- RileyCourage, on 04/10/2009, -2/+18Sadly, not recession-friendly. Recession-friendly is the new eco-friendly.
- lorddazzer, on 04/11/2009, -1/+8If it ain't broke don't fix it!
- phrocker, on 04/11/2009, -0/+5It has 385 HP. That's great gas mileage in a car with so much power. People make a trade off of power for gas mileage. The 4s, though, IS a sports car...so I agree it's weird that they made an eco-friendly version; however, I imagine they just tuned it, were able to get slightly better mileage and slapped a 'green' sticker on it. After having driving one myself. If I had the money, I would buy a 911 even if it got 4 MPG.
- dhughes, on 04/11/2009, -0/+5 It's better than going from 20mpg to 17mpg.
- newtsac, on 04/11/2009, -1/+5It's very weird to see your own work on digg! Very honored.
- NiftyG, on 04/11/2009, -3/+7Nice car, but saying it's eco-friendly is like saying low tar cigarettes are healthy.
- tr909, on 04/11/2009, -1/+5I'm glad to see it's the same. So my '04 doesn't suddenly look old.
- etx313, on 04/11/2009, -0/+3I briefly skimmed over your user name and thought it said nutsack.
- etx313, on 04/11/2009, -0/+3My car is 6 years old, makes over 400 brake hp and gets a minimum of 26 mpg highway. But my car probably doesn't look as good!
- theexitwound, on 04/11/2009, -2/+5That's not the car's fault :)
- muni, on 04/11/2009, -1/+3Yay?
- justinlarsen, on 04/11/2009, -0/+2Jesus, I just re-read my comment digg me down please.
- Princeamor, on 04/11/2009, -0/+1I didn't understand a word...
- riptor666, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1I think the cayman looks good as well but it's very overpriced, you can get a 911 for just a bit more so why not?
- writeb, on 04/11/2009, -0/+1Sigh. as if I needed another reason to want one.
- dodger2020, on 04/11/2009, -3/+4Annnnd it's another car that I will never be able to afford.
- nurbsenvi, on 04/11/2009, -2/+3I bet no body here will be able to afford one.
- riptor666, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1Not exactly even the ones from 2007 had cleaner air coming out of the exhaust than the most polluted cities. So your car is less harmful then family sedans and such that people try to act high and mighty with. You have a Porsche and if you give a ***** about the environment that's just a bonus.
- chill613, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1For the pricetag I'd go for the 09 Nissan GTR
- CheesyPoofs, on 04/11/2009, -0/+1tar is the most healthy part!
/sarcasm - alexj, on 04/13/2009, -0/+1if only top gear reviewed this...
- AuriniDMJ, on 04/11/2009, -0/+1If you can't drive stick, you have no business getting into a sports car. In fact, you might even want to consider handing in your man card.
- aps234, on 04/12/2009, -0/+1Yes, it is. Are you one of the Innovative editors? I'm the in-house editor. Great work!
- whiskeythief, on 04/12/2009, -0/+1No, No its not. There is no reason to compromise performance for global warming garbage. Give me a break.
- whiskeythief, on 04/12/2009, -0/+1You lose. Those of us who can afford it have better things to spend our money on.
- inactive, on 04/12/2009, -0/+1great, I'll have 2
- mrklean, on 04/11/2009, -0/+0Is he a chronic drunk or wearing a retainer?
- AnonymousCwrd, on 04/11/2009, -1/+1What car? I am looking to replace my corvette (a 99, currently at 530hp), but it gets around the same highway mileage as your car, and it's tough to switch to a AWD wagon (subaru, Audi, etc.) that while being more practical, has way less HP *and* less highway mileage. Full-time AWD's lesser drivetrain efficiency, and the turbos popular on AWD cars, greatly lessen the fuel efficiency :(
I drove from Boulder to Golden CO and back a week ago, got 29mpg average (at 50-60mph). My city mileage is only around 18-20mpg though, I think I need to get my car tuned again, it smells like it's running a little rich. - rapigan, on 04/11/2009, -4/+4From 20 mpg to 23 mpg. Big whoop.
- andergriff, on 04/28/2009, -1/+1An "eco-friendly" Porsche??? That's like drinking alcohol-free beer.
- rgalgozy, on 04/13/2009, -0/+0If you keep that state of mind of course you won't. Ambitions are your friend
- Mangaroo, on 04/11/2009, -2/+1I wanted to see him traveling at high speed and then braking with the ceramic brakes in-front of a brick wall...
- justinlarsen, on 04/11/2009, -6/+4Holy ***** my brain must not be working right from drinking so must last night. I actually just filled out the Nelson survey popup they had on the page. I am going to take a cold shower now.
- 08STI, on 04/11/2009, -2/+0I prefer my cayman s over this... 911's bore me, with exception to the GT3.
- simon182, on 04/11/2009, -10/+6OMG it looks exactly the same as it has for about 60 million years
- k3rfuffl3, on 04/11/2009, -8/+3I wanted to punch him in the face during that manual transmission rant.
- Pseudorious, on 04/10/2009, -10/+4Like coal, in those ads that say it's "increasingly clean."
