- wrzhydr, on 12/23/2007, -6/+46This makes me WANT to sin. Even more so than before.
- ThugEsquire, on 12/23/2007, -2/+4Which sin? I'm feeling Wrath, myself. ***** you.
- wrzhydr, on 12/23/2007, -0/+7I'm thinking about Avarice, Wraith, and Gluttony. So go ***** yourself while I sit here on my throne made of diamonds and eat caviar flavored cheese doodles.

(Both have the seven deadly sins works and many others as well) - mojaam, on 12/23/2007, -0/+163Even though they have the copyright in the picture, it still doesn't do justice to the artist who posted them herself at http://blackeri.deviantart.com/gallery/#Deadly-Sin ... and http://blackeri.cgsociety.org/gallery/ to have her works posted at a spammish looking, porn advertising, discombobulated website.
- goblindegook, on 12/23/2007, -0/+21Dugg for justice and also for use of the word "discombobulated".
- goblindegook, on 12/23/2007, -18/+1Dugg for justice and also for use of the word "discombobulated".
- novahh, on 12/23/2007, -0/+7I agree. Even just the title by itself tipped me off that they were hers...no one could possibly portray the sins like she does, and I was angered that they were on a site that clearly she was not affiliated with. Thanks for posting this.
- DesignNerd, on 12/23/2007, -4/+54I think Kevin Spacey did a more interesting job portraying these.

- chingy1788, on 12/23/2007, -1/+2god is an extremely old guy and satan is some extremely hot chick?
- MaTT2011, on 12/24/2007, -0/+1Using christian theology the source of sin, or at least the thing that pushes mankind to sin, is SATAN; as such i gave him a "w00t" given the assumption that these sins can be personified via hot chicks (except for the fat one, of course).
Apparently most diggers took my comment as being a literal shout out to SaTaN....but it was rather an ironic comment intended to give credit to the S man IF sins are indeed hot chicks.

- Remmy, on 12/23/2007, -49/+4Someone needs to tell the artist what the 7 deadly sins are.
Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride- winmywii, on 12/23/2007, -18/+3Pride is a sin? WTF
- jordansampson, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Not only is Pride a sin, Its the worst of all seven. Think about a certain angel who prided himself a god;). For those who care, Lust and Gluttony are the two least serious; and sloth has nothing to do with what we think of it as today - it deals with religious inactivity.
Knew that class would come in handy someday. Thats $1000 well spent.
- jordansampson, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Not only is Pride a sin, Its the worst of all seven. Think about a certain angel who prided himself a god;). - 1rage, on 12/23/2007, -0/+15I see all 7 that you listed, just different synonyms for greed and pride.
- Netrilix, on 12/23/2007, -0/+25They had Lust, Gluttony, Avarice (Greed), Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Vanity (essentially Pride).
- benbos, on 12/23/2007, -0/+37Because the seven deadly sins were obviously originally in English, and so there's only one specific English word that can be used for each sin.
- mc7winkie, on 12/23/2007, -2/+4To remmy's defense vanity and pride do not necessarily strike most people as synonyms. Vanity is used more to describe caring only about one's looks while pride conveys more of a sense of placing yourself and your acts above others.
- jordansampson, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Infact thats what the sin refers to. It is a direct reference to Lucifer. The angel who believed himself a god. Nothing to do with an angel who thought he was good looking;).
Oh well. once you get dug down there is no stopping the diggsheep.

- rarson, on 12/23/2007, -1/+30I like the ones for Vanity and Wrath, too. The Wrath picture just looks bad-ass.
- sjbdallas, on 12/23/2007, -1/+27I'm torn between Lust and Wrath. They'd both be a great ride but I fear that Wrath would slit my throat afterwards.
- solidus636, on 12/23/2007, -0/+7Just cuddle after sex and you'll be fine...
- ddotccDPU, on 12/23/2007, -8/+27@ Remmy
Dumbass...Check your thesaurus, Avarice is the same thing as greed and Vanity is the same thing as pride. Someone needs to fix the plank in their own eye before pointing out the spec in someone else's.- chillybeans27, on 12/23/2007, -1/+25reply button, please.

