- pumacub, on 01/11/2009, -0/+46Those posters cost $120? Ridiculous.
- MCA2142, on 01/11/2009, -0/+32What about the 5.25" floppy? No love for the side hole puncher?
- tbhurst, on 01/10/2009, -3/+33Wait, everyone people doesn't use 3.5 inch floppies anymore? Uh-oh.
- SeaMowse, on 01/11/2009, -0/+30I thought this was going to be back in the REAL 'dark ages', when a 'floppy disk', truly was a 'floppy disk'. 3.5 doesn't count!
- JamesBondJr, on 01/11/2009, -1/+28Imagine stacking 1760 floppy disks on your desk just to play a computer game
- ousthouse, on 01/11/2009, -0/+26Holy *****... the 3.5" is considered the "early days of tech"? I'm getting old.
- Khast, on 01/11/2009, -0/+23Please insert disk #1201 and press any key
Disk corrupt aborting installation.. - bennyshoham, on 01/10/2009, -3/+26I love retro-tech style. Get me one plz :)
- hckynck20, on 01/11/2009, -0/+22For $120 i better be getting the poster and all the disks with the software.
- houndeyex, on 01/11/2009, -0/+12And tape to cover it back up again
- 818digg, on 01/10/2009, -4/+15Whats a floppy disk?
haha, those are pretty cool. - Wulffy, on 01/10/2009, -4/+14First amazed! Later remembered the old times. Yes, in the 80s you got 8 games on a floppy disc at C= 64. Later 1 to 0.3 games at Amiga. I loved those tiny 3.5 inch floppy disks at Amiga...
How many do you need for VISTA? But, formatting all of them would be too much time and a waste of floppies...
The posters are really cool with astonishing quality of artworks. Wondering about the size of the poster for the floppy disks you need for Sims 3...
Ah, really cool idea! - pumacub, on 01/11/2009, -0/+8Especially considering an hour or two with Photoshop and I could replicate the same poster.
- Wulffy, on 01/10/2009, -2/+10Hey, does anyone know when those posters will be available? Do they ship worldwide?
- retral, on 01/11/2009, -0/+8Yeah, lets pay $120 for a few pieces of mass-printed paper.
- franklymister, on 01/11/2009, -0/+8How is that "early days?"
I was expecting some cool packaging from the old 8" or 5 1/4" floppies, like the awesome Elephant disks or the hilarious Beagle Brothers warning labels. This is just lame.
Here's some actual vintage floppy art - the sleeves at least: http://www.cyberden.com/dsa/ - inactive, on 01/10/2009, -2/+9Should use on CDs since I dont use 3.5 floppies. Holy cow, I do have a spot for them though.
- EricAnderton, on 01/11/2009, -0/+7The "early days"? Heh, only if you're 18. The rest of us know better. ;)
- Inox555, on 01/11/2009, -0/+6As if spoken by Australian actor, Paul Hogan:
That's not a floppy...

THAT'S a floppy! - merlinicorpus, on 01/11/2009, -0/+6Yeah, I looked at that too. I was going to buy one until I saw that.
- EricAnderton, on 01/11/2009, -0/+6Screw that, imagine trying to get all those home from the bookstore*.
(* for the uninitiated - back in the day, before we had stuff like GameStop) - pumacub, on 01/11/2009, -1/+6You mean a 3.5 inch floppy dick.
- AmandaQ, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5You know, I actually miss those little disks. There was something very satisfying about labeling and organizing and color-coding them in their little file boxes.
- oboshoe, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5Pretty neat, but I'd rather see it done with 5.25 inch diskettes
Pretty good timing too, as I'm in the middle of rescuing my old atari 8 bit diskette library by transferring it to modern media. Kinda sad that I'm losing 20% of my old collection due to deteriorating media. - EricAnderton, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5::Shakes fist at the sky in quiet despiraiton::
Screw this, I'm playing Scorched Earth instead. - say592, on 01/12/2009, -0/+5I would buy this, but $100+? Seriously?
- josepablos, on 01/11/2009, -1/+6i want crysis in floppy please!!!
- ChaosProfessor, on 01/11/2009, -0/+48 is older than 5 1/4
- jasongbc, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4Do you put that in the floppy dick drive?
- mollysue111, on 01/11/2009, -1/+5$120.00 at Antreposhop (http://www.antreposhop.com/product/3-5-inch-poster ...
..and yes. - AikoMiko, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4Yeah?! I remember the 8 inch floppy disk. And in a few more years I'll have an 8 inch floppy dick. Time sucks.
- dasmonki, on 01/12/2009, -0/+4I said I... am an everyone people
- shadowman99, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4One of the coolest logos from the early days of micro-computers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ElephantFloppy.j ... - franklymister, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4Elephant was the best.
I was watching WarGames last night, and spotted an ad for Elephant floppies on the back of the magazine that David Lightman finds the ad for Protovision games in... - inactive, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4still have my notcher
- KingGorilla, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4Might as well just buy the floppy disks yourself
- franklymister, on 01/12/2009, -0/+4Here you go, real floppies: http://jaysonelliot.squarespace.com/journal/2009/1 ...
I've put up a link so you can download it high-res, and print it out in poster format for free.
Spoiler alert - it takes 1,988 of the old floppy floppies to hold an Ubuntu install CD. - malasa, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4wtf are the labels upside down? only morons would use it this way.
So you can see that they have no clue what they are doing ... but oh, it's art.
nice try ... - AikoMiko, on 01/12/2009, -0/+4and longer
- turquoisefish, on 01/11/2009, -1/+5That's not a floppy, that is a very rigid laserdisc in a caddy
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -0/+3The REAL vintage floppy disks, 8x8s.
http://scrapsofpaper.net/store_floppy.php - Avaseal, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3imagine when the install program asks you to insert install disK #847 and realizing it didn't come in the box.
- oboshoe, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3Elephant Memory Systems
"Never Forgets" - 2of8, on 01/12/2009, -0/+3Or realizing that your mom pinned that to the fridge.
- Ardiente, on 01/10/2009, -1/+4Kinda like collecting vinyls, and paying 30 bucks for them these days, but better because it's not actually real. I burned all my floppys for heat when CDs came out, so baby here's my chance at redemption.
- salmonmoose, on 01/12/2009, -0/+3Yeah - at those prices, I'll just scan a disk and do it myself.
- linuxeventually, on 01/12/2009, -0/+3Exactly it is retro NOT vintage
- franklymister, on 01/12/2009, -0/+3Oops. I broke the link. Here it is: http://jaysonelliot.squarespace.com/journal/2009/1 ...
- EMTtech, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3how many magnetic tape reels is that? CS4 that is...
