- Cwolf267, on 08/30/2008, -2/+156I'm a bit skeptical. After a bit of searching on google, it appears that Dennis Kaufman has ill repute in the zodiac research community. He's tried to sell what he claims are pieces of one of the zodiac victims shirts for upwards of $50,000.
Heres a quote from one of the posters, made on November 24th 2006:
"Dennis Kaufman is a conman, nothing more. He has some sort of axe to grind with his stepdad, which is why he's accusing him of being Z. The first clue that he's full of it is the fact that he tried to sell a piece of what he claimed was Stine's shirt to Tom for $50,000; I've seen the e-mail, and Kaufman has spent the last several years denying that fact. It only goes to show that he's trying to make money on this but otherwise has no interest in the case; the fact that he wanted to sell a phony piece of Stine's shirt instead of turning it over to the authorities speaks volumes.
The second clue is his baseless claim that his stepdad murdered his mother; I have a copy of her death certificate, and it shows that she died at the UC Davis Medical Center of cardio respiratory arrest due to anoxic brain injury due to respiratory failure due to autoimmune cholangitis. In other words, she died of natural causes due to the rare disease she had. True, she was only 50 years old, but people can die of natural causes at any age.
Dennis Kaufman is not to be taken seriously. Law enforcement obviously doesn't, or they would have arrested Jack Tarrance for the Zodiac murders years ago." - inactive, on 08/29/2008, -1/+107That sound you hear is David Fincher groaning.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy - thegrantman, on 08/30/2008, -2/+71Why did it take 8 years for him to complete his investigation? I would have brought in the FBI a lot sooner than that.
- arcadiansky, on 08/30/2008, -0/+64i'm not commending him by any means, but it's pretty incredible how he just...stopped.
most murderers are addicted to the feeling of killing someone. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+43Jack the Ripper also just ... stopped.
Sometimes serial murderers go into quiescence. BTK stopped killing for over a decade. There are other examples. Illness or incarceration sometimes plays a part. - TheMachine1, on 08/30/2008, -6/+48Old people have been known to get their foot stuck on their cars accelerator and kill more people than the Zodiac.
- shotgunefx, on 08/30/2008, -1/+42Well, a little bit of googling shows that this guy has been saying it for a couple of years and seems a bit shady, for example trying to sell a piece of evidence for $50,000
http://www.zodiackiller.com/discus/messages/27/955 ... - noahgelman, on 08/30/2008, -1/+40That's crazy. I saw several documentaries on the Zodiac Killer murders. I was really interested because mysteries are.... interesting. Anyways, it would be a huge news story if it turns out this guy was the Zodiac Killer.
P.S- The writings are incredibly similar. It would be a huge surprise to me if their writing styles were so close and they were different people - phorty40, on 08/30/2008, -0/+36you could always piss on his grave.
you know, just a thought. - gllopc, on 08/30/2008, -2/+38@Cwolf267: I, sir, am an idiot. You properly left the last quotation mark for the end of the entire quote, and when I didn't see it at the end of the first paragraph, I assumed it was now your comment.
+1 on your original comment. - evilsmirk, on 08/30/2008, -1/+33*Hums the Hurdy Gurdy Man*
- OpenRevolt, on 08/30/2008, -0/+30They clearly said in the video that he believed that there were dozens of other murders meaning that he didn't just stop, he just was more smart about it.
Just like with Wayne Gacy, they only know who he killed from the bodies under his house, but the man had moved around a lot during his life. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+30We don't care about facts, we care about HEADLINES.
- JBmtk, on 08/30/2008, -5/+32Too bad the bastard died, if I lost someone to him I don't know what I'd do.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+27Actually i'm going to call *****
I just watched all 3 parts of the interview and the last part of the 3rd section seemed very dodgey.
So the guy finds a KNIFE (with blood on it), a hood and photo's --> but he has only turned over the hand written letters and envelopes over to the FBI (that were NOT contained in the PA box)?
Can i infer that the knife, hood and photos were all bogus and rejected by the FBI?
Second point, when a month ago he first found the PA Box containing all this stuff the interviewer asks him "who was the first person you called?"
he replies "Steve"
interviewer "Steve from the FBI?"
he replies "no steve my book publicist" - robdiggity, on 08/30/2008, -3/+28Redrum bitches!
On another note, isn't it sad how the sinister effect of the "All work and no play..." post is greatly diminished in this day and age, as nobody uses typewriters any more, and achieving the effect is as simple as one Ctrl-C followed by a number of Ctrl-Vs? I mean, if I discovered somebody's word processor window filled up with a bunch of that, I'd head-slap the guy and tell him to quit screwing around and get back to work. - MrMysterious, on 08/30/2008, -2/+26This is story useless unless I see pictures from the undeveloped film.
