- mobislink, on 05/29/2009, -2/+35If you can afford any of these watches you don't need to know the time.
- Octanum, on 05/29/2009, -0/+16Wow, #1 is hideous. Do people only buy it just so others know they have 25 million to blow on a piece of crap?
- BorsKaegel, on 05/29/2009, -1/+16Spend that $25 million on a crazy white-haired scientist and a Delorean and make your own time. Add a sports almanac and change history.
- klitzbtc, on 05/30/2009, -0/+9#4, even though it's 1.5 Million, is a great looking watch. The rest are meeehhh.
- Hedison, on 05/29/2009, -2/+11At a certain level this becomes a little ridiculous
- unknamed, on 05/29/2009, -3/+12Who even buys a watch anymore? Isn't that what cell phones are for?
- kentifer, on 05/30/2009, -0/+9There's usually a clock on the wall.
- SamSks, on 05/30/2009, -0/+8That's why I wear a Timex and stuff my pants. Then, people will think it's real.
- 11mdg11, on 05/30/2009, -0/+7the last one looks like someone shat diamonds
- jasdf, on 05/30/2009, -0/+7I don't think that any of these are particularly accurate. A run of the mill quartz watch is probably much more accurate.
- inactive, on 05/30/2009, -0/+7Pretty much. The super rich aren't like normal people. They associate cost with beauty.
- donthurtemhamme, on 05/29/2009, -1/+8I used to sort of collect watches, mostly pocket. I've also owned a Rolex and a limited edition Tag Heuer. Then one day I thought "WTF, why am I wearing this thing?". It scrapes the crap out of my laptop wrist rest, I keep catching it on clothing, my wrist feels sweaty all the time, etc, etc. My phone does a great job keeping track of the time, in different time zones...plus it does a ton more than any watch I've ever seen. I'm all about device convergence.
I appreciate the craftsmanship of a nice watch, heck I still have a couple of very fine pocket watches, but jeez, people need to get into the 21st century. What are you Amish?
Any dude insecure enough that he needs an $800,000 watch to prove how "special" he is, has some serious small penis issues. - Khast, on 05/29/2009, -0/+6Meh, no thanks. I'll stick with my Casio, thank you. At least if mine breaks, I can easily get a replacement for less than $100. May not be pretty, but it works, that is all that matters to me.
- mahill, on 05/30/2009, -0/+6Let me guess, it has a calculator on it.
- unknamed, on 05/29/2009, -2/+8And that level is about $100.00, give or take $50.00.
- mikemehak, on 05/30/2009, -0/+5Remember when it was bad ass to have a indiglo watch?
Those were the days. - pandawa, on 05/30/2009, -0/+4the #1 looks like crap. i like the less expensive ones actually.
- z0zin, on 05/29/2009, -1/+4I appreciate a nice time piece, but some of these are ridiculous. You can only get so accurate and blinged out.
- PandaBearShenyu, on 05/30/2009, -0/+3instantrimshot.com
- Vaelkar, on 05/30/2009, -0/+3At least these can tell time.
What can a Mac do? - Mootabolife, on 05/30/2009, -0/+3You can hire someone to follow you around and tell it to you.
- frontaxle, on 05/30/2009, -0/+3Looks like P Diddy's drawer...
Gaudy is a waste - Riggaberto, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2buried for breaking down the 3rd wall of acknowledging digg users
- Mootabolife, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2They can be completely unrelated and still be brought into any article by a fanboy.
- JHW539, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Not only do I never want to own one of these, I don't even want to stand next to a guy wearing one. I may stumble and cause more damage than my house is worth.
- diearzte2, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Posting because watches do much more than tell time, and they ALWAYS will.
- jguy584, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Cover it in $20 million worth of precious stones and it will be...
- amorpheus, on 05/30/2009, -3/+5A watch has been a needless accessory for a few years now. Most people just pull out their cell phone if they need to know the time.
- Khast, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Timex, it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.
Though my only problem with Timex, is they never have the features I need. - SamSks, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Pft! Timex baby!
You know what the funny thing is? Those cheap quartz watches are more accurate than those megebuck watches! - Shaggy3, on 05/29/2009, -1/+3Ahh I love pocket watches.
- jrhinlb, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Those watches are all beautiful, but anyone who buys one needs to give away more money.
- Phoghat, on 05/31/2009, -0/+2I belong to a pool/country club and I have an acquaintance who owns a Murcielago, and wears a customized Rolex President. Guess what? He's 5' 8" wears a shirt open to the navel, and is recently divorced. The women just giggle and whisper behind his back.
- inactive, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2I totally agree, #4 is awesome "834 parts" and an "astronomical indicator of the night sky"
- Gguillorn, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1The right ring can be tough as all hell. You are way too concerned about removing any doubts about your manliness.
- bluewithinblue, on 05/30/2009, -1/+2I can't believe this is "arts_culture" ! WTF.
- Elfin, on 05/29/2009, -1/+2Well, all of these watches and I've been quibbling on spending $500 on a watch. Go figure.
- FauOz, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1I could hire a personal time giver for less then one of these watches or just look at my cell phone clock for nothing
- acca, on 08/10/2009, -0/+1$1 million for watch?!
- 11mdg11, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1damn
- ViscidGobs, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1Do people even wear watches anymore?
- arplayer2k, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1I don't think spending more than $20k on a watch, if you are super wealthy is warranted. Its a waste.
I'd buy a simple yet well crafted Audimar Piguet. - renilative, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1What do you know... some people still buy watches
- blake182, on 05/31/2009, -0/+1Teacher: You see this watch? It's jammed with so many jewels, the hands can't move. What kind of watch do you have?
Homer: Uh, well I drew it on. - phillyharper, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1You monsters stole our idea!
http://blog.watchsuperstar.com/index.php/2009/04/2 ... - tallulahvulture, on 05/31/2009, -0/+1i'll know i've made it when i own an audemars piguet.
and yes, digg me down if you want, but i appreciate luxury watches.(not the crap covered in diamonds though.) real watches. - merimeet, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1The rich do tend to spend their money on useless things if they can.
- str3ama, on 05/30/2009, -1/+1who needs a watch, all you need is a marker and maybe some easy-wipes to help you update the time every hour. That's how real men tell the time ...
- decker12, on 05/29/2009, -4/+3Strangely, my old Casio C80 isn't on this list.
