- shagg187, on 08/21/2008, -1/+11It's weird how the most influential things the other musicians in that list have done are "Sell record and go on tour". Isn't that what every musician should do?
Viva La Reznor! - incendiarylvr, on 08/21/2008, -0/+10"Internet nerds have embraced Reznor as the music industry's Antichrist"
They could have summed up his innovations quite a bit better. - holyreality, on 08/21/2008, -1/+7NIN rocks and innovates.
- iSiafu, on 08/21/2008, -1/+6Trent has been around for years, and has influenced many people through these hard years. He deserves it.
- russizm, on 08/21/2008, -2/+6GOGO NIN FORCE! CLICK, CLIIIICK!!!!
- whatthefu, on 08/21/2008, -0/+3This list of nominations is kind of weird. Christian Bale doesn't exactly influence how I think, buy or behave.
- igetnospamatall, on 08/21/2008, -0/+3David Bowie said about 10 years ago, that NIN's influence can only be compared to that of the Velvet Underground.
- Reaktor5, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2Voted for Trent.
Really sucks the show in Worcester, MA was rescheduled from this month to November. I was looking forward to going. I'll be in college 3 and a half hours away and won't be able to make it. Still love you Trent, keep making kick ass music.
Also, Justin Vernon was amazing when I saw Bon Iver last month. Thanks to Kevin for getting me listen to them. - russizm, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2By the way, if you haven't heard, check out the performance NIN is putting on this year. Mindblowing stage setup!
http://youtube.com/user/KyleEasterly - guildmaster, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2Trent has done and will continue to do what his fans demand in terms of mediums for his music; he provides choice in medium, quality, and price. I would say that alone is more influential than most of the artists on that list, and regardless of your musical tastes, his goals and accomplishments in his "business model", rather his desire to share his talents with as many people as possible, are admirable and deserve recognition.

http://www.askmen.com/specials/2008_top_49/vote/1 - cheddamash, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Wait they have a Political section and Ron Paul isn't an option? Fail.
- flyineye, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1Hmm. I'm an old fan of NIN. I saw them at the first Lollapolloza. An amazing show. I've listened to them since Pretty Hate Machine. As far as most influential people, I'm not sure. As a recording engineer, Broken and The Downward Spiral did influence some of my mixing ideas and working with extreme dynamics. And his whole releasing music via the internet and the way he did it defiantly deserves big kudos. So while I wasn't sure at first, I didn't want to vote just because I was a fan, the more I think about it, the more I can honestly believe he deserves a vote. So my comment has convinced me.
- Dibou, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1Their list sucks.
- LemonChicken, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1Thom Yorke deserves equal praise, I believe.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -2/+2First of all, its only August.
Second of all, Kevin Rose is under Businessmen and Politicians. That should be a big indicator that this is a ***** survey designed to drive traffic to a ***** website. You think most American men have a ***** clue who Kevin Rose is?
Nice try. Buried. - inactive, on 08/21/2008, -3/+1Trent Reznor was not the most influential man of 2008 and if you think he was I feel sorry for you.
BURIED.