- dojonz, on 08/30/2008, -3/+27@gllopc, dugg for not being an *****.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+25Awesome! We finally got him! Now let's go arrest hi...... oh *****. He got away with it, didn't he? Wow, we suck at this.
- Cwolf267, on 08/30/2008, -1/+21What's in the little quotation marks (They look like this " ") are said by the person I'm "quoting" meaning that they would be the ones who may or may not actually have a copy of said birth certificate, not me.
- Nerolus, on 08/30/2008, -3/+22Here's his myspace. As you can see, he has no friends.
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=us ... - outgregged, on 08/30/2008, -0/+19Be an internet tough guy?
- fluxion, on 08/30/2008, -0/+19in fairness, he seems to think his stepfather murdered his mother, so there might be a wee bit of a grudge as well.
but the FBI supposedly confirmed they're testing the DNA evidence provided, so that should pretty much settle it. - xadious, on 08/30/2008, -1/+18How can Allen have been the Zodiac killer if he was cleared by a DNA analysis AND passed a polygraph?? His finger prints didn't even match.
- EarthernJar, on 08/30/2008, -0/+16... and isn't there some Bin Laden dude they're supposed to be looking for?
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+16Poet; that was one of the worst things I've seen anyone say and it paints a ***** bad portrait of you.
you make me feel like a Edvard munch. - circaxxxx, on 08/30/2008, -0/+14dugg for tom being his number one
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+15Poet, you're a *****. Prostitutes provide a valuable service to the community. If someone kills them all, who are we going to have sex with for money?
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+14Screw the handwriting.
I can't wait for the results on the knife, hood and photos.
Actually, probably don't even want to tihnk what's on those photo reels. - thegrantman, on 08/30/2008, -1/+15So this guy is possibly manufacturing claims against his dead father to score a few bucks? They don't come much lower than that.
- jakethelake, on 08/30/2008, -0/+13I had the same thought! At least we can still celebrate the fact that it was shot digitally.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -2/+15his name is robert paulson
- iamdura, on 08/30/2008, -1/+14I love how they throw in the useless tidbits that are pending confirmation.. such as this elusive barbecue/blood covered knife.
- ANA1OG, on 08/30/2008, -1/+13that was EXACTLY what I was thinking.
great movie anyway btw. - OpenRevolt, on 08/30/2008, -0/+11Its a quote from a post on a zodiac killer fan club site.
- VivaLaUndead, on 08/30/2008, -0/+11here is the guys website. i really think its a case of my stepdad was an ***** to me.
http://thezodiackiller.digitalzones.com/ - Qumahlin, on 08/30/2008, -0/+11The issue is that as usual the police didn't take the guy seriously for quite some time as he didn't initially find the evidence and the police weren't just going to search his property for the hell of it.
Sadly when it comes to the police and public tips, they get so many crackpots saying they are the killer, their parents are the killers, their neighbors are the killers that its hard to weed out the real from the fake - sweetbean, on 08/30/2008, -0/+10"no steve my book publicist"
dead ringer. - TitanX7, on 08/30/2008, -4/+14The search for this guy for 50 years and yet they won't take ten minutes to find out who killed Tupac or Biggie.
- JPJones, on 08/30/2008, -4/+14I've studied the Zodiac case quite a bit so I'm pretty firm in my belief (which lines up with Graysmith) that Allen was Zodiac, not this guy. I'd have to see a lot more evidence from qualified sources before I'd start considering this suspect.
- Jonmad17, on 08/30/2008, -2/+12Arthur Leigh Allen is laughing in his grave. The police need to confirm this before I believe it.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+13Inference: you like to see dead / mutilated people
Judgment: you sick bastard - MrWolf, on 08/30/2008, -1/+10The audio recording gives me the chills
- GenghisTom, on 08/30/2008, -0/+9That's ok though. To him it is Judgment useless
- kurotenshi, on 08/30/2008, -0/+9He seems to have just released a video trailer for an upcoming documentary...today??

this is just strange, or opportunistic. - Nerolus, on 08/30/2008, -3/+12"....Zodiac Killer fan club site"
Is it wrong that I laughed at this? - knuckles, on 08/30/2008, -0/+9I watched all the clips from the interview and the guy seems to have been trying to tell people for the last 8 years. Even the news crew states they can't show us the reel that was processed because it shows people that have obviously been murdered. Kinda makes it harder not to believe this kid (40+ yr old kid...)
It's very interesting stuff. If he is faking it then he's setting himself up for some serious failure. - Merp08, on 08/30/2008, -1/+10w t f
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+8OMG!! Bin Laden was the Zodiac!
This changes EVERYTHING! -
