- canewediggit, on 07/25/2008, -3/+83i wish someone would pay him some big cash to do something in beijing on the eve of the opening ceremonies. a tank-man themed stencil would be beautiful.
- Suneet67, on 07/25/2008, -6/+48Bansky is an artist without borders that is as profound in his social commentary as brilliant as an artist. Dugg for legitimizing graffiti as a SERIOUS medium of Art ...
- Suneet67, on 07/25/2008, -2/+19Or the Olympic Rings made from overlayed hand cuffs
- teh_spazz, on 07/25/2008, -4/+19They showed some of his lesser work. Some of the stuff he has done is simply brilliant.
- smarty927, on 07/25/2008, -2/+14Meh, I prefer his site rather than Time Magazine's ad supported site. I think the point is to raise awareness *against* old-media, but maybe that's just my interpretation. Check out all of his work at http://www.banksy.co.uk/menu.html
- samuraiswordsmn, on 07/25/2008, -5/+14This isn't even his best work. "One Nation Under CCTV" is definitely my favorite.
- btschul, on 07/25/2008, -2/+10In addition to graffiti, he sometimes sneaks fake artifacts and paintings that he has made into museums.
http://banksy.co.uk/films/movie1.html - ZeMeisterstuck, on 07/25/2008, -3/+10They missed some of his best works.

- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -1/+7Unfortunately for you, he is highly talented and creative, spreading a message that resonates among a large number of people.
Nice try on the hatin', though. - Pricebreak, on 07/25/2008, -2/+7I love his work, very original. Loved "Caught in the Act"!
- chriskzoo, on 07/26/2008, -3/+8I actually find it quite hilarious that many Diggers probably have this iconic notion of Banksy being some dirty underground artist that grew up on the streets and does his work by the moonlight - only to vanish into thin air.
In fact, he is a privileged school boy who does sometimes even works in broad daylight: http://www.artnewsblog.com/2007/11/photo-of-banksy ...
I think his ***** is cool as hell, but the way people get pissed that his anonymity is broken amuses me. - smartcause, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5Dugg down for 15 pages/slides for 14 pictures
- grantmoore3d, on 07/26/2008, -1/+5Okay, he's an awesome artist and I love his creations... but can we stop having a post every single week about him?
- allenthar, on 07/25/2008, -1/+5What? I know I prefer my counterculture packaged, commercialized, and available at the nearest Hot Topic!
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -1/+5Been done a dozen times:
http://www.zazzle.com/free_tibet_handcuffs_t_shirt ... - icecoldtrashcan, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4Yeah, but he's the most famous. Ask the average person to name three graffiti artists, they'll only get as far as one name. He also has a talent for appealing to the masses in an art from that many may consider not even art at all.
- windowi, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Grab his book 'wall and peace' its frekin' awesome
- kawaiirobo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Considering that most of his art is done on the street, I'm going ahead and assuming that he doesn't do it for the money. Banksy doesn't seem like the guy who would do commissioned work. Also, I think China wold be the last place I'd want to vandalize, they seem a bit strict, I mean, they commit genocide over a peaceful religion, there's no telling what they would do to a graffiti artist.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Do you now him personally ?
Do you know his motivations ?
Do you know who puts his stuff online ?
Be a bit more precise and tell why he is a douche with a huge ego because i dont really understand your point. - radsprack, on 07/26/2008, -1/+4Really?
Even though it's a link to TIME.com? - Suneet67, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Bansky is not the first, nor last, nor best but his political and social commentary rises to the top of 'graffiti artists' and several of his works are poignant criticism of the status quo... he operates faceless and without borders... he is an artist deserving admiration even from the most cynical and smug of audiences (yourself)
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -7/+9Please stop digging Banksy.
He is very creative/talanted but 5 front pages during this month alone is kind of enough.
Specially since we always see the same 10 images. - Tantamime, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2I actually find it quite hilarious that I have this iconic notion of chriskzoo being an arrogant douche bag.
- robertawerner, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Well you need some money to pay off the Beijing police to look the other way.
And maybe something involving the Olympic torch and a Tibetan monk - kawaiirobo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2I think this guy is the closest thing to a super hero that we really have. He's anonymous, he uses his powers for good, and in many cases laughs in the face of public opinion.
- Suneet67, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2The artist is not as important in inciting change as the message he creates within Art and the responses it incites amongst its audience
- TheMightyDane, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1I wish nobody would .. I never hope that banksy would sell out...
- Harbinger67, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1I would rather someone just offer him a plane ticket and accommodations/food if needed. I doubt someone like Banksy would really want to profit from his work, but someone helping overcome barriers like travel expenses could be helpful.
- lolwutpear, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1it's too bad that most graffiti will never advance beyond the crude vandalism that you see in most major cities.
- seantubridy, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Hey, Time magazine, its called AJAX. You don't have reload the whole page for one damn picture.
- ivankraszl, on 07/26/2008, -2/+3He's not the first nor the best. Read up on the subject.
- grayiscolorful, on 07/26/2008, -1/+2dugg, but missing One Nation Under CCTV
- thehodgie, on 07/26/2008, -1/+2Dugg for banksy awesome. A ridiculously talented artist.
- coolcole93, on 07/25/2008, -5/+6To put it simply: Banksy is awesome!
- ZeMeisterstuck, on 07/26/2008, -1/+2Sources:
http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/news/article-1034613 ... - zenthax, on 07/26/2008, -1/+2man how come he is pretentious if no one knowss who the ***** is he
- Markpdotcom, on 07/26/2008, -2/+3Its a shame he's a middle class ponce from the "good side of the tracks", exploiting a street medium to gain as much money as he possibly can.
- Suneet67, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1I dont want it to move away from the walls of the streets because that medium is intrinsic to its message of anarchy and revolution at the street level
- ChileanGoD, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Is there a firefox plug-in that helps you reposition a webpage to the exact position you scrolled from the last one. It's very fking annoying on these kind of galleries to click next and reposition the webpage so you can see the image.
- jefjefjef, on 07/26/2008, -1/+1who's banksy
- coolcole93, on 07/26/2008, -3/+3Do you have any idea how much you're about to get Dugg down?
I'll start proceedings.... - MrMantooth, on 07/26/2008, -1/+1Haven't seen a lot of these. WTF is this one all about?
http://streetartists.blastgroups.com/showItem/pics ... - ivy200949, on 06/02/2009, -0/+0like if very much <a href=http://www.book530.com >oil painting</a>
- pwnerofnoobs, on 07/26/2008, -7/+7I'm not clicking the link. It sounds too much like goatsy.
- lucasart, on 03/06/2009, -0/+0his book 'wall and peace' its frekin' awesome
http://oilpaintinglucasart.com - stinkingfish, on 07/26/2008, -1/+1Why don't you do it?
- ivy200949, on 06/02/2009, -0/+0I love it
- crywolf, on 07/26/2008, -1/+1And dont forget the fact that hes the most commericalzed artist, when there are graffiti artists much more original and ingenious than him. hes just a popular figure to represent it.
