- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -4/+47The Greatest Car Ever Made? Really?
- Magicmasta, on 08/21/2008, -3/+38I'll believe it when Jeremy Clarkson says it!
- elmuerte17, on 08/21/2008, -8/+33and before the "american *****" comments start, it's faster and more badass than anything anyone on digg owns.
- NegativeDigg, on 08/21/2008, -2/+25Viper? Saleen? Roush? or are you just a chevy fan..
- Falldog, on 08/20/2008, -0/+22Unfortunately if they did review the ZR1 today, it wouldn't show up on BBC America until 2010.
- nicecnyou, on 08/20/2008, -5/+25One in red, one in white and one in blue please. Not because I'm patriotic, but because I'm greedy and want three of them.
- WoogieHauser, on 08/20/2008, -6/+26Pure American Balls.
- wpsiler, on 08/20/2008, -7/+26I love the fat family in that photo. Look at their faces!
- explnx, on 04/27/2009, -2/+19I guess the market will be flooded with tons of used Enzos and Bugattis as people move up the ladder.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -2/+18O RLY? So the Nürburgring is a straight line then?
Because, you know, the ZR1 managed to lap the Nürburgring faster than any production car ever made. Beat the Bugatti Veyron, any Koenigsegg, any Pagani, any Ferrari, any Porsche, any Lambo. Any car that can beat the Veyron around the 'Ring by 14 seconds is worthy of being called one of the greatest sports cars of all time.
7:26.4, bitches. - Butros, on 08/21/2008, -2/+187:26.4, suck it Trebek...
- BigPapi, on 08/21/2008, -0/+15He did find an American car! He liked the Ford GT so much that he bought one. And then it had to be fixed a few days after delivery because it wouldn't start.
- afterfate, on 08/21/2008, -0/+14So I take it the 'can it turn', 'only in a straight line', and 'it's an American car' crowd have never actually heard anything about this car before...

As for looks, well that is subjective. I happen to love the way it looks but I've always liked Corvette design. - serif69, on 08/21/2008, -3/+17*The Greatest American Car Ever Made
Hell, even that's debatable. - captanobvs, on 08/20/2008, -4/+18Insaaane car-- I want.
- Butros, on 08/21/2008, -0/+12Well the interior probably looks plain and plastic. But you should be looking at road anyway with 638 horse on tap...
- SVOboy, on 08/20/2008, -11/+23Epic
- jotux, on 08/21/2008, -0/+12The emblem on the intake looks like the punisher logo: http://jalopnik.com/photogallery/zr1reviewdetails/ ...
- TheAcidQueen, on 08/20/2008, -9/+20This will be the last decent American supercar made for the next few decades.
Enjoy it while it lasts. - DocH, on 08/21/2008, -2/+13Did none of you 'can it turn' people even read the article, or did you just look at the pictures and post whatever BS you thought would make you look cool/smart?
- jhamer, on 08/21/2008, -0/+11Well the zr1 is faster around the nurburgring, although not by much. The gtr spec v is what will probably beat the zr1.
- mrmorris, on 08/21/2008, -1/+12The rest of the world rates at 100Km/h rather than 60M/h. 60M/H amounts to 96.5 Km/h so it's probably comparable to 3.5 sec. to get to 100 Km/h, which is the same as Ferrari F430.
- seven10, on 08/21/2008, -5/+16Does it still have the same cheap looking GM style interior that the last Corvette had?
- Butros, on 08/21/2008, -0/+10RTFA?
- FireStrife, on 08/21/2008, -1/+11The corvette actually is one of the better racing cars from America, This version with all this upgrades is actually going in the right direction.
you guys are thinking of mustangs only, which i agree most versions have completely poor handling. - matthewdestroys, on 08/21/2008, -0/+10sounds like a monster.
- CrankyHippo, on 08/21/2008, -3/+12I'd like to see it go head to head with the new Nissan GT-R, i saw on the other day in dark gray and wet myself.
- brown2hm, on 08/21/2008, -2/+11Which is triple the price of the corvette...
- cnot3, on 08/20/2008, -2/+11Damn you're right, that was the Z06. Maybe Jeremy Clarkson will finally find an American car he likes.
- bunnyandzombie, on 08/21/2008, -10/+19Corvettes are for balding, insecure douchebags.
I own three. - diggit83, on 08/21/2008, -3/+12....Fail
The dash is still made of cheap plastic even in the ZR-1 - winmywii, on 08/21/2008, -0/+8I'm sorry but there is no way to ***** up a dodge any more than they are from the factory.
- viper565, on 08/21/2008, -5/+13This makes me proud to be a Corvette fanatic.
- winmywii, on 08/21/2008, -0/+8OK the ZR1 model gets 20mpg. Still pretty good for the power output.
- etx313, on 08/21/2008, -2/+10Holden Efigy for the win.
http://www.arabaresimlerim.net/data/media/24/holde ... - winmywii, on 08/21/2008, -0/+8I think the vette gets about 26mpg highway? Not exactly driving down the average.
- hardigree, on 08/20/2008, -6/+14they're thinking "That's the best looking Camaro I've ever seen!"
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -1/+9Well, it _does_ boast the fastest Nürburgring time of any production car ever made...
- staplez, on 08/21/2008, -0/+8Clarkson LOVES the Z06
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvSn7941Ik8
Why does everyone think Clarkson says otherwise? He says besides comfort, the Corvette smokes the Ferrari F430. I mean GOD FORBID I DON'T HAVE MORE CUPHOLDERS. - staplez, on 08/21/2008, -1/+9Did you RTFA?
- PatoLucas, on 08/21/2008, -0/+7RTFA
- drummy41, on 08/21/2008, -8/+15Yes.
- kingmanic, on 08/21/2008, -1/+82009 Corvette ZR1 First Drive: The Greatest American Car Ever Made?
Hows it compare to other high end production vehicles? TFA refers to it's handling being superior and it's ample horse power btu makes few other comparisons. - SDawg, on 08/21/2008, -1/+8Enough said..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordschleife_fastest_ ...
- Shivatron, on 08/21/2008, -1/+8@NegativeDigg and erasedgod: IMO, the Viper and "tuner" cars from shops like Saleen, Roush, and Shelby aren't "decent" supercars -- not by world standards, anyway. "Supercars", by ostensible definition, need to be able to do more than one thing well; at the very least, they need to go fast both in a straight line /and/ around corners. Take the Viper, for example: awesome power, but it's not going to be breaking 'Ring records anytime soon, not in stock form anyway. Even the mid-engined Ford GT was said to lack the finesse of its European and Japanese counterparts.
By paying close attention to handling characteristics and engine construction (ie. not just adding more displacement), GM has departed from the stereotypically American line of thinking that all you need to make a supercar is shoehorn progressively bigger engines into dated chassis designs. That GM managed to do so well on what is essentially the "first go" (yes, I know the Corvette has been around for a long time, but before the ZR1 it was never considered "supercar" material) makes you wonder how well other domestic marques could do it they but their minds (and resources) towards it.
Sadly, with dwindling capital reserves, increased costs, and decreased consumer demands, TheAcidQueen is right: it will be a long time before we see another domestic car live up to the high-water mark set by the ZR1. - sgvprelude, on 08/21/2008, -0/+7Not a corvette fan, but even I have to admit this thing looks awesome
- StanC, on 08/21/2008, -1/+8Maybe that is why its a Corvette? I would not want a Corvette that doesn't look like a Corvette...
- BeatPunchbeef, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6RTFA
- staplez, on 08/21/2008, -3/+9Please actually see what Clarkson says about the Z06 instead of posting your drivel.
