- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -3/+60The photos for New York, Sydney, Venice, Berlin, Graz, and San Francisco were all terrible photos to showcase what the photo collection was about. This isn't about lovely individual buildings, so don't give me a picture of one building. That's not a "skyline"
Dugg for the list. There were some decent pics, but the rest were not very relevant. Surprising to find that out on this list, considering how it seemed like they just search flickr for those photos. - DragoonWraith, on 08/19/2008, -0/+33Worst photograph of New York's skyline that I have ever seen.
- HuskyPuzzle, on 08/19/2008, -2/+16I would agree with fudged71 about Graz and Venice, but I've lived in both SF and Sydney and I think those pics represent their skylines perfectly.
- socialpyramid, on 08/19/2008, -2/+15Detroit?
- ianmack, on 08/19/2008, -1/+14gotta love the Vancouver inclusion. the walk around False Creek is beautiful.
- jupaneanu, on 08/19/2008, -1/+12I love the Hong Kong skyline
- waaan, on 08/19/2008, -1/+11sometimes too much HDR can ruin a photo
- burstaneurysm, on 08/19/2008, -1/+11I've lived in Chicago my entire life, and I still love looking at the skyline.

Gorgeous. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -4/+13i did not see any r32 33 or 34s
buried as inaccurate - gherikill, on 08/19/2008, -2/+11No Toronto, No Digg
- lostsymphonies1, on 08/19/2008, -0/+9Someone tell me how the hell Seattle is not on this list.

buenos aires?
needs some curves to go with all those right angles. - j4nj1m3n3z, on 08/19/2008, -2/+8I live in Chicago, but I still think Hong Kong has the best skyline in the world, especially at night riding up the peak tram to the top of the mountain. It is beautiful.
- mweflen, on 08/19/2008, -2/+8More like the 19 weakest photos of skylines on the internet. No Digg.
- ArchiTech, on 08/19/2008, -1/+7And that isn't even the best angle of Vancouver's skyline. Take a picture at the end of the Seawall near Kits Beach, looking north at Downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, and the North Shore Mountains beyond.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -0/+6That photo doesn't do Vancouver justice. Also, Detroit only looks good from a distance, with the lights turned down.
And Bangkok up close has about as much class as a Gilbert Gottfried porno movie. New Jersey strip malls are more cultured than Bangkok in 2008. - burstaneurysm, on 08/19/2008, -1/+7Chicago is in it... it's the very first picture. Come on guys!
- vincevonvice, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5Hong Kong's nightly light show from their towering skyscrapers along with Vancouver's post-modern European styled edifices make up some of my favorite skylines.
- grey580, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4I live in Miami. And I've taken pictures of that same skyline myself. I need a better camera so I can take pics that good too.
- burstaneurysm, on 08/19/2008, -1/+5Chicago is the very first pic.
- Benjamin10, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4I would agree with HuskyPuzzle. As a San Francisco native, I love th skyline with the Palace of Fine Arts in there and the water. Man this makes me want to travel...
- aptanalogy, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4First moron with a Tower of Babel comment gets supermeatshaftshanked. Oh wait, *****...
*sigh*
SUPERMEATSHAFTSHANK! OUCH!
I deserved that. - martinshiver, on 08/19/2008, -2/+6Toronto?

http://www.martinshiver.com/img/full/downtowncore1 ... - ChiliMac, on 08/19/2008, -0/+3Chicago is the first pic. Don't know why she didn't find something better than a reflection off of the bean.
- urgeigh, on 08/19/2008, -0/+3Hey it's not a "Best City" article it's "Skylines", and the Detroit skyline is beautiful... at night. :P I'm so torn between burying this for half the ***** pictures not doing their respective skylines justice or digging it because Detroit was actually in it and all those ***** pics made Detroit look really good.. yeah I'm a homer.
- SLockhart, on 08/19/2008, -0/+3London has too rich a history to cheapen it with skyscrapers.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -0/+3I have a feeling they could have found a better shot of the NYC skyline. I can get a better view riding on the NJ Turnpike than that terrible photo they had.
- novoare, on 08/19/2008, -2/+5For me, "skyline" doesn't necessarily have to mean a collection of buildings. What I really liked about all of these photos was that in the midst of these densely populated and constructed cities, the author found photos that showed how the beauty of the sky can be just as stunning in these places as it is on a tropical island in the Caribbean.
- cmallinson, on 08/19/2008, -0/+3I actually like the Toronto and Montreal skylines, but you must be kidding.
You haven't been to Vancouver. Pictures don't even do it justice. - eryximachus, on 08/19/2008, -1/+3Yes, they are.
- SoccerBoy, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2How can you miss T.O.?!?!?!!?!?
Really is among the best...
http://www.dottvwebsites.com/images/toronto-skylin ... - luke16, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Living in London all my life, i can safely say that we have the ***** skyline. We have NO tall buildings to even make up a decent skyline.
- bxblox, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2I see what Hong Kong thinks about light pollution.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Not sure about Graz that I only shortly visited once, I can say nothing about ther rest of the locations, not having seen them other than in pictures. but Venice is really a lame pic, even a bad postcard would have been a better photo to show Venetian skyline. I can tell you, living nearby, that you don' really have to go very far to have a nice to excellent picture of Venice in any light condition, even only browsing flickr...
- Petrarch1603, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Detroit?? THis list is just made to get pageviews with as minimal effort as possible. The pics arent even that good for most of these cities.
- representDLV, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2No Seattle???
- jazzguitar18, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2lol yeah seeing london on there I thought wow Denver could actually make this list... and thats saying something about the list lol.
- vivalanation734, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Booo!!! HDR sucks.
- brakzilla, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2i always think of wooden water tower silhouettes
- TheMidnight, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Typically, when you mention the "skyline of a city" it means the entire significant outline of buildings against sky from the whole urban core, or at least the central, most imposing part of it, not just a portion of it.

Nicer than london at least - SLockhart, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Not if Vancouver isn't on it.
- tallguyg, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2i could not agree with you more. Hong Kong's got the best skyline hands down in my book.
- Rikkochet, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2That they got the Plaza of Nations in a photo and it didn't look like it needed to be torn down was a feat unto itself.
- SpeedStix, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2I was about to not digg because of the lack of Toronto's skyline, but Warsaw Poland was included.
- conblex, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2The skyline of NYC is nothing like what it really looks like. Go to Roosevelt Island at night and take a good look at NYC from there.
