Tutankhamun - Mystery solved
religion-place.info — The most famous Egyptian pharaoh today is, without doubt, Tutankhamun. The boy king died in his late teens and remained at rest in Egypt's Valley of the Kings for over 3,300 years. These days, the true face of Tutankhamun was revealed to the public for the first time since he died in mysterious circumstances.

- bigpicturecolin, on 03/01/2008, -1/+2My favorite: The guy in the middle of the picture around the tomb wearing the Indiana Jones hat. OK, we get it, you're an archaeologist.
- pagit, on 03/02/2008, -0/+2That's World-renowned archaeologist, Zahi Hawass who "currently serves as Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Director of Excavations at Giza, Saqqara and the Bahariya Oasis".
He oversees many excavations.

- marksmayo, on 03/02/2008, -0/+3I'm confused. They say that until today only about 50 people have seen the body, and how it is now moved to a glass case for people to see. Written Feb 28th, 2008.
I was in the tomb in the Valley of the Kings on....the 29th of December, last year, and there the body was, exactly as described in the article, cloth coverage all but head and feet, in the glass case (with a LOT of temperature/humidity sensors and security), for all to see (for an extra price from the regular tour, but not much extra - the queue alone had 50 people. Has something changed or is this article just really really late to press? - diggitny, on 03/02/2008, -0/+6@ marksmayo: This story is old (well, it first surfaced in November 2007). It's just been repackaged with some nice pictures and an attention-grabbing title, and some money-generating ads have been strategically festooned here and there. The article doesn't pretend that this is a brand new discovery. In fact, if you google the story, you will see it came out in early November 2007 and is all over the net. Some people, like this writer, are adept at grabbing our attention with a good headline and description, for which the writer deserves commendation. I've seen other stories that deserved to be dugg fall away because of a poorly-written headline. (E.g., "Best . . . Valentines . . . Ever" go almost no diggs because of the unimaginative headline, and yet the drawings it linked to made me spew my soda out my nose. Ouch!
