- seantubridy, on 11/14/2008, -1/+8I think that is his job. He's working and he's making money doing it. I think that's the definition of "job".
- GeeksSpeakFont, on 11/14/2008, -1/+7Oh my God, that dragon is so cool.
- ClevelandBrown, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5Wow you must be really important in your field of work to have such a condescending view of artists... meat packing, perhaps?
- hammerpants, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5Cool images. How hard is it to put them all on one page?
- Carpy, on 11/14/2008, -1/+6There was an artist in Chicago who did some similar work. There are some substantial sculptures in a neighborhood on the north side near where I used to live. I loved walking around and discovering them in places you didn't expect.
- Jude007, on 11/14/2008, -1/+5Really ***** Beautiful.
- Ibox, on 11/14/2008, -1/+5These are beautiful sculptures made with a unique medium, what about any of this is not art... it's unique, beautiful, and would take great talent.
- Surferess, on 11/14/2008, -1/+3Hey that is crafty! Super slow website transitions, but worth the wait IMO.
- ClevelandBrown, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2These works are fantastic, I love how each piece has a real flow to it.
- p3ngwin, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2by your own admission art is subjective, and therefore "standards" don't exist as the experience and perception of any "standard" is purely a personal one.
so for you to say it isn't art means that it isn't for YOU. you can not say it isn't art for anyone else as you don't have the same tastes as everybody else.
it's like saying "this jam is tasty", then another person would say "no it's not!"
their perception is true, for both of them in their perception of reality. - whataSAMF, on 11/28/2008, -1/+3the owl is my favorite.
- gab00n, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2So that's what the scousers do with all the hubcaps they steal.
- bman85, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1Wow, this guy had real talent. I'm amazed.
When i first saw the title i was expecting another hippie-hermit trash art collection, but these are real works of art. - SoupGFX, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1Sweetness... Keep up the good work and creativity.
- deenoop, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2This is amazing. The crazy looking fish and the lizard on the table are my favorite.
- p341250n, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2Awesome. Very Steampunk.
- painting, on 11/14/2008, -1/+2now this is art.
- Ibox, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1I thought the same...
- uncleosbert, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1feel free not to then. it's your loss.
- spottydog88, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1Truly badasseded!
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1From the Conservative Art Critic: "Oh brother, here we go again: yet another fartist who thinks that just by calling himself a "creative professional" and slapping some junk together that he's going to change the world and get his name etched in immortality up there with DaVinci, Rembrandt, and Kinkade®. Seriously, this so-called "green" art really gets my goat; don't these libtartists realize that by insisting on using recycled junk for their "pieces" they are helping to destroy the economy and business of the artists' supply industry? Sure, they rage on about getting government funding for their crap - as usual, YOUR tax dollars at work, my friends! - but, ask them to put out a few dollars for pastels and modeling clay?? Oh, perish the thought! They use THAT money to pay for their trendy loft "spaces" and their arugula lattés and their wasted afternoons lounging around with their comrades and complaining about your right to keep your own hard-earned money while smoking God knows what. I tell you, my friends, it's downright un-patriotic! But what else can you expect from these lefties? You call that sculpture? I'm sorry, but I'll take my Precious Moments angels over these communist contraptions ANY day, thank you very much!"
- p341250n, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1Because it is very mechanical?
- ummagummas08, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1Haha- why was the first thing I thought "People are freakin' weird."?
- p3ngwin, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1the guy is from Brighton, South coast of England, UK.
i lived there for years before moving to Australia 2 years ago.
the guy is a talented genius with refreshing originality.
one of the pubs i used to go to in Brighton had a 20ft squared "octopus" made "INTO" the ceiling of the pub.
think of what a creature would look like with head and tentacles coming out of the water...then flip that up-side-down and replace the water with a ceiling!
amazing imagery. - ThrgoodMarshall, on 11/14/2008, -1/+1Bad Ass!
- silophysis, on 11/15/2008, -0/+0ORLY?
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+1i bet this guy is from newark
- gravylookout, on 11/14/2008, -1/+1How is this even close to steampunk?
- behavedave, on 11/14/2008, -0/+0Some coastal town in the Britain going off the pictures and the article. The dog is my fave.
- drunkinlife, on 11/14/2008, -1/+1when I show my kids these, the amount junk in my home will increase. their justification: "art supplies dad." amazing work. very well done.
- hardscrabble, on 11/14/2008, -0/+0The artist in Chicago does his sculptures with car and truck fenders and welds them together. Many are on the south side such as a 8 ft long lion in front of a school in canaryville, a 9 foot tall horse in front of an old warehouse in bridgeport, and very large ape somewhere on the northside.
- psyonic1, on 11/15/2008, -1/+0Something is getting packed, but I'm guessing it's his fudge...
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -4/+22 questions: First, does this also apply to spinner hubcaps? Second, could Flava Flav hang one of these from his neck as well?
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -3/+1are is subjective in case you haven't noticed.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -5/+1are you sure it's just not a hobo's favorite past time? Are you sure? The standards of art just keeps on falling and the messed up things is, people keep buying it.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -5/+0Wow, this is so interesting...
*cough* - myk7, on 11/14/2008, -7/+1It would be so nice to not have a job...
