Carbon Fiber Prices are going UP

carsportals.com — Toray Industries Inc. and the Mitsubishi Rayon Co. are raising prices on carbon fibers by 10-30%, passing on the higher fuel and raw materials costs that have accompanied costlier crude oil. Toray will hike prices by 10-20%, starting with September....

  • edstate, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1I'm glad this is being talked about... the whole drill/don't argument is very, very myopic in that it really only focuses on gasoline, and then mostly on cars. Oil gives us a ***** of great stuff. And not all of it can, or even should be "found an alternative for".

    Oil is not the automatic boogeyman it's made out to be. ...but that doesn't make for good headlines.