- sillykalcifer, on 12/23/2007, -8/+3lust ftw
- jaydedragon, on 12/23/2007, -15/+6first someone needs to telly remmy he needs a dictionary.. the artist DID include all the 7 deadly sins
1. Pride (Vanity)
2. Avarice (Greed)
3. Envy
4. Wrath
5. Lust
6. Gluttony
7. Sloth
1. PRIDE: This is the unwillingness to look at one's faults honestly, or of esteeming ourselves greatly based on an excessive consciousness of abilities or worth. This is VANITY, and is often euphemistically called, 'self respect.'
2. AVARICE: This is simply Greed. This sin is the inordinate love of possessions and desire for either material wealth, or to gain more than one needs.
and secondly.. WRATH is freaking AWESOME!!!! her hair is wicked sick- Zeonix, on 12/23/2007, -3/+20Holy *****, use the reply function.
- whodaimen, on 12/23/2007, -10/+6Am I the ONLY one who cannot read that list without remembering Full Metal Alchemist?
- liquidhalcyon, on 12/23/2007, -3/+1Yes, Yes you are.
- 100Slinky, on 12/23/2007, -19/+7Another "7 deadly sins" list that doesn't seem to include ***** kids in the rectory. Or is that the seminary?
- Wartz, on 12/23/2007, -0/+9that would be lust
- jackminardi, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1ohh burnedddd
- sfacets, on 12/23/2007, -6/+46Aren't women usually the source of the "seven deadly sins"?
- iRaachie, on 12/23/2007, -4/+8We are walking, talking (seven) deadly sins. I have no problem agreeing with you.
- jfjj, on 12/23/2007, -1/+2*steps back from sfacets way*
- deltaandroid, on 12/23/2007, -3/+21someone call the Fullmetal Alchemist!
- WorldGroove, on 12/23/2007, -1/+5We gotta find the remains of the original person those 7 women represent. It's the only way to defeat them.
Also, these pictures are very beautiful... good job.. and if you like these beautiful arts, please check out http://forums.cgsociety.org/ - Ianislevi, on 12/23/2007, -0/+0Heh, to make your comments even better is that I just that I just finished the series today.
Ah, so Wrath *was* a girl- deltaandroid, on 12/24/2007, -0/+1Thats cool you watched the series and all, but Wrath wasnt a girl, it was either a male child, or a child 'it'. Theres nothing to show it was a girl, and even in the manga it aint a girl. P.S. you gotta see the movie!
- WorldGroove, on 12/23/2007, -1/+5We gotta find the remains of the original person those 7 women represent. It's the only way to defeat them.
- Commodore84, on 12/23/2007, -1/+28Isn't this blatant copyright infringement? It's not legal to collect ad revenue by using someone else's art to generate traffic on your website...
- zeptobyte, on 12/23/2007, -3/+4Since when...?
- sitryd, on 12/23/2007, -0/+6since the copyright act gives artists the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute their works.
- centran, on 12/23/2007, -2/+3Welcome to the glorious "gray area" for these matters.
After you figure out if it is illegal then try to figure out if the artist can sue... did the artist actually "lose" anything and therefor owed. Isn't law great!- Tarsmus, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Actually, they did. The artist lost the opportunity of payment for the use of her images as a form of advertising. Had they been linked back to her in some way, that would be a different story. Now, someone not familiar with her work has no way of finding the artist from the site, and they are using it as their own property.
- nuclearpenguins, on 12/23/2007, -3/+11Hell is going to be awesome! I'll save you all seats.
- ryancalderoni, on 12/23/2007, -9/+3LUST FTW!!!
- ShyGuy91284, on 12/23/2007, -0/+6Great use of symbolism since they have always been the best reason to sin....

