how about we put some of that stimulus money into art stuff for communities. look what WPA did for this country, decorative surfaces and public sculpture everywhere. sure maybe it wasn't the most radical twee stuff but when you take it away all you have left is spec'ed aluminum and concrete, and people marching through it unconnected. - Hoogs, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4I live in Grand Rapids and I hadn't even heard of this. There are a lot of artists out there who make my (and probably your) life worth living through their music, photographies, movies, paintings, plays and so on. Can you imagine a world where everybody is just writing numbers on paper in order to generate more numbers on paper? Would that be a world you'd like to live in?
