tehxhorace, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2i see what you did there
- tobikow, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I do that to when--
...is your cat drunk? - Shatfacedpanda, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Wow, I thought it would at least float.
- digjam, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3I know!!!
- tnoy, on 07/11/2008, -2/+4Then do better..
..oh wait, that right, you cant. - edcrosay, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3Did you not see the 4 other photos? I, sadly, drive a Miata, and the size of the car in the picture is pretty damn close. I say it's real.
- DiggMeTo42, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3I agree. I once got nearly killed by one.
- renegade334, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1"Soggy Miata" eew