- MutatedNantuko, on 12/23/2007, -14/+3God these are so ***** old... I saw these on CGsociety over a year ago.
- Anoobis, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3Well its new to me so sorry and shut up or gtfo.
Its probably new to lots of others as it reached front page. I want to say stuff like this at times but remember before you press submit - does anyone actually care about what this comment says? - cbuddha42, on 12/23/2007, -0/+4Well over a year old. Don't post about how old stuff is if you don't remember it coming out. Plus, I'm sure a lot of people haven't seen them or enjoyed seeing them again.
- ladyarcher85, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2So what? Good art is ageless! Plus not everyone had access to the internet the same time as YOU did so just shut the ***** up.
- Anoobis, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3Well its new to me so sorry and shut up or gtfo.
- goblindegook, on 12/23/2007, -10/+4Aren't they really ALL lust?
- jfjj, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1how so?
- goblindegook, on 12/23/2007, -11/+4Aren't they really ALL lust?
- Stevethegreat, on 12/23/2007, -11/+8Some priests hijacked Jesus' Buddhist teachings and somewhere in the dark ages (hence the name) inserted their stupidity and naiveness in the form of the 7 sins. It's good that I was born in the Eastern Orthodoxy Christianity sect were most of Jesus teachings -at least- survived as they were and I didn't have to be reminded every once in a while that I'll go to hell, it made my jump to atheism (or rather agnosticism) easier. Catholics proved the world how exactly the simplest and most sensible ethical guidelines can be turned to the greatest mental virus ever devised by man.
You can get one by one of those "sins" and disprove them in a philosophical terms very easily, I won't go on and do so because I'll be buried since there 're still people believing those "sins" make logical sense to be accounted as such and I since I want what I have written to be read.
Even so I can tell you the simple that all of them (except gluttony) are vague and in one way or another even the most greatest philanthropists and benefactors of humanity had many of them.- yodaclaus, on 12/23/2007, -1/+11I don't think the point of this was to show what the sins were (and the theological discussion related thus), but, rather the BAD ASS artwork this person did. See that over there? That's the boat. And this is you missing it.
- Stevethegreat, on 12/23/2007, -1/+3If the point of this was a theological discussion around the 7 deadly sins, we wouldn't have -here- odes in favour of the artwork presented. One must be mildly retarted to believe even for a momment that those 7 pictures were presented here so that we can resort into theologisms.
However. The very fact that someone used this very topic as inspiration shows how deeply interweaved it is in the fabric of his/her society. It's not ill-conceived for him/her to present a popular notion, it is ill-conceived of his/her society to promote it to popular pieces of didacticism. If we can't question the motives, then we can't understand the defects of our societies (and consequently the way to alleviate them), everything just happened in that case and we're merely players in a game which is not ours (and also can't control). But that's the furtherest of the reality that can be, WE're the society and we further old and dangerous myths directly or -worse- indirectly through those "innocent" ways imprinting them in the unconsciousness of our children and our contemporaries, society can't walk further with such stagnant mindsets in place.
It's NOT OK to admire a piece of artwork being devoid of any emotion towards its topic, in that case we make a disservice to the artwork itself or the artist. Art is the expression of a given society and since it's a window to it's inner workings it gives us a great chance to see how and/or why superstition arises and what the social dynamics are the way they are.
Art is not only a reflection of the artist's soul but most importantly it is his/her society's soul and as a member of this very -same- society I have every right in the world to reproach it based on the artwork presented. Maybe seeing everything with a critical mind is not as bad as you -diggers- present it by the act of burying my "illegality" of refraining to follow the strict lines of a "normal mindset". Maybe if I had posted a "lol" or "kewl" statement I would be at the very top of the stack of the most digged comments in this thread, but my common sense prevents me to make a comment just to say "cool" and maybe yours should too.

Some interesting takes on the seven deadly sins. - coustoe, on 12/23/2007, -0/+4This has been on deviant art forever, old news is always new news for some....
- ceris, on 12/23/2007, -2/+2They look like they would be on sale at a truck stop next to the Chinese made dream catchers and wolf statues.
- edwartica, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3SEX! now that I've got your attention....
- markperia, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3ahh blackeri, one of the greatest digital artist ever. she was featured in Create mag a few years back and her stuff has been a daily dev over at deviantart. She's also a pretty nice person.
- n10sityr, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2I thought Brad Pitt was wrath and Kevin Spacey was envy.
- staffell, on 12/23/2007, -1/+2gluttony = amy winehouse?
- fartbuttes, on 12/23/2007, -2/+1ehhh they're okay, not really worth a digg imo...
- reviver, on 12/23/2007, -3/+2OLD!
- sneakybeaver, on 12/23/2007, -2/+0DAMN lust, you lookin fine girl!
- shalpin, on 12/23/2007, -0/+0Please bury this. It seems offensive to me that someone is making money off of this artist's hard work without her permission and doing so by using a site with lurid, NSFW links. I'm sure this would be quite distressing for the artist.
