Why No Child is Safe from the Sinister Cult of 'Emo'
dailymail.co.uk — Eight months have now passed since 13-year-old Hannah Bond committed suicide. One day Hannah's mother Heather went to check on her daughter and found her hanging by a tie from the top rail of her bunk bed. Why on earth did their daughter do such a thing? They could find only one clue: Hannah was what is known as an "emo".

- mellomeh, on 05/15/2008, -1/+11Even by the Daily Mail's usual standards, this is pretty low.
- sidianmsjones, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I don't know about "low". This emo ***** has been destroying the airwaves since it's conception and just gives these self-absorbed kids another reason to victimize themselves.
Then I'd probably off myself if I listened to Blink 182 too.

- JigoroKano, on 05/15/2008, -5/+24"American bands such as My Chemical Romance, Good Charlotte and Blink 182 are particular favourites."
Obviously their horrible taste in music is driving them to suicide.- actionscripted, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4When did Blink 182 become emo? Oh right, Boxcar Racer et al.
"Dammit" is still a great song -- even though it's been over-played in nearly every video game and extreme sports broadcast.- Pinkshisno, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I still love Blink 182, but it's mostly nostalgia and all.
- RexyRex, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Perfectly stated.

- sjug, on 05/15/2008, -1/+6With all the positive news and events happening these days, one wonders why someone would want to kill themselves.

- dinobot, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Don't you get it? They want to suffer to feel alive! Some just happen to go over the edge~
- doctechnical, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4They should do what the rest of us do.
Get a job.
- doctechnical, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4They should do what the rest of us do.
- orientis, on 05/15/2008, -2/+8I'm sorry, but this is the only appropriate response: LOLZ
To paraphrase Bill Hicks, a fan of Good Charlotte kills themself? What's the problem? - desirecomplex, on 05/15/2008, -1/+14"the 'black parade' is a place where all emos believe they will go when they die" WTF?
- doctechnical, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I think I saw that in the movie "Something Wicked This Way Comes", lead by Jonathan Pryce.
- redcolumbine, on 05/15/2008, -0/+20Try "undiagnosed clinical depression."
- valis, on 05/15/2008, -1/+6Thank you. I'm glad someone had the brains to point out the obvious. There's a lot more to those kids than makeup and attitude - and a lot of it can be traced back to childhood trauma.
- vault, on 05/16/2008, -2/+1Even if emo stems from childhood trauma, that doesn't give them the right to traumatize the rest of us with their ***** music and ***** personalities.
- valis, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1You lost me with that logic. So which music do you approve of and how does someone else's choice in music traumatize you?

- zombird, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5I thought gothic music was bad until emo came along.
- orientis, on 05/15/2008, -1/+5Name a band that plays goth music. Here's a hint: Marilyn Manson is not one.
- protogenxl, on 05/15/2008, -1/+2The Cure
- dinobot, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5Gregorian Monks?
- Stupidumb, on 05/15/2008, -3/+1That made my balls laugh.

- cricket01, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4Yeah, because it is the music and clothes that are killing these kids, not the underlying problems that attracted them to this lifestyle.
The Dailymail is just a step above the Weekly World News, but then again, at least WWN has articles about bigfoot's baby mama drama. - suzywang3000, on 05/15/2008, -3/+5emos are even worse than Koreans.
- protogenxl, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5Friends don't let Friends be Emo.
- killbert24, on 05/15/2008, -2/+6OMG this girl is an embarrassment to humans everywhere. Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, and Good Charlotte are pop bands with songs that are often more uplifting than they are downers telling you to kill yourself.
They keep blaming My Chemical Romance but the fact of the matter is-- it is the girls' friends and popular culture that are to be blamed. I listen to all the above bands and dress in nice, clean cut clothes. I don't cut myself or try anything else suicidal. This girl just joined a fad where annoying teens whine about how terrible life is.
I feel bad for the parents and give my condolences. - wynja, on 05/15/2008, -2/+7Woot, one less emo.
- akkibaba, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXE7G2-1jhQ
The video of Butters' epic pwnage of the sad Goth kids from a very touching episode of South Park. - ZiggyPlayedG, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3That was easily the most uninformed, piece-of-***** article I've ever read.
- tehbored, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Wow this is just hilarious. Not the death, that's not funny, I do feel bad for the girl's family. What's funny is how terrible the article is. If only the Daily Mail would become emo and kill itself.
