I have been to this station. It really needs to be cleaned up. The angle of the photo does not do justice to just how far out the roof hangs in space. Someone should really put up the cash to restore the building.

Why don’t *you* put up the cash, if you think it’s so run down?

- endlessoul, on 10/02/2008, -0/+5It's one of the numbers.
4 8 15 16 23 42 - StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+4Yeah, I came here to be a grammar nazi too, then realised they didn't mean "most modern".
- DragonGirl724, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4did the Enterprise land on the roof of #7...?
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4I love mid-20th century architecture.
Googie FTW. - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4and 14?
- KloroFormd, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4Dugg purely because I laughed.
On another note, the comments are here for people to state their opinion... - orvl, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4Gotta love how the thumbnail on the front page is just "bj" ... LOLZ
- gaqua, on 10/02/2008, -3/+7Whew! Thanks for that. Without your feedback I might have formed my own opinion!
Good lord, how close I may have come to a thought! To think of it! - CalamityJoe, on 10/01/2008, -6/+9boring boring boring
- Chakat, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3Style from the late 50s. Lots of angles and cantilevers. Think Disneyland's Tomorrowland pre-renovation.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Can't wait 'til these become the norm.
- MaLLiii, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Gulf themed petrol stations are the shiznit.

- SpeedBreed, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2My fav. is No. 2 - looks a bit like Retro Style :).
- PuyoDead, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Modernist?
- DigablePlanet, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Frank Lloyd Wright designed gas stations too?
- doublefelix, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1Good luck getting gas at #12.
- bonez56, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1That's immediately what I thought.
- capnawesome, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1hey I go to IIT. the gas station isn't there anymore, took it down to make room for this http://www.iit.edu/about/history/architects/images ...
improvement, yes? we have enough box buildings on campus. - intanet, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1This story immediately made me think of the "Helios House" BP gas station in Los Angeles. In person, it looks like a polygonal rendering from the mid-90's.
http://flickr.com/photos/arturochang/409334375/ - trollick, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1Doesn't #15 look exactly like every single gas station out there?
- yosserhughes, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1Look even better at night.
http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient ... - pradvan, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1Looks like ***** from the 50's
- richw, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1I think most new BP+Shell gas stations look more modern than any of these. You know the ones with the fancy pumps that have plasma TVs that you can watch while you pump gas. In fact, half of the gas stations on that list look like regular gas stations, and the other half I would say look more unique, than modern.
- drdan, on 10/02/2008, -2/+1Modernist? How about most modern.
- lilhelper, on 10/02/2008, -2/+1Oh, I used to live next to # 4, and that piece of ***** is ugly!
It needs to be torn down.
Its in orangevale, CA.
not sacramento. - abaddon15, on 10/02/2008, -1/+0The one in Sacramento is in a ridiculously ***** part of town. I've driven by but will NEVER stop there.
- dha07030, on 10/02/2008, -4/+2Lame
