- boycottadhok, on 05/28/2009, -0/+6I study in the national university in bogota, when we tried to have peaceful marchs, the ESMAD (they are the ones who use these vehicles, their work is different from what the american SWAT does, i believe) atacked us with this car and gases. usually the next day, revolutionary groups inside college created a real riot and three of these machines and around 60-70 cops who look like robocop (search for esmad on google) weren't able to stop the riot from 150 of these people, they had to wait till they ran out of stones. so yeah, i think this is a waste of money, all they do is destroy public property.

That particular type was used in England to detect the use of television receivers in homes that had not paid the TV license fee. Years later, when I was there, the detector vans were much more subtle and didn't have that huge antenna on top.

Furthermore, you now have moving, flaming zombies, which will set fire to anything they touch, including the building/enclosure that you are in.
