- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+57At least Christopher hasn't written any LOTR prequels that reduce the universe to cheap, romantic stereotypical pulp like Brian Herbert..
- kevro, on 05/05/2009, -1/+53your tolkien seems to be invalid.
- JDBagley, on 05/05/2009, -1/+33He's really not dead. As long as we remember him.
Wait, wrong franchise... - lovek, on 05/05/2009, -2/+31The problem with a lot of these books is that Tolkien didn't publish them for a reason.
Don't get me wrong, it's fantastic to see works of his that keep popping up... but I've tried to read a few and they're pretty dry...
I still love me some Tolkien though. - vegx, on 05/05/2009, -0/+25Possibly for use of the Diggbar.
- shrudheuie, on 05/05/2009, -3/+23Yeah.
2pac:
{They tryin to say that I don't care}
I woke up screamin, "***** the world!"
{They tryin to say that I don't care}
Just woke up and screamed, "***** the world!"
{They tryin to say that I don't care}
Uhh, I woke up and screamed, "***** the world!"
{They're tryin to say that I don't care}
Just got up and screamed, "***** the world!"
Tolkien:
“Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.
One could easily have ghostwritten the others work they are so similar! - enantiodromia, on 05/05/2009, -2/+19I just received "Pride & Prejudice and Zombies" from Amazon.
- kplo, on 05/05/2009, -7/+23Zombie Tolkien will kill us all!
- scubachef11, on 05/05/2009, -0/+16i don't understand why people are digging you down
- jeremymccurdy, on 05/05/2009, -1/+15The Hobbit.
- Stormwern, on 05/05/2009, -1/+14I loved Silmarillion
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -2/+15A funny moment between a young couple while standing in line at Rasputin Music.
"Hey, new Tupac"
"Tupac is dead honey" - supermanly, on 05/05/2009, -0/+12WIN
- BunkeyLunkey, on 05/05/2009, -0/+11Frosty the Snowman?
- a2fan, on 05/05/2009, -0/+11I disagree - imagine your deceased father had developed a hugely popular product with a devoted fanbase (who want more of the product). Aside from seeing the dollar signs, wouldn't you feel a little proud of your father's accomplishments and want to honor his memory by releasing more of his works, pleasing his fans and making some money too? Christopher hasn't "cashed in" but has been very faithful to his father's legacy.
Tolkien always had more stories to tell -- and if time hadn't caught up with him, he would have eventually published a lot more. - detales, on 05/05/2009, -0/+11You know a great writer when you can pretty much rifle through his sofa cushion to find books that he never even told anybody about...
- cosmicr, on 05/05/2009, -0/+10guess I'm not nerdy enough to understand that. can someone explain?
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -1/+11The Lord of the Rings.
- Fixthemedia, on 05/05/2009, -7/+16As an artist, I would hate for my sketches to be released to the world after I died. Not everything was meant for everyone. If he didn release them, then assume they were private.
That being said, many of my years have been dedicated to art history as well, where artifacts were raped(ripped) from the dead. I am a hypocrite. - 8FoldPath, on 05/05/2009, -0/+8At Rasputin Music, no less. :)
- sockpuppets, on 05/05/2009, -1/+9The Shamwow Chronicles.
- lambchoppe, on 05/05/2009, -1/+9Ohhhhhh!!! Now I get it!
- bluestatic, on 05/05/2009, -0/+8Yeah I liked this one too however I found it be very tedious after a while. It was also somewhat hard to keep track of all the people, places, and names of things.
- harrisbradley, on 05/05/2009, -3/+10remnants of the Bury Brigade. I'm on their most wanted list... It's an eternal struggle.

- bcr8u, on 05/05/2009, -0/+7Alive and Well
- bluestatic, on 05/05/2009, -1/+8The Lord of the Rings, Children Of Hurin is also good.
- Makave22, on 05/05/2009, -0/+72pac.
- Frostek, on 05/05/2009, -0/+7If I ever get my hands on Brian Herbert... It's like reading fan fiction Dune stories... :-(
- CabesMojo, on 05/05/2009, -1/+8All hail captain obvious
- Hortinstein, on 05/05/2009, -0/+6when MORE new stuff gets released makes me feel bad for never finishing the Silmarillion...despite its obvious importance in Tolkien nerdery. Forgive me Zombie Tolkien!
- cnot3, on 05/05/2009, -0/+6or like George Lucas...
- PabloIV, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5I hear it's actually good!
- youannoyme, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5I hated those books. Especially since they had blatant disagreements on key facts. (I forget the details, but Brian's origins for Dr Yeuh directly conflicted with how it was laid out in Dune)
- PurpleD423, on 05/05/2009, -1/+6YOU...SHALL...NOT...PUBLISH!
- 8FoldPath, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5If there's a buck to be made, someone will do it. Hell, they published Kafka's papers from his day job, for Pete's sake.
- MogusMaximus, on 05/05/2009, -1/+6GO BACK TO THE SHADOW
- OfNumbers, on 05/05/2009, -0/+4I own some of his sons books which are interesting and worth a read if you love LoTR. Return of The Shadow was my favorite.
- Akairenn, on 05/05/2009, -0/+4Amen.
For a good example of selling out for the $$$ as opposed to carefully releasing writings that, though unfinished, are in huge demand... Take a look at what Frank Herbert's kid is doing. :p
I am thrilled that Christopher Tolkien hasn't gone down *that* route. - piwy, on 05/06/2009, -1/+4Trying to replicate sheldon here won't work as well as on screen i think.
- jakobmakob, on 05/05/2009, -0/+3Although I know it's all in fun, Tupac is the Tolkein of the rap world, not the other way around.
- Fleagleman, on 05/05/2009, -2/+5"Shug shot me."
- broncfan23, on 05/05/2009, -3/+6Dugg for Tupac and Tolkien comparison.
- whiledo, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3The best way I found was in audiobook form. That way you can just kind of zone out for the really boring stuff. You also get to avoid trying to figure out how to pronounce the names (even if the narrator doesn't pronounce them the perfect way - it's not like *I* would when reading it to myself). And the reader on my copy (Martin Shaw) had a weighty, theatrical voice (while not being overacting and hammy) that was perfect for the style of writing.

- PxCxG, on 05/05/2009, -0/+3Dugg for hypocrisy
- boozedrinker, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3Great. Now we are going to start replacing the word posthumous with zombie.
- Rhopalopterum, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3I feel disappointed in real life zombies. Zombie Tolkien just keeps writing fantasy, and after being resurrected, I don't think Zombie Jesus ate a single person.
- Sloi, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3Is *this* the end of Zombie Shakespeare?
